Naruto Manga Chapter 421: Faith and Treachery

Pein’s attack on Konoha continues in chapter 421, though the full scale fighting has not started yet. There was certainly more talk in this chapter than actual fighting, but I’m glad we finally got to see Tsunade take a stand against the geezers of the Konoha council. Though Danzo’s treachery near the end was really a surprise, and also raises some questions what his own agenda is. Although short, we also get a short continuation of Kakashi’s battle against God Realm Pein, but with the arrival of Demon Realm Pein, Kakashi may have more on his hands than he can handle.
But before I talk about those things, I wanna touch on the single panel in this chapter which showed a glimpse of Naruto’s training progress. That scenery looked familiar, and sure enough if you look back on chapter 418 you’ll see that it is the same location that Naruto was practicing at the night before; except now most of those jagged structures (I can’t tell if they’re plants or rock formations) have been cleanly cleaved to pieces. If you remember back to Temari’s fight against Tayuya, the aftermath of her wind jutsu on the forest looks similar to the scene in front of Naruto. This for sure is an indication that the jutsu Naruto has been secretly practicing is Wind chakra based. And so far we know that Naruto possesses only one Wind-based technique at his disposal: the Rasen Shuriken. Tsunade has warned Naruto about its hazardous side-effects, but maybe Naruto believes he can overcome those while in Sage mode. By comparing the scene in chapter 418 to the one in 421, we can also see that Naruto has increased the range of his Rasen Shuriken just from a night’s practice (Note where Naruto is standing in both pics relative to where that small bridge on the left is positioned). Naruto has definitely developed a super-powerful long range jutsu – a huge boost in its effectiveness if it is indeed the Rasen Shuriken. Naruto has always been a close range fighter up to this point; with the addition of this jutsu I think he will finally become a more rounded ninja. I hope to see Naruto use it soon on Pein, except…
Damn that Danzo and his scheming ways. Tsunade was just about to send off that messenger toad to get Naruto when that bastard Danzo killed it. The goggles the toad was wearing kinda reminded me of what Naruto wore before he got his forehead protector. Is that panel with the blood and fallen goggles foreshadowing something? And what is Danzo’s agenda anyways? It seems like he was the one who told the other elders that about Pein’s intentions to capture Naruto and probably urged them to confront Tsunade. But is he trying to keep Naruto away because he does not want him to fall into Akastuki’s hands or does he have something more sinister planned and just doesn’t want Naruto to interfere?
It was very satisfying seeing Tsunade manhandle the geezers when they tried to order her not call back Naruto. She should have done this a long time ago in my opinion. She’s the Hokage, the leader of Konoha and strongest shinobi in the village, and that should mean something. Besides, it was the elders who requested Jiraiya to find Tsunade and convince her to be Hokage in the first place. They should respect her judgment. I agree with Tsunade’s choice in calling Naruto back and her choice of words was perfect: Faith. Many characters in the past have said similar things about Naruto. He was someone you knew instinctively would pull through no matter what. Jiraiya believed that to the very end and Tsunade will carry on his wishes.
On the action side, we see Sakura deal a lethal punch to the giant centipede which was summoned by Animal Realm Pein. I found it funny how some of the people running away at the beginning were wearing Chunin vests, so they obviously must be Konoha ninjas, yet they chose to save their own asses and didn’t even bother to try to save the little girl. But seeing how easily Sakura killed that beast, perhaps defeating Pein’s bodies may not be so difficult as I thought. It would also be nice to see Tsunade facing off against one of the Peins, but it looks like she’s needed to help heal the wounded. However, I think there’s a chance Shizune will be targeted since she is carrying one of Pein’s receiver substances. If Shizune is attacked, I’m certain Tsunade will have to come to the rescue.
The major battle in this chapter is Kakashi vs. Pein. Kakashi can’t figure out what Pein’s last jutsu was composed of because it did not feel like an explosion’s shockwave to him. To test his opponent’s defences, Kakashi unleashes a new jutsu: a lightning dog, to attack Pein. Yet Pein’s defensive blast activates again and nulls Kakashi’s jutsu. Pein then calls reinforcements and Demon Realm Pein arrives on the scene. I think it’s a sign that Pein acknowledges that Kakashi is not someone to be underestimated. But this is gonna be serious trouble for Kakashi if his own reinforcements arrive. And like some of you mentioned in the comments already, I also think Gai is the perfect partner for Kakashi for this fight.

