Sasuke finally takes the spotlight and decides to fight the Eight-Tails himself. I liked this chapter because it was all action and didn’t switch between scenes at all. I’m glad to see Kishi devoting the entire chapter to the fight, it’s best way to keep thing flowing and exciting in my opinion.
This Eight-Tails guy is kinda corny, but he cracks me up. He’s like a mix between Mohamed Ali (“Dance like a Butterfly, Sting like a Bee“), Ninja Gaiden (the scarf), and a bad rip-off of Snoop Dog. The English translations probably don’t do his crazy rhymes justice because they‘re hard to translate over from their Japanese meanings. There’s a lot of really bad word puns in Japanese and they’re only used by people who are trying too hard to be funny. The Eight-Tails Jinchuuriki is the same way - he’s trying too hard to be cool. But that’s okay, because despite his big mouth, he has the skillz to back up his words. His eight-sword attack pose is awkward, but that’s okay too because he managed to pierce Sasuke’s defences even beating the Sharingan.
According to Suigetsu, the Eight-Tails Jinchuuriki is some kind of sword master. And to be able to handle eight blades at once, I guess you have to be pretty skilled. His rolling Sonic and the Hedgehog attack was pretty funky. I’ve been trying to look up which fighting style gave Kishi the inspiration to create this unique one, but haven’t found a good match yet. My best guess is that Kishi got inspiration from the Capoeira Angola, a rhythmic fighting style originating from the Caribbean, and also the multi-sword style of One Piece’s Zoro. Only the Eight-Tails is over twice as badass as Zoro and can even channel chakra through his blades. Hey, there’s a good idea for a fantasy battle there: Zoro vs. the Eight-Tails 
Another thing to notice is that the Jinchuuriki has drawn out only seven swords so far. Where is the eighth sword? I’m guessing it’s probably some powerful ability or jutsu which he keeps reserved for more powerful opponents… Sasuke fits that bill pretty well. Anyways, from the battle so far, I think this fight will last longer than I had originally expected. And yeah, I don’t think anyone of us believes that Sasuke got killed by the Jinchuuriki in the last page of the chapter, right? Genjutsu, clone, replacement jutsu… take your pick, but there’s no way Sasuke would allow himself be taken down by some guy who just showed up a few chapters back.

Bob you aren’t the only one who made mistake with estimate time of fight.This will be a long battle,but I don’t want to watch another 7+ ch of Sasuke’s fight. Kishi do it again,he really want to rename this manga in” Sasuke” show.It will be Sasuke acting cool and his all-mighty -Sharingan-is-better-than-any-jutsu thing all over again.Why you doing this Kishimoto? Why? It becomes really boring.
I want to see Pain attacking Konoha,and battle between Tsunade and his rinengan.

Maybe Sasuke used a replacement technique and switched himself with Karin. Maybe he can’t stand her schoolgirl crush and switched places. Or maybe … and this is a really BIG maybe, he got hit on purpose to draw away the swords from MC Squid (I love that name) thinking it somehow affects his powers. I guess we just gotta wait to really be sure as to what happened to Sasuke. Still, I agree that this chapter was good in that stayed strictly on the fight. Hope it continues that way next chapter!

Capoeira Angola, just like pretty much every form of Capoeira originated from African immigrants brought by Portugal into Brazil…or the Caribbean… and Angola is a portuguese-speaking country somewhere in West-Central Africa, but i think MC Squid’s sword fighting is extracted from Korean Martial Arts… like Geonmu (Sword Dance) … idk… i’ll have to search about this.
i don’t think there is a specifical martial art where you are allowed to put the sword’s blade between your teeth… that reminds me of pirates…which strangely enough, mostly operated in the Caribbean.
…but the stance which he has…reminds me of Wushu… he has a sword under his knee, it’s a Wushu related stance…
some people pinpointed that it couldn’t be a genjutsu, what Sasuke is doing because MC Squid seems to be …blind ?
we don’t know if he’s bling or he’s just trying to be trendy… and i don’t think genjutsu could be sound related… but heck, what do i know…
And the Cliffhanger at the end makes no sense… this isn’t the end for Sasuke… Sasuke unlike Suigetsu doesn’t charge like an idiot…

For the fighting style, it looks like Capoeira but as for the sword dance hard to stay.

