Naruto Chapter 424: Kakashi’s Last Breath

Oh my God! They killed Kakashi! You Bastards! Well, Kakashi is not officially dead yet, but Kishimoto certainly seems to be going that way. And holy crap, Kishi killed off Choza too in this chapter and we didn’t even get to see how Pein delivered the fatal blow to him. And Choji just lost Asuma to Akatsuki recently too… and now his dad? This is just too much for the poor guy… This was a really eventful chapter, but I think things may be moving too fast or at least the changes are to drastic and unpredictable; especially when you consider how many pages were devoted to the final scenes of other characters who have died: Third Hokage, Jiraiya, Asuma. It just doesn’t seem right to off Kakashi in such a short battle sequence. And although sacrificing himself to save Choji is a honourable and touching move – I still think Kakashi deserves something grander.
Tsunade, meanwhile, is sending her sluggies around to heal all the wounded shinobis in the village. But she really needs to send a couple of slugs over to Kakashi pronto! Kakashi’s life is worth 1000 times that of these no name ninjas. C’mon Tsunade, get your priorities straight! Heal the main characters first! As you can imagine, trying to heal all the injured in the village at once will be a huge drain on Tsunade – something that creep Danzo will be more than happy to exploit. Danzo is just a scheming opportunist who may spout about doing everything for the good of Konoha, but really only wants to gain power for himself. While innocents are being killed on the streets above, he orders his own men to hide underground and wait until the fighting has ended to seize control for themselves. Even if he does manage to overthrow Tsunade, I hope the people of Konoha will reject him because he is a cowardly backstabber.
On the other front, Inoichi Yamanaka and his team are doing what looks like a genjutsu lobotomy on the poor Rain ninja’s brain. Using giant scrolls embedded in the brain, they scan through the ninja’s memories for any clues which might reveal Pein’s secrets. Inoichi is so talented that he can go through an entire day full of memories in 30 seconds. Even so, with so much to analyze, it will take a while to sift through it all. Shizune and some ANBU arrive to help guard them in case Pein targets the interrogation room – a precaution which is well warranted as Animal Realm and Human Realm Pein zero in on them.
During Inoichi’s interrogation of the Rain ninja’s brain, one memory fragment shows the Rain ninja and his partner lugging a body to Pein’s tower in his village. Apparently they’ve been ordered to conduct this duty for many years – leading to the conclusion that Pein must have a large collection of bodies at his disposal. The body that the two Rain ninja had brought in during the memory sequence is that of a girl, and if you look closely it is actually the body of who we now know as Animal Realm Pein. With a huge number of bodies at his command, Pein will never run out of replacements, making him seemingly immortal. And as I’ve suggested in the past, with so many bodies channelling chakra to him, this may explain why Pein is also seemingly unbeatable in combat.
And for the last scene of the chapter, God Realm Pein leaves after believing he has killed everyone. But Choji is still alive and can move because his father shielded him from Pein’s attacks – at the cost of his own life. Kakashi also managed to survive because he had used his Mangekyou Sharingan ability to send the nail Pein flicked at him to another dimension. However, Kakashi is now critically low on chakra. Under Kakashi’s orders, Choji rushes off to inform Tsunade of what they’ve learned. But that dang Demon Realm Pein refuses to die and fires a missile to kill Choji as he is leaving. Kakashi makes the selfless decision to protect the village to the end and uses his MS to swallow up Pein’s missile, allowing Choji to flee. Unfortunately, the cost will be Kakashi’s life. Say it ain’t so, Kishi! And even worse still, the next chapter, 424, won’t come out for another two weeks!