It would be great if Naruto can report back to Konoha on time to help. But with Danzo killing the messenger-frog can he make it before its too late?

and now…we saw naruto has taking more advantage in sage mode for practicing impressive technique in long range attack…however, i’m still thinking what itatchi’s power gave to him…i think, it will be active sooner when they’ll meet again his friend, that sasuke make wrong move/decision to kill all elders including one, tsunade…no way!!!…
aside of it…the battle with 2-on-1…kakashi vs pein??…no doubt…all jutsu kakashi use has no effect or no use at all…it seem he will force him to use MS over God realm and Demon realm…and after it kakashi will exhaust…he will back to hospital or directly to funeral…and some says the perfect partner of kakashi is gai…yeah, i miss him too, so much…and best suited for demon realm is gai…

Nice analysis as always bob, as i keep maintaining i believe gai will come to kakashis rescue, a thought that just came to me, the real pein fight has not started as yet, reason for this , just like when orochimaru attacked the leaf village, they nver launched a counter attack until everyone was safely away, so i believe they are more concentrating on evacuations right now.
Danzo is a bastard in ever sens of the word, i mentioned t the fact that he may be trying to save naruto earlier, but naruto isnt just some kid and fukasaku would have instructed naruto on a good plan of action.

and the thing about foreshadowing, I highly doubt Naruto will die, for 3 reasons: 1. He needs to b Hokage at the end; 2. sage + demon + duplication = ass kicker; 3. Hinata has to come clean w/ her obsession, and Naruto has 2 score someone as sexy as Hinata
I liked this chapter very much and I’m glad the story is moving along so well. I’m sure Pa toad will find out about the Com-Toad being killed and will figure out that Pein has started attacking. Will he let Naruto go, or will he keep him there? Guess we gotta wait and see.
One thought came to mind, because Shizune is holding one of the chakra receivers, I wonder if Pein could control her if those sticks touch her skin.
I still hate danzous guts but I cant help but to be curious of what the hell he is doing. I mean really, what is his motive. I just hope that Naruto still has some hope of getting back to konoha. And mart 1 konohamaru wouldnt be able to summon frogs since he needs to make a blood pact with them and jaryai was the only one who carried the scroll.

i personally believed that the frog danzou attempted to killed isnt dead! notice that kishi never show the frogs body, that means that the frog was able to go back to where naruto is at. but i do think that the frog is severly injured. plus kaskashi rocks and hes not going to die. hes going to beat pein(god realm) and gai-sensi is going to fight pein(animal realm). Expect gai to start summoning turtles. lol
gai and akkashi would use chidori and gates in combination gai would hidden lotus then kakashi uses chidori in back then kakashi would use the lighting dog again from the air after that then peacock to finish it off

I believe this week is a week of sadness. I can’t help but feel saddened by Danzo’s betrayal at the end combined with the anime episode 80 with Asuma’s Last words.
However, I’m hoping all is for naught on Danzo’s Part. I’m hoping Fukasaku is ready to end Naruto’s Training and return him to Konoha next weeks release.
I have a feeling though that there will indeed br more deaths of our favorite village.

About time Naruto gets a new jutsu that is a long range attack.
As for Danzou he showed his true colours I bet he will over throw Tsunade and take control of Konoha with the eldersHe will use Naruto as a puupet of his own free will. One thing that came to my mind is that he wants Konoha destroyed. With no Naruto there and cause no one really can get to Toad Mountain, Pein will oblieviate Konoha to try and find out where he is. When this happens, Tsunade will look bad and causing a shift in power to him. Also he could also make a pack with Pein and hand deliver Naruto to them in exchange for power. Either way danzou is vying for control of Konoha
I know Kakashi is a fan fav with some girls but I think he will die dealing with 2 Peins or be seriously wounded. Gai will show up in a blaze of glory and save him but hard to say

hmmmm….isist me or does anyone else notice that kakashi has a somewhat confident tone when he says “so it repels both physical attacks and ninja techniques, impressive..now what should i do?” then he says again “another one eh?….i sense allot of confidence in his speech. it almost sounds a little patronising………from what i get from that page, i do not think kakashi is afraid.
hinata is not hot i agree with theory maker, i think she is just cute maybe if she where something else because that jacket makes her look fat, sakura, konan, and ino are hot also this chapter proved that sakura is the strongest female of her generation.
i think naruto comes back he will save sakura if she is in danger if he come back in time it would be better because he has feeling for her and he does not even know hinata like him or even notices her.

