Standing on a hill over looking the valley, a tired traveller is on his way home. “It’s been so long that I’ve been away. Everything still looks the same.” He sees his home village in the distance and can hear the sound of life. He is anxious to see everyone, and yet nervous and scared. He didn’t leave on good terms, but hope that enough time has passed by that he could be forgiven. He walks down the hill and heads home.
He can feel the butterflies in his stomach, bouncing off the walls like crazy. He walks past the main gates and into the village. No one notices who he is. To them, he’s just another traveller. They don’t know where he’s from, not do they care.
After walking for what seems to be an hour, he stops in front of a part of town where a celebration is taking place. Children are laughing and playing. Music is playing, and the smell of food is everywhere. The butterflies in his stomach now turn to hunger pains. A little boy taps on the traveller’s leg, “hey mister, you lost?” “Chouzen, come here.” “Bye mister. Oh here, you look hungry.” The little boy offers him his cotton candy. The traveller smiles.
Thinking that he’s safe and no one remembers him, he walks around with confidence, eating and drinking as he pleased.
“Man, I missed all this good food!” He sits on a park bench watching life and wondering about everything he missed. He closes his eyes as they start to burn and starts to doze off. He can sense the people around him, and notices four shadows in front of him.
“Come with us.”
“Leave me be. I just ate. I’m tired and want to sleep.”
“You can tell that to the Raikage.”
“Damn … So that’s why.”
Grudgingly, the traveller stands and follows the men that were sent to get him. Within minutes, he stands in front of his old family home. It’s still in good condition and very much alive. “He waits inside,” and with that, the four leave. The butterflies have returned.
He walks up to the door and a young girl opens the door, “Hi, can I help you?” “Sari?” “Yes. May I help you?” He remembers when she was just a little girl barely old enough to walk. Now here she stands a beautiful young lady and unbeknownst to him, a very accomplished kunoichi. “I’m here to see the Kage.” “Please, follow me.” The few people in the house stare on. The traveller keeps his eyes straight and follows Sari to the back courtyard. “He’s by the pool.” “Thank you.”
It’s been ages since he’s been here. The once skinny trees have grown and matured. On one tree in particular, “Kama & Nalu Forever!” He puts his hand on the engraving and thinks back. His heart grows sore. Quietly behind him, a voice says, “You know she’d like to see you.” The travellers head hangs low. “Don’t play with me.” “She asks about you. She misses you.” “I mean it! Don’t play with me. Kage or not …”
“Even after all this time … such anger” “Piss off, Aina. Why did you call me here? How did you know I was even here?” “Do I need a reason to want to see my brother? I called you here because I sensed you close by. And I knew you were here, the same way you knew I was here. Your eyes hurt, doesn’t it? ” … a slight pause … “very well … come. Let us speak”.
“What I’m about to show you and tell you is confidential. No one, not even the council knows of it. They wouldn’t understand. Do you remember the war in Konoha regarding Akatsuki and the nine bijuu? I received a message from the Mizukage, that one of Pein’s bodies survived, and so did Orochimaru’s manservant Kabuto. They’ve already assaulted several villages and conquered them. It looks like the war isn’t over. Or a new one is beginning.”
“So? What place is it of mine? I have no place in it.”
“But you do. You’re here.”
“Coincidence.”
“You of all people should know, there is no such thing.”
” … “
The Raikage removes his headgear. “I prayed for you. Everyday. I even prayed that you would come home safely to help me with this new crisis. And here you are!”
“Again, coincidence.”
“Say what you will, and believe how you will. But I believe that you are here to help us. When we’re together, we’re unstoppable. Remember when we took on that punk Sokka and his Gofuuungan.”
“Yeah, he damn near killed us. I still got this huge scar on my leg. Punk.”
“But we survived. Now imagine if someone like him joined up with Pein and Kabuto. We’d all be in trouble. I know I’m asking a lot of you. But I ask, not as the Raikage, but as your brother, help us stand against this new threat. If Konoha falls, we all fall.”
“…”
“Tell you what. I’ll give you three days to think it over. I will inform the council of this notice by noon on Tuesday. You have until then. Until then, my home is your home. You are welcome to everything that is here. If there is something you want, just let one of the attendants know, and they’ll get it for you. And Nalu … welcome home.”

It seems like people really like the pictures. I was gonna ask a friend of mine to draw some stuff, but I actually found some pictures that worked out really well.
So thanks again everyone! It means a lot! Any and all criticism is appreciated.