As I’ve said before, I think Shika and his dad are the perfect match for God realm Pein and Asura Pein because Pein can’t repulse a shadow, and with choza dead they will have some serious motivation like when Asuma died.
I don’t think this is a fitting end for Kakashi, if it is so. I also thought that we was gonna face a Sharingan user and die at his hands, whether it was Sasuke or Madara. Now Konoha officially does not have anybody who uses the Sharingan in their favor, which will mean difficulty for them upon fighting either Sasuke or Madara. Also, I thought he was gonna die saving Naruto or Sakura in battle, or at least saving the village in a big way but not by giving them info about just one Pain. He is put in the same level of other Konoha shinobi who also discovered the powers of other Pain, yet they are all unable to discover how to fight him and where does that body has a weakness.
I just hope Choji makes it to Tsunade and that people in the investigation serum don’t get killed by Animal and Human Realm. Freaking Danzo! He might very well be the next Hokage. Noooooo! I hope not, but like other have mentioned in previous comments, it could be a good thing because Naruto and Sakura could then join Sasuke’s cause to kill the elders.
I really hope tsunade saves Kakashi but then is to weak to fight off Danzo, this is because 1. I don’t like tsunade 2. I wan’t to learn more about Danzo 3. I wan’t kakashi to survive 4. last but definately not least, I want naruto to GO ROUGE.

As much as I don’t want to see Kakashi go, I think he is done… unless Tsunade finds him before then, which I doubt she will.
I wonder how Sasuke will react when he learns about Kakashi’s death, that is, if he really dies. If Kakashi dies, then the next chapter must be flashbacks and secrets about him, including his face and how he got the MS. If there isn’t any flashback, I think he will survive unless Kishi proves me wrong by showing him dead cold.
I can only imagine Team 7 against Pain and Danzo. That would be so cool

As I said in the other post,if Kakashi does die,the next chapter is going to be all about important events/stages in his life.I completely agree with you bob.The pacing of the story line is messed up.Important events like this should have a series of chapters dedicated towards the announcement of kakashi’s death.Maybe all these deaths might trigger something in naruto’s head.Who knows?Kishi is just messing with our heads.
The loss of his father would really be too much for Choji & the rest of team 7… but recall during the Sasuke retrieval arc when Choji had also expended all his chakra? He was saved; mebbie Gai or Hinata will reach him in time…

choji was saved by tsunade, who will be to tired, and I doubt sakura has reached that level yet. By the way where is Sakura? The last we see of her is when she owns the cetipede. I think Itachi’s gift just nullifies the MS/EMS saskue has.
As for suna coming to help we already know that it takes about 3 days to travel between the leaf and sand villages. So even if suna did know what was going on (which probably dont) any help would probably arrive to late. Its more likley that the team from the cloud village will arrive soon.
Danzou shows his trye colours finally.I think though, his attemp will be sorta effective. no ninjas would follow him and Tsunade won’t go down that easily.There will be mass confussion going on but Tsunade will have enough support to stay in power if she lives through this crisis. As for Kakashi, he will live. he is just to smart and to valuable as a character to die off so easily.Plus I think that choji’sdad might of given him one of the special pills to surive the battle. Also we can’t forget that Gai has shown up up yet. Gai will take over the fight and save Kakashi. Tsunade’s slug will also reach him in time.
NAruto will be in a big surprise when he returns. mass confussion will be going on. I think to he or Gamabunta will kill Danzou for killing the messanger frog.Danzou had better fear the rath of the Toads.

kakashi should die instead of tsunade. she s more important than him to stop danzou. also i like this twist better than the predictable hokage dieing to protect the village . it has been done already with the 4th and 3rd hokage’s. this is what makes naruto such a great manga kishi is not afraid to kill the good guys unlike other manga’s. tsunade is the one to tell naruto about what happened to kushina she seems she knew her better than anyone and about minato to.
also this is a good way for naruto to finish his growth because he does not have anyone else to depend on other than himself. this is a good way for naruto to transition from a boy to a man. if kakashi’s finishes what jiriaya started than his death was for the greater good. we may see a flash back chapter next week to see how kakashi got his MS and what happen to rin. also it shows just how much of a bad ass pain really is. taking out two powerful shinobie without much. if naruto beats him than naruto has shown he is beyond both his teachers and it will be a greater feat. also if he beats pain naruto for hokage.