Danzou probably wants the village destroyed, including Tsunade’s death, so he can rebuild from the ashes like he wanted to do when Orochimaru threatened them. Of course, the ulterior motive of that first Shippuuden mission was for Sai to kill Sasuke, eliminating the threat to the village. Alternatively, he might not want Naruto to come back for two reasons, good and bad. He might want to keep him as a trump card he can play against Pein later. Or he might not want to risk him going on a Kyuubi rampage and completely taking out the village.
Naruto’s new jutsu is probably not the RasenShuriken. He developed that on his own during nature training, but kept referring to this new one as “that” jutsu, the one Jiraiya taught him about and the one Minato wanted his son to complete with the Fox’s power. From the effects, it kinda reminds me of DBZ Krillin’s energy saw blade that could cut through mountains. Only awesomer.

And I do think the frog is dead. Kishi just didn’t want to show a frog getting cut into pieces, and if Danzou was still standing there in the next panel, a shinobi like him would have been able to tell if it was still alive.
alright i guess its time for kakashi to step his game up now. its a good thing kishi is showing more of kakashi’s justsu’s as well, cause in the begining they said he copied well over a thousand techniques so its no telling what he will pull out of his bag next. as for god pein, i think he called for helped because he has to specific attacks. don’t forget each pein specify in a certain attack and god pein is to protect and that is why he uses a barrier, because he can’t fight kakashi straight up that’s why he called for help. demon pein is problaby more suited for combat thats why he called him. but kakashi will be okay, he will find a way to break that barrier as well as defeat both those peins if he has to. kakashi is a genius after all and tsunade consider him to be the best of the best in the first serious.
don’t underestimate the sharingan as well, we know that it allows the user to use all elements and copy all techniques thats not a kekageki, also it allow the user to see what his appointent gonna do before his appointent does. so don’t underestimate kakashi, i know we are gonna probably see another ms technique from him as well. the ms normally grants 3 new techniques to the user so hopefully we will see something new in this battle to come. go kakashi
as for danzou he was probably we seen in the filler arc that he was plotting something big and tsunade had anbu watching him, but now that the village is under attack its a perfect time if ever to put his plans into work, with no anbu watching him he can conduct his plans without being caught. u gotta give to that old fart he is one slick bastard. what he is planning and how its gonna go, that we will have to wait and see but for now he can operate freely and not under the radar.
I dont think that Pein is overstrained with Kakashi, he is just too lazy.
He only shows defensive skills, want to see his offensive jutsus.
Seems to me that pein just play with Kakashi.
But I also think that Kakishi will show his strongest weapon and that means his MS.
I feel everyone in Konoha believes that what they do serves the village in the best way possible. Not to justify Danzou, but I feel the he isn’t as truly bad as everyone thinks he is, he will do what it takes to better the leaf in his eyes(of course I’ll swallow my words and bow down if he turns out to be Tobi). I still feel what he has up his sleeve and his destiny in the series will be similar to Itachi’s fate, that of a martyr. And Root hasn’t disbanded yet either, he could’ve been waiting for an opportunity like this to show to the village how competent he would be as a leader by unveiling a devastating military strategy. He is a dick though, don’t get me wrong, the death of the goggle frog made me cringe.
Speaking of Hinata too, this would be a perfect chance for her to show her stuff, she has no idea where he is, but if she finds out Pein is looking for him she will lay her life down on the line to keep him from getting the info he seeks. Sakura would too, but I have a feeling the medics are going to be very busy.
I feel it would be an awesome chance for Kishi to kill off Kakashi, but he won’t(though I wish he would). There’s too much of Kakashi’s life left to be explained.
Could the cloud come to the rescue in this battle? New battle techniques are always such a treat to watch.
I’m starting to beleive that Madara might be danzo, although this is probably what kishi is trying to get us to do. If you think about what Madara said when he was talking Sasuke right after Itachi’s death, “he was the one IN THE LEAF VILLAGE to NOTICE me”. This statement leads the possibility that he is very prominant in the village and just well hidden. So well that it takes a master of the mangekyo sharingan to see through the technique. This would hold true in the village where he is mizukage. This would also hold a testament to how powerful the third was if he was able to defeat madara without loosing his life (something the first hokage couldn’t do). Although, then again if it were Madara, then he wouldn’t be using his eye techniques and he wouldn’t have been using the nine tailed fox, so maybe that would give the third extra credit. Still, its something to think about.
You know it is funny to see that 13 percent of peoepple who did the poll selected because fried frog legs are deliious, also i hope the foreshadowing of the goggles doesnt mean that naruto dies, but i also think that naruto will be pushed to become really powerful because i think (like in all animes) when it get to the point the hero cant do it unless someone dies.. i think uhmm lets see if i spell this right i think konohamaru is going to die, and that will enrage naruto, but who knows, im just soo glad things are physical now, also abou tthe picture with naruto’s new jutsu , i cant see really wat differences in th two , but my eyes suk, but thx for puttin out it was simuylar to temari, cas i remmber that, uhmmm nuttin else to put that soomeone is eithwer gonna find the dead frog(doubt that would happen become danzo is leader of root and far too experienced) or naruto will sense that its time for him to go. also……………… ( HANZO RULES ALL ) nice analysis BOb

