Zep: And, just because I can’t stand Gai’s and Rock Lee’s whinning, here’s team Gai.

Maito Gai

Once the news of an assassination attempt on Kakashi reached Gai, he sped to the Hokage Mansion to check on his dear friend. Kakashi ofcourse was fine, and tried to tell this to Gai, but was interrupted with his weeps. Once he stopped crying, Gai pleaded Kakashi to make him in charge of Konoha’s defenses. He swore that with him in charge, such a thing would never happen again. In order to shut Gai up, Kakashi agreed.

Gai took his new role as ‘The Defender of Konoha’ really seriously. He took over as commander of the 20 men platoon, and quickly doubled it, making it a 40 man platoon. He personally trained each new comer, and gave them strict exercises as punishment. This made the men stronger, and more determined to succeed. Making the ‘Gai 40 Platoon” one of the, if not the best military defense out of the Five Great Countries. After Shikamaru stepped down as General, Gai was given the job. He trained the rest of the army, as he did his ‘Gai 40 Platoon’. He quickly got promoted to Head of the Konoha Military, after the death of Ibiki (who was in charge at the time).

After the death of Kakashi, Gai felt that he had let his comrade down, and blamed himself for Kakashi’s death. Rock Lee would later come and cheer him up, by saying ” “Thanks to your 40 Platoon, and the army, alot of Konoha’s citizens survived.” “And, it wasn’t your fault Kakashi-sama died, he chose to in order to save Konoha. Knowing that it will be safe, as long as we have a great man like you to defend it.” This cheered Gai up, and stated that now he will work his hardest to protect Konoha, and it’s new Hokage, Naruto. He even stated, “As long as I live, no one will prevail against Konoha.”

Neji Hyuga

Nothing much has changed for Neji over the years. When he’s not training with Tenten and Rock Lee, he’s doing a mission, when he’s not on a mission, he’s training. However, with most of his friends trying to became Jonins, Rock-Lee in coma, and Tenten out of town. Neji (being a Jonin already) found himself with no one to train with, and nothing to do. So he decided to pay a visit to his cousins, Hinata and Hanabi, whom he now sees as sisters.

As soon as he was getting ready to go, he hears someone calling out to him. An out-of-breath Hyuga messenger intercepted him. “N-n-neji-san, your desperately needed at the Hyuga House.” “Calm down. What happened?” “I-it’s Hiashi-sama, H-hiashi-sama . . . is . . . dying.” “Nani?!?! Take me to him.”

The two speed to the Hyuga House. On his way there, Neji couldn’t help to think. “If he does die, who’s going to take over Hanabi, or Hinata? I know he favors Hanabi, but Hinata has grown, surely he could see that.” “What am I talking about, I shouldn’t think taht way, he could still make it.”

Upon their arrival, Neji noticed Hinata and Hanabi crying at their fathers’ bedside. Hiashi noticed Neji and asked him to stand next to his family, meaning Hinata, Hanabi and himself. Hiashi apologized to Neji for all the pain and suffering he has caused him. “If I could change anything in my life, It would be taking Hizashi’s place that one night.” – Hiashi. “Don’t talk, save your strength.” – Neji. “I know, that *cough cough* he would of been very proud of the *cough* man you have become.” – Hiashi.

Hiashi then turned his attention to his daughters. To Hanabi he thanked for supporting his training, and to Hinata he apologized for how he had treated her. Telling her that he is very proud of the woman she has become. “Now Neji, can you lend this old man a moment of your time, I have something important that I want to address to you.” Hiashi dying words to Neji were, “Please protect Hinata and Hanabi at all cause, especially Hinata. It’s her turn now.” It was quite clear what he meant by that.

Neji turned and prepared to give the news to the clan. He told them that from now on, Hinata is the Head Hyuga. Which surprised everybody, including Hinata. Some people started to object, but Neji put them in their place by saying that, “This were Hiashi’s last words to me, his last wishes. You dare disrespect him?!” “Obiousely he chose her for a reason, he thought Hinata is well and capable to take his place. And I for one agree with him.” “As do I” – Hanabi. “My sister, is very capable of carri=ying this clan.” Neji and Hanabi stood next to Hinata, and smiled.