Actually, having people supporting you helps you grow, and to be conscious of the task of entrusting and supporting to others. However, it is true that you get maturity when others die. Naruto has had enough suffering in his life to grow. He was rejected and hated by the people of Konoha. He never had a family. He had no skill. He has not become a Chunin yet. He has been rejected by Sakura. He couldn’t keep Sasuke from going to Orochimaru, and lost to him, and never was able to convince him to go back to the village. He had his closest person die, Jiraiya, the only one that was really like father for him and trusted him so much. And now with Kakashi’s death, it is just inconceivable. Therefore, Kakashi will not die yet. So much pain for Naruto is just too much. He will become crazy and get dementia from so much. He will become a EMO!
I agree with Uchigatana. Several times less important characters have been rescued from a sure death. Kakashi is freaking important. Kishi has enjoyed so much revenue, so much profit from Kakashi merchandise like toys, posters, underwear (maybe), clothes, costumes, and countless widgets. He has been a potent driving force for the success of the Naruto Series. And now his death is just to pitiful compared to what you would expect from the death of a great hero. He is an icon. The first or most usual thing that comes to mind when most people think or hear of Naruto, even those who don’t like Naruto or simply don’t watch it, is a skinny, silver-hair, partially masked guy who holds a book and always looks sleepy.
Although, I have to admit that he would have to reach his death later and with more grandeur.
quite a few fresh issues introduced in this chapter
1. The bodies are indeed dead.
2. Danzou’s coup.
3. Tsunade’s crazy mass healing technique.
4. The return to the “everyone-except-Naruto-in-the-Naruto-manga” trend.
5. The whole brain scan thing.
A few things I’d like to introduce for further discussion.
The fact that the body’s are dead might put quite a big hole in that theory of Bob’s. I love the theory, but I doubt that bodies produce chakra after they’ve passed on, unless they have been revived by Pein.
Also the memories that Inoichi and crew are scanning seem to belong to someone who worked directly in the bringing of the bodies to Pein, so how did he wind up a corpse? These flashbacks indicate that the bodies do not share a consciousness with Pein and have independent memories. Also I have a theory that his bodies are those that have been killed in war…at least Summon girl is, based on the comment about families not being allowed to see the remains.
Does anybody else think that the removal of the eyes from these bodies would completely destroy their effectiveness? Just gouge out Asura Pein’s eyes, I mean, he’s a freaking torso for gawsh sakes.
My ruling on Kakashi, which I find to be one of the least important things in this chapter is that he’s still alive, or if he has perished, we’re about to have the continuation of Kakashi Gaiden, hence the break for Kishi.
Also think of Naruto. He would love to have at least one of his mentors to see him reach the throne of Konoha. Haven’t you thought of it? Don’t you remember when you graduated from high school and how much you wanted your parents to watch you and did so? Don’t you want your parents to see you get married or get a prize? Don’t you wanna see somebody you freaking admire be proud of you? Hell, Kakashi can’t die yet.
If Kakashi dies, then Naruto won’t have anybody to look up with his achievements. You may say maybe Tsunade or Iruka, but it will never be the same like with Jiraiya and Kakashi.

@38: chakra & dead bodies – yeah some kind of revival (recall orochimaru w/the 1st & 2nd hokages), chakra and techniques can definitely be accessed after the person is dead. That is why so much care is taken to protect the corpses of powerful shinobi (hope this aspect was in the manga as well)
- the ninja that Inoichi & co. are working on is the one captured by Jiraya and sent in the frog to Konoha; he is alive. It is his memories that we are seeing. The dead ninja is one of Pein’s former bodies
Wouldn’t it be ironic if Sai, valuing his new friendships and greater duty to all of Konoha, eliminates Danzo?