It also occurs to me that although I hate the thought of it, its time for Kakashi to die. Naruto makes leaps and bounds when he is forced into an emotional corner. When sasuke left he got stronger with Jiraiya. The second Jiraiya kicks the bucket he learns his old technique and masters it in a couple of hours to be rediculously strong. If Kakashi dies it will be the last straw. His nerves will go numb and he will go full out kyuby against pein. After he calms down he will master kyuubi through pain and hatred and become very strong. The only downside is that he might end up on the dark side. Still, another thing to think about.
Konohamaru doesn’t wear the goggles anymore yeshua, he switched to the headband “just like Naruto”. Its a good thought though. I think the goggles stand for youth and innocence. Its a good thought that someone in the youngest generation might die.
if Konohamaru had a summon that should be unique to his family’s abilities…it would be Enma, I really hope that the secret of the pact with Enma didn’t die with the third
I don’t think pein will loose as long as ANimal relm exists and is able to summon pein’s other bodies away if he seems to be in a jam (because remember they’re all being controlled at once).
Naruto can’t come back to Konoha now… because there’s no one there to sumon them so he’ll have to walk back which I believe was said to take about a month…. AAAAAAGGGGGGHHHHH… our hero will get there WAY too late… I hope I’m wrong but I don’t think anyone else can summon people from frog mountain besides naruto, jiraiya, minato, and… other frogs.
I think this will give Naruto time to get to know the Key frog in figuring out how to unleash more Kyuubi energy. I thought Naruto was coming to an end in another year but it looks like it may be stretched out a bit because Naruto can’t face pein yet and Mr. Eight tails is off singing Enka.
I wonder what danzo’s master plan is. Is he going to go school Pein? and then Sasuke will show up and accidently torch the place. Remember he’s on the move towards Konoha… or perhaps he is dealing with Madara who he said he was going to kill a while ago.
And Karin is Pregnant. I know it.
Oh… and in old manga where Naruto faces Kakuzu he keeps saying how monsterous Naruto’s jutsu is. He must have figured out how to throw it.
I wonder, will Danzo be joining the battle against pein?
I mean, if he wants to rule konoha, hes going to have a dificult time if everyone is dead.
And he must be a powerful ninja if there is such emphasis on being the leader of root.
I dunno, just a thought.

Bob, I can’t help to think that you’re wrong. Naruto is not cutting those mountains apart with the rasen shuriken. There is just no way. For two reasons 1) That cloud in the first one is has nothing to do with the rasen shuriken, but the cloud is definetly important 2) In first couple of chapters of shippuden, Jyria tells Naruto NEVER to use “that” new technique. He can’t be refering to the Kyubi b/c Naruto doesn’t have control over it. I’m almost positive about this one. It might have wind based element or it might not, but whatever it is its going to be epic/amazing!

If shikamaru and his father got all of them in a shawdow bind and konoha nins take off their heads together like asuma did with hidan maybe that will work
But over all the chapter was decent and I can’t wait to see naruto come back and save his sensei if not kakashi is a goner

I think killing the frog means only that the communication is cutting.
But if Fukasaku can sense frogs death or Naruto finish his training earlier than excepted, he could return to Konoha right in time to save Kakashi or Tsunade. And the next headline is Kakashis hope and Naruto is the only one in Konoha who can beat Pein.