About his swords I think we can expect some special powers, like Samehada and Kusanagi, this new blades must hold some secrets.
Karin may show some skills now. Is about time she made herself usufull.

I noticed that his left side seems to be the weakness because he needs one leg as a base. I would assume that balance is an issue for him, and it seems as if he uses momentum to get his attacks in; therefore, if you disrupt his momentum, and then attack his weakest point the 8 tails will be defeated.
And, putting the swords on your limbs is just stupid… it doesn’t even seem like an area where you could hold onto the sword by your limbs. It could easily be knocked out… oh well. Im sure there’s going to be some reason for it.
I like how he hasn’t gone Kyuubi yet though. That’ll get interesting.

But i think where Sasuke is going to win is that he’s going to take the swords away from him and he will be left with fighting hand-to-hand and that’s where’s he weak at.

Good thing that Kishi focused on the fight between Team Bird and 8tj.
Cocky Sasuke thinks he has Akatsuki in the palm of his hands. I wonder how Madara would react to this kind of obnoxiousness. (note to Madara: order a hit on Sasuke ASAP, lol)
Team Bird showed excellent teamwork (sarcastic tone). Sasuke claimed this battle as his own, while the other three were nothing but his gushing and fussy audience. Karin is such a cupid stunt.
Now for the fighting strategy of the 8tj: I think his rapping skills (?) and gangsta demeanor is actually part of his strategy. He would want his enemies to undermine his abilities, even to think that he is some kind of a moronic punkster… in a Marilyn Monroe kinda way, lol. But then Sasuke is this emo genius, I’m sure he can see past the 8tj’s façade, unlike Suigetsu and Juugo. Can’t wait to see him in his Bijuu form.

And just like Naruto defeated Gaara beast with just a summoned frog well it was Gamabunta but still they did it so, that’s why i say if u take the 8-tails swords he’s in trouble because, i still don’t believe he can totally control the 8-tails if that’s the 8-tails anyway.

Unfortunately pairing her with someone like Sasuke who is smart in his own right, has the Sharingan to analyze his opponents, and not prone to accepting help does not give her many chances to show what she can do. We did get to see some of what she can do within her specialty when she correctly guessed how Naruto’s group was following Team Hebi and took steps to neutralize them.

This chapter really reminded me of itachi, by the means of the way sasuke fought the 8-tails.. how sasuke slipped his katakana out of his sleeve ! lol and the how fight felt like an illusion.. just like itachi’s way of fighting .. but yea i swear i look forward to reading bobs summary more than the chapter it self sometimes! lol

my response is i dont think that might happen cause that’ll take away the uniqeness of using 8 swords at once, cause i think that jinkuri (sorry cant spell it) was the first person in any anime to use 8 swords, and in most anime with swords a person i only using 1-2 swords or even 3 max like zolo.

One thing I thought might be noteworthy is that on page 5, Sasuke appears to be taking off his akatsuki cloak. Then when he is fighting he has it on like before, above his shoulders. I don’t know if this is a hint that he put the 8-tails in a genjutsu right after page 5, or if he just loosened the cloak for more freedom with his arms, and it somehow fastened back up while he was fighting.
The fight should be far from over, since both sides still have their trump card; Mangekyou, and demon form.
Obviously Sasuke isn’t done for yet.
Oh and I’m sorry, I’m sure they sound better in Japanese, but the 8-tails’ rhymes are so annoying.

// Aug 4, 2008 at 8:44 pmIt is worth noting that just before sasuke attacks, the Jinchuuriki’s ears prick up. this could be a hint as to the Jinchuuriki listening as opposed to seeing, which may be a hint to what the beast actualy is.
Also, I dont think it was genjutsu, as the other characters were commenting on the fight, and unless they are trapped in the genjutsu too (unlikely) then its most likely not a genjutsu.