Seriously he’s been one of my favorite characters since Episode 3 of part one.
Reminiscing (with some sappy music playing like when we thought Choji died in episode 114)
remember that time when Naruto, Saskue, Sakura, and Kakashi went on their first mission together outside the village, and we thought those chunnin outside the village killed him and it turned out to be a replacement jutsu.
remember that time when we first saw him use his sharingan against Zabuza.
and who can forget when he first tried to teach Naruto, Saskue, and Sakura how to walk up a tree.
Or when he first signed them up for the Chunnin Exams …..(sobs).. the poor saps had no clue as to what they were doing.
OR when he opened up a can of whoop a** on the invaders of Konaha.
OR IN THE SASKUE RETRIEVAL ARC when Kakashi rushed to stop Saskue and Naruto but it was too late, and Kakashi had to break the news to Naruto about what happened to Saskue.
OR MAYBE IN THE SHIPPUDEN EPISODES when Kakashi was in the group with Naruto, Sakura, and Elder Chio. Then He and Naruto went to get Deidra ( his name is spelled diffrently but im to destraught rit now) and he sucked his other arm into another dimention and his clone explosion.

nobody should stop reading the manga because a side character dies it is not right. naruto is the main guy and as long as he is alive and becomes stronger who really care. jiriaya was one of my favorite characters and he died. i did not think to stop reading the manga because it made the story better it should pain was a super strong villain. and naruto would not have learned to become a sage without his death. kakashi can have a similar effect if he dies.

, i would say ( im not basing this off of any statistics or anything) most mangas and animes’ are brought to their liking from the uniqueness of the other characters , of course the main character will always come out in the end … thats how they allll are (well most) , we never need to worry about main characters except for thr dramatic build ups to pin point our care for them but for the sub characters and side characterxs 
they jkeep me watching till we fans see something amazing in them that helps our the main character 
but anyways personally only reason i liek naruto is cas of his demon in side him , i hate the fact hes full with add and adhd all gone ho crazed about saving his friend, i bet next time he sees sasuke i bet he just wants to make out with him

back@ 43 Good comeback on the chakra thing, seems to make sense, recall though that Orochimaru did need dead bodies to use his reanimation jutsu, and that we have no idea whether the chakra supply they were using was representative of their former selves or the bodies used to host them.
And yeah, I kinda forgot that Jiraiya sent back two bodies for a second there, hehe…so the guy Inoichi is probing is not one of Pein’s bodies I’m guessing…?
yea i wonder if orochimaru taught sasuke that jutsu, he basically taught him everything he knows. speaking of bodies wat ever happened to jiraiyas usually wen some1 dies they have a funeral eg third, asuma wat eva happened to his.

-kakashi dies! what a stupid joke from kishi.like some of you have said, kakashi is to important for the plot of Naruto to just die in this manner.some of you would say that jiraya was important too, but he died.weelllllll…….i don’t think that jiraya was as important as kakashi is.
-first of all jiraya entered naruto’s life a little bit later than kakashi(not so importanat but it is a fact);
-secondly-jiraya has been busy only with naruto, but like we all know kishi is a fan of emo kid sasuke and we know who taught sasuke the very first steps of being a shinobi;
-thirdly-jiraya was a loneliner.other than naruto,tsunade and kakashi he wasn’t seen talking to anyone;
-in the fourth place-jiraya is a sannin and i think kishi wants to discard all of them.(after jiraya,orochimaru died).kakshi is to young to die and his death right now isn’t plausible.
-lastly-kakashi doesn’t deserve a lonely death(look at asuma,he was with his students when he passed,the third was with the konohians).if kakashi dies sometime it think he will be,like asuma,with his students.
Conclusion-kakashi isn’t dead and he will be saved.