Hello, I think this was a good transition to the real heat of the ensuing hellish battle. All of this chapter shows how much we will be entertained and captivated in the following manga issues.
Finally, we got to see Sakura in action. What surprises me about the scene in which he appeared is that the rest of chunin are just buttloads of crap (except the previously known genins from Teams Kakashi, Kurenai, Asuma, and Gai)! My hope is that all of the Naruto acting crew show up to face the Max Peins. I think the Byakugan could be essential in understanding the Peins and their Rinnegan.
Tsunade really demonstrated the boob supremacy she has over her breastfed kingdom of Konoha. Finally, gosh! Even if they find out who Pein is and what his strength is, Pein would not be killed because of the fact that Naruto should be the one to avenge the Pervy Sage.
Naruto’s new technique remains unknown. All we know is it must be a wind one. I wonder what that is, but if it is so topsecret for him, then it must be the one Jiraiya forbade him to use.
Kakashi, like I predicted before, showed a new technique. I wonder if he has copied useful techniques that will help him win against Pein (although I doubt he will kill him). If you have noticed, Kakashi nevers go allout seriously. I believe that he has so much he has not shown. He can’t be bad. His reputation is a vastly spread one. Why would God Pein call his brother or something to help him against Kakashi? If it were not by Kakashi, most of the battles against Akatsuki would have never been one…He must have something up his sleeve to deal with Pein since he appears so confident. Come on! Additionally, he can’t die (I guess) because Konoha will need a Sharingan user to cope with situations against Madara and Sasuke. However, the last page casts light on what may be a future epitaph. I wonder what his hope is… Anyway, whatever happens, we will soon now all about Kakashi’s life…and see his face.
Now that Danzo disable the cellfrog, Naruto will not help in battle, like I thought a long time (I am not quite sure if I shared with you). He will come back when Konoha is in deep…ruins. Since Danzo seems to want to keep Naruto away from Konoha, the Danzo=Madara theory weakens sharply because apparently (most obviously) Madara wants to get all the Bijuus captured. Does Danzo want to save the village to show his superior capability over Tsunade? What will Danzo do against Pein? And if he is Madara, then he wants to keep Naruto hidden from Pein and kill Pein off? If you remember in the filler arc, Danzo had a spy in the Hidden Rain, where Pein reigns. From this is could be inferred that he has been investigating about Pein. He knows more than he showed. Maybe Madara wants to kill Pein to let him govern the ninja world alone by fooling him and using Konoha as the final trap for him, although he is not there after all.
Now that I’ve said this, we could think that Konoha could indeed get rid of the Peins for sure. Kakashi could live very well and the others as well. The real Pein after all would be annihilated there cause he is not there after all. At least by fighting his bodies with the information gathered, they will learn more or all about him.
Because of Danzo’s plot, which surely is becoming Hokage, Kakashi or anybody could not become Hokage cause he will interfere.
Finally, I have to say that Naruto will not find out anything about Konoha until he decides to return when he is fully trained and informed about his father’s inheritance and scroll frog thingy. I wonder if Fukasaku can sense the death of one of his frog subordinates? Anyway, I am a big supporter of a time expansion on Naruto. I think he will not become Hokage until he is an adult. This will be like DBZ…long… C’mn! He is only 15.
Something else to add, where is Team Hawk and the guys from Kumogakure? Will they join the fight? That will be interesting. A colossal battle with many skilled shinobi! Mega century clash! Will Sasuke learn about his failure in seizing the 8 tails? Where is the 8 tails, what will he do?

Nagato is using the chakra receivers to control the bodies from his base in the Hidden Rain Village. Recall Jiraiya’s message “the real one isn’t there” and that all the bodies of Pein he faced were shinobi he had encountered before… The chakra receivers are amplifiers to allow long-range control via his eye technique…

Yea thats true, Uchiganta, and thats exactly why Shizune and Shika is trying to find out, about the secret of Pain. They are pretty sure someone is controlling them, but they still not sure how and from where. I think Kakashi also had a glimpse of his secret, wen he used the chidori and he saw that 2 Ren’ningan Eyes is watching him.

it is not the raseshuriken the jutsu naruto is practicing because if you remember when naruto pick up the statue after being able to use sage chakra he said maybe i can do it and then pa asked him what and he said nothing. people keep saying that after he fell off the cliff he was not hurt so the rasenshuriken can not hurt him but he spoke about the jutsu before he knew that he can not be hurt in sage mode. so it is a new jutsu that requires a lot of chakra to perform while he was able to use the rasehshuriken before without needing much chakra also if the was this jutsu why would he be hiding it because tsunade did not tell him directly it was forbidden he told kakashi and when he tried to tell naruto, naruto brushed it off saying he knew his own body so he would not hide it from pa. it has to be the jutsu jiriaya warned him not to use before he wen to rescue gaara.