As for the chapter, it was kind of short. I hope this fight isn’t like 8 chapters, and I really hope it doesn’t switch to Naruto or something next chapter.
The 8-tails move reminds me of Choji’s Spiked Human Bullet Tank, which was stopped by a sound attack. I don’t think Sasuke has any sound attacks in his arsenal, so he better find another solution.
This guy is pretty tough, but I’m thinking Sasuke hasn’t shown us all he’s got just yet.

Within minutes hes impaled by 6 of the swords, 7ths in his hand and the 8th is still up in theories. Granted hes fighting a Jinchuurichi, aka the 2nd strongest one and oldest (Experienced) Ive seen so far. Of Course hes not done. Replacement Jutsu, Genjutsu hes not out, but he did find out the hard way Mc Squid can manipulate elemental chakra. Who is turning out to be a bad mamajama. That pose was insane! As akward as it was, it did Damage! I hope Kishi keeps on with the battle cuz Id like to see Naruto’s progress later on the Battlefield. In Naruto we Trust

Consider wielding that many swords as just one practical example of what someone with beast chakra or Nature-infused chakra could do using enhanced strength.

SENJU-TSU
I got a feeling that all the guys in the cover of chapter 410 were SENJU: Sarutobi, Minato, Jiraya, Kakashi and Naruto. That binds also Naruto’s fate to Sasuke’s; and can explain why Kakashi said that the battles of “The Valley of the End†never ended (chapter 235or 236), may it be a reference to the linage from Madara to Sasuke, and from Hashirama to Naruto. Also there is a great chance that Kakashi signed the contract with the frogs, like his former sensei Minato. I wonder if he failed to attain the confidence of the frogs or just decided not to summon them in battle.
If I am not mistaken, Kazekage_dono question @21 will be answered SENJU – SENJUTSU, frogs, Hashirama linage, and power over the bijuus – not a coincidence.
But note that ANBU means “Ansatsu SENJUTSU Tokushu Butai†- “special assassination squadâ€. Weird !!.

- It’s getting clear that Sasuke only can trust on Jugo (Shugo). Suigetsu feelings are getting obvious. KARIN’s feelings are reaching a dangerous level; well crazy rejected love turns into hate sooner or later. I think this is important because I expect Karin to be super strong .Kishi’s kunoishis that aren’t weak are somehow mentally unbalance (exception Temari) – So being Karin the most crazy, she must be the strongest kunoishi.
- Sasuke underlined eyes (just like when he was fighting Itachi) indicate that he really see how powerful this enemy is. Finally will defeat someone strong (I said rhis already but I mean Oroshimaru was defeated by Itachi. Deidara killed himself, and Itachi was ill….) It’s also cool to see that we (that have hope on Sasuke) were not mistaken-
A side note Oroshi no Yamata weakness was related to women, sake…susanno … Can this be a hint that Sasuke will need Karin’s help in this battle?

The word Senjutsu can mean “hermit arts” (sen + jutsu), but also “tactics” (which would explain it showing in ANBU name). Closest japanese word to Senju I could find was Senjuu which means “occupying”. There are some longer versions incorporating Senjuu with various meanings of “aborigine” or “former occupant”. So Senju Clan might just mean they had no fixed home and wandered. Ultimately I think any similarity in the words is just a coincidence.

The senju clan could mean they were specialists in senjutsu, Remeber the first’s gengai was wood jutsu so this could mean this was their Forte’, and they fought the Uchiha. This kinda for shadows naruto vs sasuke, if the senju caln were senjutsu matsers then it might mean senjutsu is more powerful then the sharigan. The sharigan is a single genkai limited to eye sight although very powerful. Senjutsu is not so limited being that u r jus gatherring more energy. So depending on the ninja senjutsu can defeat sharingan, and mayb Minato was part of the senju clan bloodline???????

If you look closely when Naruto leaves to go to Toad land and is reversed summoned, their is a contract that list the Ninja’s who signed it. Jiraiya, Minato and Naruto on it, not Kakashi. It is showed in an earlier post by Bob. The names of the signed are in order of who signed them from oldest to newest. No Kakashi