Finally one great chapter that remind us how complex story is
as you see it would be great if danzo overtook village because khisi wants to make naruto world look more like real one with plots and playing your game for your gain (like in real world in every action there is some personal goal that person wants, and nobody will not do anything if they don’t have any interest in it), so danzo is just a great politician that was waiting for his chance.
we must not forget that hokage line was not really that good persons, after all 3rd hokage ordered to kill uchiha clan to save his position in village (so uchiha would not make coup d’état)
also danzo have strong army of his followers that are capable to make coup d’état.
also I don’t think gai could save kakashi because tai would be poor against god pain ability

as for kakashi dying idk, he could be saved my hinata,gai, or the slugs. but i think him dying would actually put alot of things int0 play that would cause naruto to grown strong(as it has already been said on here) but also sakura. Like it or not she has the potential to be better at medical jutus’s and the super strength stuff than tsunade is…the next chapter whatever it maybe about it going be amazing

You know, I just thought about something, Pein created those “clones” of Itachi and Kisame by using bodies as well, and I believe they were alive. It’s just weird how many forms of resurrection and/or copying jutsu are available. He also did not need to use the chakra receivers on those clones even though he needed a portion of Kisame and Itachi’s chakra to create them.
His ability and this manipulation of the bodies is just insanely powerful and wrong.
I believe that the fact that Pein is using dead bodies could be a really big clue in finding out how his bodies work. Also, I wonder how the mind of Pein which is a male mind can cope with the brain of a woman (Animal Realm).
It could only mean that Pein has a way to erase parts of a persons brain in order to make room for his own consciousness.
In don’t want to think that much about Kakashi, since two weeks is long enough as it is. Unfortunately, as I see things, he’s in a very tight spot. Kakshi might die in the following chapters. And I’m saying this because he sounds like he gave up. “it looks like this is it for me “ is something very similar to what Asuma told Ino before dying. Asuma knew what condition his body was in and knew that his time had came. I just wish there could be something similar to when Asuma died, and Kakashi would be able to address his last words to Naruto and Sakura.

Also if you recall in the previous chapter, Kakashi said that I didn’t make it. Doesn’t anyone find it strange that Kakashi hasn’t tried to get out of the rubble or use his arms. I think that his lower body was crushed in the attack that killed Choza. I would find it hard to believe that Kakashi wouldn’t have used an earth technique (one of his favorite moves) to escape the rubble, if he could use his hands and legs.
All in all, it seems like someone doesn’t want Kakashi to be the next Hokage, the same someone who once said that he would be the best candidate.

what I think will happen conserning kakashi is this: 1. Sakura will find him and save/fail to save him. If she saves him he will eventually be hokage because Danzo killed tsunade. If she fails to save him, his last words will cause another kakashi gaiden sequnce.

i think it is a good twist if he dies because his death would make naruto grow even more because it will make naruto become a man and stop depending on his teachers for help. the death of ever one close to him will make him i hope leave the village because he will blame himself making him a rouge ninja and going on a journey like jiriaya did to become a better sage. and maybe meet killer bee and train under him to control the kyuubi. killer bee can take kakashi’s spot because he is stronger and cooler than him imo.
also if anyone is going to save kakashi is a medic ninja like sakura or tsunade’s slug i do not see how gai or any of the rookie 11 can save him because he is dieing because he over use his chakra. i think rin maybe alive and she can save kakashi because she is a medic ninja. i read that kishi said he was going to introduce a new strong female ninja to the series and rin can make a comeback hopefully. and i doubt sasuke would save kakashi all he wants is power and the ability to crush kohona which pain is doing. he will probably just use the invasion as a distraction to kill the elders and danzou.
also i get the feeling that pain’s secrete is about to be discovered and that may signify naruto coming to beat pain. because pain said that if his secrete is solved he can be killed. also ma went off to get groceries about a few chapters ago maybe if she left the mountain she can hear about the commotion in kohona and tell pa and naruto.
Chapter was a whirlwind of action…I have mixed feelings about Kakashi dying. I hope he does, because it would be more realistic and move the story along. I hope he doesn’t because it will totally throw off the dynamic of the series and probably ‘jump the shark’. I hate to say it, but I really think this is one time Naruto is not going to save the day. For anybody in Konoha right now. Someone mentioned Sasuke saving Kakashi…that seems more plausible, and would seriously be exciting. Tsunade doesn’t seem like she’s planning to get off her butt anytime soon to do any physical fighting, but what I’d like to know is why haven’t we seen the fights of any of the main characters? Gai, Neji, Shikamaru, Sai, Kiba, I mean, come on! I personally don’t care to see Shizune or Inoichi, show us what the next generation of ninja can do!