Defeating Pein’s bodies is pretty simple: Ninja’s just have to pick out all the chakra receivers. Think about it, the bodies are already dead if Pein is controling them, so any physical damage is harmless really. And now that Shizune has found out that those piercings are actually chakra receiver, it makes sense. The only thing that i have questions about is how did Pein get ahold of the Bodies that Jiraiya has meet?

The first thing I want to say is that I don’t think the transmission frog that Pa toad left behind escaped Danzou’s attack. And I say this because I don’t think he could have successfully done a reverse kuchiose and have left the goggles and a whole lot of blood behind. So my point is that Naruto will have to be contacted through other means about the rampage that is currently taking place in Konoha.
Secondly, I can’t stress enough how happy I am that Shizune extracted all of the demodulation devices that were implanted throughout the body of the Pein that was in the autopsy. And I say this because, I’m not sure about this, but I think that Pein can call forth any one of his bodies, no matter how damaged, as long as his brain is intact, and the demodulation devices are in place. Some proof of this would be that fact that only the black sticks reacted to Pein’s chakra. Imagine what could have happeed if they were still implanted in the body.

Could Danzo be Nagato?
What is Danzo thinking, killing that poor frog!?! What a frog Murderer! If the frog in fact died, hopefully pa toad will be able to sense this and it would throw up a caution flag. It looks a Naruto has fine tuned his Jutsu and is able to throw it instead of being right behind the attack, which in return would be less devastating on his body. @ Shannaro defender. What if Nagato followed jiraya through some of his travels under the radar. It would be hard b/c of the caliber of a shinobi Jiraya is, but how else would he be able to find the bodies, or learn of the deaths of the bodies. With kakashi out numbered 2v1, I can only hope for a Guy-Kakashi reunion. That guy always has Kakashi’s back in the pinch.
Just a theory, what if Nagato got injuried in his travels through life that keeps him immobile, quadrapaligic maybe, but still has perfect mental ability. Learns to use or even about the chakra recievers, but later yahiko dies. Instead of burying Yahiko, Nagato uses yahikos body for what later turns out to become a realm of pain. All the realms of pain have recievers, even the God Realm. God realm even states that he himself died some time in the past. Konan of the 3 is the only one without recievers, aka can not be controlled. My main point is there has to be a location where the body of Nagato is lying, though immobile, still controlling these other bodies with the recievers. Just a thought
After seeing this i’m 80% sure Danzo is Madara. Its slowly starting to seem more and more conviencing and with Madara’s ability to warp its very possible. What has been on my mind for awhile is how Madara knew of Itachi’s mission to wipe out his clan, something only the elders, the third, and Danzo (who came up with the idea for the mission to begin with). I dont know maybe its just me but it just seems too obvious, well not obvious but its easy to see the connection, and after this chapter it just makes it even more hard to not think as him as Madara. Though Pein’s main goal in Konoha is to capture the Nine-tails, Madara’s main goal is to destroy Konoha so if it means not capturing the Nine-tails in order to destroy the village then i can see why Danzo wouldnt want Naruto to come back to the village and help, seeing as it would mean even more fire power for the village.
I think we need to assess Danzo’s actions in terms of who benefits from them. Akatsuki does not benefit from Naruto not coming back, nor does Konoha, the only beneficiary is Naruto insofar as he is kept out of harms way. Given that the last time Naruto ofught in Konoha he accessed his Kyuubi chakra, (Naruto v `Neji Chuunin exams) Danzo could actually be attempting to protect Konoha from having to deal with both Pein and Naruto. i mean think about it, word of his 4-tails form against Orochimaru has obviously gotten back to the elders and so he could be afraid that a similar situation may arise given the fact that 4-tail form comes when he is highly emotional e.g. when it was with regard to Sasuke… what more Jiraiya!

As for Kakashi he actually has one option left and that is some form of doujutsu so its definitely MS time,I really doubt a genjutsu will work, so maybe he can do that dimensional rip doujutsu thing. Danzou being Madara could be true. He did use the same training techniques as the Hidden Village of the Mist, which if I am not mistaken is where Madara is the supposed Kage. This could be the part in the storyline where Madara decides to finally betray Pein/Nagato. The Pein bodies could definitely be killed off, but Nagato would still be alive. Also, someone in the village helped Itachi destroy the Uchiha Clan..could have been Danzou.

One thing on Tsunade’s impending death, has anyone noticed how when a character is going to die they have flashbacks about things we’ve already seen. The flashbacks themselves serve no purpose other than a reminder of that characters life and thus their death is made more meaningful. Basically, Kakashi hasn’t had flashbacks, we know nothing of him, he won’t die, Tsunade however, has had the signiture flashbacks, she’s gonna bite the dust.

the most epic battle of all TIME, but let’s get serious kakashi will go threw hell before he dies, and against pein he will, but if Gai or Naruto shows up, mainly Gai, Their chance of winning raises exponentially

I’ve made a little analysis on Pein’s progress in his fight against Kakashi. So here’s what I came up with:
1. Pein pierces Kakashi’s shoulder with a combat type demodulation device. A simple move which lands, although to my surprise, since Kakashi can read his opponent’s moves with the sharingan. This could mean that the rinnegan might be able to anticipate what the sharingan would anticipate and use higher speed to calculate more moves ahead, and finally land unanticipated blows on his opponents.
2. In the very moment before Kakashi landed his chidory (that would have been a 10th of a second or less before landing) he looses his focus and gives Pein the chance to avoid a possibly fatal blow. But why? Kakashi’s not someone to loose focus during a battle, not on his own anyway. So we need to find out what Pein did that caused both Kakashi and Jiraya (if you remeber) to feel a pair of eyes watching them from behind (a blind spot).
Now we all know how fast electricity is, so my bet is that the reason why Pein was faster is because he had a solid connection to Kakashi (the demodulation device), whereas Kakashi had to cover 1m maybe less air distance with his hand and technique before he could land a blow. So using this metrically small distance, but form an electrical p of view very high difference in conduction (air is weaker than solid in terms of conduction), Pein sends of chackra signals specifically designed to travel to the brain and give foreign signals to the enemy’s body, in our case the speed of chidory was reduced, and we all know how fast Kakashi’s chidory is. So having that ability is truly a feat indeed.
3. So Kakashi gets pierced and misses a chidory, which is (?) his fastest technique. I think Kakashi also figured this out by the time he missed the chidory because the socond thing to do was to end contact with Peind demodulation device. I took me a while to figure out what Pein did but it only took Kakashi another second maybe. Anyway after severing Peins advantage, Kakashi attempts a second chidory. And this is where the reinforcement to my theory comes into play. Why did Pein who was clearly playing around untill now (a missed kick and a landed stick pierce :p), had to turn on “his special ability”? in order to avoid the second chidory. Because he no longer had the advantage. This causes me to think that as long as Pein has one of those demodulation devices pierced into someone, he can avoid any ninja technique that requires concentration.
This is what I figured out so far. I’m still working on Pein’s false? shockwave, but I’ll get back as soon as I have something (;

Hrm why do people still think Danzo could be Madara? Isnt madara’s goal to capture all 9 bijuus and extract them? If it is then why on earth he wouldnt want Naruto to come back? Leaving him there training, he will get stronger and stronger day by day, and it will be hard for Madara to achieve his goals.

My guess is that maybe (if kakashi is lucky enough) god pain well let demon pain deal with kakashi while he continue to search for Naruto. Then we’ll get a higher chance of Tsunade vs god pain battle. If not, then god pain will try to end the fight quickly by double teaming kakashi. Then we’ll hope to see gai or yamato jump in on the action with a “Dynamic Entry!” which one seems more logic for god pain to do if you guys were him. Finish the battle with the most famous copy ninja kakashi (becuz he know pain where about and he’s strong enough to stop pain.) or distract him with demon pain and go on the main objective? (divide and conquer)
Oh and ofcourse HINATA IS HOT!!! Just imagine a real girl who looks like that…Owooooo. Not only that her personality is better than Ino or Sakura and she the only one outta those three who believe in Naruto.

@96 Some of the newer people seem to be really thoughtful in their comments of recent. I thought I might just be imagining things but I’m glad i wasn’t the only one who noticed it. Typically I expect the veterans to have the well-thought-out ideas and thought provoking comments/observations.
i really do not like the idea of other characters other than naruto shining in the fight with pain because it is like krillian or yamsha fighting cell instead of goku. also i think the best fights in the entire manga where when naruto was part of them like against gaara and sasuke. for some reason when other characters fight it does not seem as intresting as when naruto fights. i want him to at least fight the puppet pain in kohona to show us the strength he has gained in sage mode and his secrete jutsu he has been working on. he does not have to fight the real pain yet that could be until he gains the power to do the scroll jutsu.