When The third died, it brought Tsunade in making things better.
When Asuma died, it made the sorriest squad, squad 10, a lot better than it used to be.

When Kakashi dies it will be much more dramatic and ACTION PACKED and all about him against whoever, but that is too brief for him to die.
i want to see naruto fight pain because i do not want to see the other rookies fight pain because they are no match for him. because kakashi is hanging on by a thread and jiriaya died by pain. what can the rookies really do except get in the way and die. also tsunade is doing the best she can do for the village and that is saving as many lives as possible she knows the only one that could beat pain is naruto and she does not stand a chance.
also naruto already lost a family figure in jiriaya who was like his grandfather and he said iruka was like his father so naruto could not take his death on the other hand kakashi is his teacher and naruto knows he can defend himself and he can accept his death. but on the other hand iruka can not defend himself so it would hurt naruto more. he knows ninja’s die and is expected but iruka is a teacher and he stands no chance to survive.
also kakashi’s death will make naruto more of a man because he depends on kakashi as a teacher and a crutch that he has to overcome while iruka just treats him to ramen, his death would just hurt him not help him grow as a ninja in the way kakashi’s death would.
I reckon if Sakura gets there in time she can save kakashi, i dont want to see him die b4 he sees tobi r madara r watever again, if he dies b4 naruto arrives (or at least naruto thinks he does), naruto might fight some1 (not the real pain but one of his bodies) n win out of revenge. ok… my opinion is that if in the next chapter, kishi makes any kind of emotional flashback about Rin, Obito or even the White Fang then Kakashi is a goner.
On the other hand, if the next chapter focuses on other things and does not mention Kakashi anywhere, thus keeping the question mark if he is trully dead, then i think Kakashi wont die.
About naruto ending anytime soon… i don’t think so… with all the things that are left to tie up together and the dark spots that Kishi has to shed light to, a minimum of 2 more years is needed.

well, a definate coparison between saskue/sai was drawn in the anime (don’t remeber the manga) when sai was first introduced. the reason I think he looks like Saskue more is the hair style (Saskue has more bangs than Sai) and the skin tone (Sai is bleach-white).

@neji-kun i noticed that hair thing sometime back myself…i read somewhere on here can’t remember when or who post the blog…anyway it talked about the links between all the strong shinobi’s in konaha(i think it was something like that) anyway the hair color isn’t the only thing that have in common, they both used water jutus’s…the 2nd was a master at them and kakashi had an aray of them himself…kakashi dying would make the manga that much more action packed but him dying would throw off the older of hokages. if you think about it all the hokages have been trained in the same manner…the 1st & 2nd trained sarutobi(3rd),sarutobi trained j-sama who trained the 4th, then it went back to tsunade(5th), so in theory kakashi who was trained by the 4th and trained naruto who obviously will become hokage eventually. has to stay alive to become hokage eventually. My guess is that they are killing off all the teachers and older members of the village to symbolize the dawn of the youth. I don’t think Kakashi is quite dead either…. we’ll see.
I think if Kakashi dies now it would be an honourable death, what with saving Chouji and sacrificig his life for Konoha. But I don’t want him to and I don’t think it’s his time either. I hope someone comes and saves him at the last minute. Maybe Tsunade’s slugs or anyone will do, as long as he is saved.

Btw, if I were Sasuke this would be a great time to make an appearance. With everyone being distracted by Pein, it would be a great chance to come and finish off the elders (especially Danzou, please Sasuke kill the bastard!!). It’s too good an opportunity to let pass. And a good thing all round if Sasuke gets his precious revenge and Danzou doesn’t become Hokage.
I agree it would be a great time for saduke to attack the elders…but the way kishi ended that last chapter i think(like alot of people)there is going to be some kind of flashback…but sasuke attacking the elders would be better to read at the moment
I agree with Yamato-san that it could be a symbol of “new age” but I don’t think Narutos quite ready for being Hokage yet he needs a alittle more traing before he can be called that so in the mean time if kakashi Lives and tsunade dies somehow maybe kakashi will become hokage.Like I said before The 2nd and him have a lot in common.

all naruto needs to become hokage is his determination and guts. no can beat and he has the gift of changing people and making new allies i think he would be a perfect next hokage even at his age.
also i do not see tsunade dieing yet or at all because i do not want another hokage dieing in an invasion it has been done to many times. also kakashi will not be the next hokage because if tsunade is made to resign danzou will be the next hokage then naruto. because kakashi should he was no hokage mater getting totally out classed by pain and running out of chakra. he does not have the stamina to have a long fight to protect the village.

i realized something when i was rereading the last chapter. when tsuande’s slugs are healing the fallen shinobi, she doesn’t say that she didn’t realize the number of injured ninja was so high…she used the word “casualties”…meaning that she was taken in count the dead and injured. it also looked like the unknown ninja was dead not just injured but the slug’s brought him back…so i think even if kakashi does die, it isn’t permanent. well if tsunade can get to him in a certain time period that is…time seems to always play a serious role in situations like this in naruto
@naruto_fan if tsunade resigns for some odd reason, danzou won’t be hokage. tsunade has made it clear that the most likely canadiate is kakashi then naruto. You are correct in sayin that kakashi lacks in chakra reserves, but where he lacks in that he has all the abilities of the next generation…Naruto’s determination,brain’s of shikamaru,taijutus like lee’s,genius like neji, sharighan like sasuke etc. That wat makes him suck a great character. Even with him lacking in chakra he has defeated numerous S-rank ninja. pain was the first just to make it through, but pain himself even said that if kakashi stayed alive he would be a problem. kakashi was able to fight at the kage level against pain and catch pain off guard a few times, he might not have been on pains level but he is hokage material

i haven’t lost all faith in tsunade-sama all together yet…im pretty sure(fingers crossed) that she has some back as secret techniques in her arrsenal, she just hasn’t been put in the position to break them all out. she is a sannin and beat the hell out of j-sama, and even had orchimaru worried because he’s never seen her true power…
@sorinax good point about naruto lacking experience…maybe thats why kishi focused on the kage bushin when it comes to him so he can obtain that experience faster than normal shinobi
Even if naruto does become hokage Kakashi will always be a canidate right? I think if kakashi dosen’t become hokage he should be the anbu squad leader or someone important.
I was about to say that Kakashi’s ideals seem much more similar to Jiraiya than Tsunade or any of the past Hokages…but then I realized that while there are a few similarities between Jiraiya and Kakashi, there is one major difference, both of them went on journeys of self-discovery…but Kakashi was the only one of the two who returned to the village. Strong in that one the Will of Fire is. I still don’t see him as Hokage though. If there is gonna even be a new Hokage, I see it being Danzou, just based on Kishi’s writing style. It would make for some pretty good drama, a lot of dissension in Konohagakure between the ranks.
the elders will probably choose danzou over kakashi because he controls the elders. and kakashi is to weak to be hokage. naruto for hokage if he beats pain because he will become the strongest person in kohona.
if danzou becomes hokage then the sceniro mentioned on here about sasuke killing him is going to happen but sasuke won’t be the hero is the only difference
i hope kakashi dont die. or danzou becoming hokage. but if danzou become hokage sasuke is not going to be a hero if he kills danzou.