If something is a blood line , a move perhaps , its should be in your dna , or somesort… so how is it possible for kakshi to use the sharingan since its not liek uchiha blood is going through his veins but only his blood going through an uchiha’s eye… if that was the case i would be able to snatch byukuyang(didnt spell right) neji’s eye and use that and steal idk sasuk’es eye and maybe implant a rinnengan eye into the middle of my head (for all you yuyu haka sho fans out there ) like hei, thus closing my point, take a peron’s body part inorder to achieve part of someone’s bloodline move: example , fire can run through my hands for blood line, someone chops off my hand and uses it for theirs… are they able to use it now?… anyways (HANZO RULES)

Hey everyone (: there are some really interesting theories flying around. About Kakshi going blind. I think that only people with their own pair of Sharingan eyes can o blind. So far people who got/took them from siblings had EMS and didn’t go blind. Madara took his from his brother and Kakashi received one eye from Obito.
And about Tsunade dying, I think that it’s a very probable outcome. Story wise, naruto has to become Hokage at some point. My point is that there has to be an opening for someone else to become Hokage. The 3rd came back after the 4th passed? away, and Tsunade became the 5th after Sarutobi died. One would be prone to thinking that a similar case (Tsunade dying) would set the path for the 6th. The problem is that if Tsunade does die, as long as the old geezers and Danzou are in the picture, I don’t think Naruto will have a chance to become the 6th, politically speaking.
Last thing. If Tsunade really has to go down, I’m expecting Kishi to show us what the last of the Sannin is really made of and deliver some planet splitting punches. Go Tsunade (:
Ow and about Pein’s taijutsu/ninjutsu repelling shockwave that I was talking about a few comments back. And the only probable answer I found was that it has to do with some special ability that only persons who have the Rinnegan (or maybe higher levels of it, like the different stages of the Sharingan) would be able to perform.
In the first attack, there’s a clearly visible wave that is literally blasting Kakashi away. This means that the air is moving, but in order to make air move in all directions starting from the center in a 360 perfect half sphere around an individual… well that would normally be impossible. You need air to come from somewhere and the circulation/shockwave should be created through physical movement, like Temari’s fan. But Pein didn’t move and inch, he just stared/activated the technique with his eyes and a lot of compressed air blasted from out of nothing. My guess is that he can teleport space/air under very high pressure and manipulate it in order to repel any physical or ninjutsu attacks.
Now don’t get me wrong this could very well be a shockwave. Kakashi said that “it didn’t feel like a shockwave” not that it wasn’t. So I’m guessing the following chapters might reveal more about this interesting technique.

hey i remember a thing!!!!though it may sound irrevelent here but i was trying to rack my brains when i saw something back in ep.79 or mayb ep.80 in shippuden!back then when one of the shinobi from konoha(the guy with the partially distorted face)attacks kakuzu while his partner uses some ninjutsu involving crows all around….at that time the weird face tries to attack kakuzu with a black sword and even kakuzu becomes a little surprised….can this have any link to peins weapon????why did kakuzu get surprised even though Akatsuki have the most weird ninjutsus in the shinobi world????well just a thought!:P!
Most of you ppl think Danzo is Madara but I on the other hand think maybe he is Madara’s younger brother. Think about this, I don’t think madara ever mentioning that he kill his brothers. It was Itachi that lie to Sasuke about the whole story. Madara claims he took his brother’s eyes but he also admit he didn’t tell the truth about it either. Maybe he took his brothers right eye instead or they both had a plan and swap one eye for the other. Danzo is Madara brother with one left eye and Madara is Danzo’s brother with one right eye. Sound probable?

Danzo might not have the sharingan on his left eye but maybe he deactivate it and can switch it on whenever he want. Remember we haven’t seen Madara left eye either we only get a glimp of his right eye. Maybe it’s there or maybe it’s not. But that sure does make me wonder.

Yeshua: If you steal a body part used in a kekkai genkai then you can use it because it has the kekkai genkai in it. This is how Orochimaru obtained bloodline limit ninjutsu in his quest for knoledge and how kakashi can use sharingan. however it takes more chakra to use an implant because the body rejects it. Implants can also have adverse effects, just look at how kakashi’s sharingan is permenent or how only Yamanato survived out of fifty expeimental children.