Now that a few of my fears and thoughts in my first posting came true I feel the urge to write my second comment.
I am really really so god damn sure that Kakashi isn’t a goner. You will all agree that Kishis style is pretty obvious at times, especially considering the deaths of Key characters. Only the Third, Jiraya and Asuma died up til now – and only the Perv-Hermit had direct impact on the main character Naruto. *if you dont count Asumas advice in Wind manipulation, which I think was only implemented to give Asuma some appearance in the Manga before killing him off*
But still every single one of those three died worthy a hero, sacrificing themselves in a great matter to save their comrades. Some may say that Kakashi did the same – But the way he left the stage was so very faint and not Kakashi-style at all.
Thats why I think he has either staged the whole thing to retrieve the info and let Pein (and maybe the others) believe he’s dead, so he can act more freely as a Missing Nin. Or its even simpler and he gets saved by a medical jutsu. But the latter would be tooo repetitive after for example the whole Gaara thing… It would suck to be honest!
As I predicted Killerbee is safe. Sadly obvious. I’ll stay on my point that he will come to train Naruto. Maybe after Pein is defeated, that fits the scedule of “One Arch Enemy”-”One Training Session”.
But I also think theres plenty to go after that. There are still a couple Akatsuki left so Im fully prepared for another two years Naruto… *sigh* ^^
But in the end its all up to Naruto and Sasuke I guess. Naruto will face Pein, Sasuke will face Madara.
I’m pretty sure the Kyuubi will get extracted from Naruto, revealing the whole plot what the tailed beast extraction is REALLY for. Then Naruto will have to face whatever it is with his own power. Naruto will be able to finally control his chakra perfectly without the fluctuations of the Kyuubi chakra.
Naruto wins, refuses the offer to become Hokage – and becomes an Ero-Sennin himself. Konohamaru becomes Hokage instead. Teh End.
I really hope none of Naruto turns out to be this way though.
What if they do show a flashback, but it just gives us clues as to how Kakashi makes it out of this situation. Kishi has alot to play with going forward. Like Plaintive said, I also believe the 9tails will be extracted from Naruto, but I think that since its been in him so long, maybe it effected his chakra, and he will keep the huge reserve.
@yamato-san i thought naruto’s chakra reserves were natural not from the kyuubi???isn’t naruto’s fast healing abilities a result of having the kyuubi???this is not an attack towards you, just trying to find out whats correct.either way i agree if the nine tails is extracted watever abilities naruto abtained from having him will still remain in some fashion because they have been bonded together for so long…same thing happened to garra after the one tails was removed from him…he still had control over the sand.
My guess is that the Kyuubi’s influence expanded Naruto’s natural chakra reserve limit.
Imagine it as a glass. The one half is full of water (Naruto), the other with oil (Kyuubi) and constantly oil keeps pouring into the glass (Kyuubi chakra was mentioned to be limitless) and flowing over. The whole glass is coated with oil.
If it vanishes, the glass will have plenty of room for all the water.
Yes DarkShinobi, Naruto’s increased healing ability is a result from constant influence of the Kyuubi’s chakra. As you remember you can see the peak of this feature when Naruto is in four-tailed state.
to bob, god realm pein has not left, kakashi says that he cannot use another full bodied space/time ninjutsu, in which we see asura pein ponder when he see’s that his missile has been destroyed, kakashi used his space/time ninjutsu to destroy god realm pein, danzou is a basterd and kakshi must survive lol D:!!!
@76: the concept of naruto having a better relationship(!) with the kyuubi has been on my mind since his earlier conversations with the beast. I’ve always thought that given how long it has existed, the beast must have amassed a lot of knowledge. However, given the fact that it is such a total nutcase about killing, it would have been implausible for it to tolerate Naruto’s lack of a killer instinct (as in the battle with Haku).
Killerbee seemed to have a very good partnership with his bijou, almost to the point of seeming like a friendship. If ever Naruto and the kyuubi got to that point, I think that would be an unbeatable combination.
A couple of other thoughts:
We all wonder about the absence of the other main characters, but I guess that it is very difficult to write even a mention of so many others, then pack it into the limited space of the manga pages.
Yeah, Kakashi should breed
. So much talent needs to be continued… However, someone who reads “Makeout tactics” is very likely to have issues in approaching women (could he be shy around women? lol). If ever he got up to it tho, he would probably have to keep his family secret; outside of Konoha he’s probably the most hated shinobi in his generation…
Re Sasuke turning up: is Sasuke and his team in any shape to battle right now? Have they recovered to join this battle?