After a while, Neji started training with Tenten, and they started a relationship. Neji was also assigned by Hinata to be her advisor, and was given the task to train Hanabi. Neji also took it upon himself to train the whole clan, in order to make the clan stonger. His relationship with Tenten was also going in the right track, they were constantly seen together.

Months later, Neji was called upon by Hinata to ‘have a serious talk’ with him. In this talk, she addressed her ’situation’, and that she wants him to take over. Neji expressed his concerns about her desicion, and him being a ‘branch’. To which she said, she had under control. “What about Hanabi, shouldn’t she . . .” Neji was interrupted by his younger cousin, “Your could do it, I don’t mind, plus Hinata is not the only one that wants to live a different life.” Hanabi said, smiling at Neji.

Once the announcement was given, Neji was worried what the reaction of the clan was going to be. After a small silence, the clansmen started to get on their knees. One by one, they showed their respect to Neji. Neji was speechless of the action taking place before him. “See, your way more suited for this, than I am”- Hanabi.

With Neji as their leader, the Hyuga quickly became the top clan in all of the Fire Country, and one of the top three strongest clans in the world, along with Uchiha and Uzumaki (Naruto’s kids). Neji was even told by Naruto, that he was his top pick for Hokage if anything were to happen to him.

Rock Lee

It is the middle of the day, and the youthful Lee finally awoke from his deep slumber. He looks around, but everything is foggy. Lee is able to hear a noise though, it was the sound of a girl, whom seemed to be crying. “Tenten” Lee muttered, as he opened his eyes further to try and make out the image where the sound was coming from. To his surprise it wasn’t Tenten who was crying, or a girl for that matter. It was Gai-Sensei who was weeping by his bedside.

“Gai-Sensei? What happened?” He was told that he was in coma for months, after a certain Mission (see below), where he, and Tenten barely made it alive. If it wasn’t for Neji, who knows what would of happened. “How is Tenten?” Rock-Lee asked. He was told of her minor injuries and that she is with Neji training. “So, it was ‘him’ who saved us.” Lee quenched his fists, he couldn’t believe that he lost, again. “Captain Gai, your needed. And Rock-Lee needs his rest.” a medic’s voice was heard. “Captain? What do you mean . . .?” “yup, Captain, alot has changed in the time you were in coma. We’ll talk later, Lee.”

Lee was left alone to reflect on what he heard, and on his life. After a long time of thinking, it came to him that he has never won a battle, with the exception of his sparring with Sasuke during childhood. But in all the serious battles of his life, he always got seriously injured, or close to death. The only reason he survived, is because someone would always help him out. Versus sound Genin – InoShikaCho stepped in, Versus Gaara – Gai stepped in, Versus Kimimaru – Gaara stepped in. Someone is always helping him, and this time it was the one man that he hopes to surpass one day, his rival, Neji Hyuga.

Rock-Lee had enough, and decided to train harder, and smarter upon release. He realized that by training while injured, he was only hurting himself (no shit). So he conducted his own training method, one that would give him both great results, and less injury. He decided to go to Sakura’s home (Uekigakure/ Tree Village) and asked if she could make some ointments for him, a years supply. She did, and Rock-Lee went off to train. Lee went to ask Naruto for permission to leave the Village for a couple of years, to this Naruto gracefully agreed, as long as it’s inside the Country’s borders, just in case. They both agreed, and Lee set out to train. On his way out, Lee noticed Tenten waiting for him at the Konoha front entrance, she gave him some of her weapon summon scrolls, for training purposes, and as a thank you present.

During his time training away from Konoha, Lee fought in alot of battles (this is going to come into play, in a later blog),and greatly grew in skill. He grew so much, that he came up with a new fighting style, one that incorporated his natural ability to fight in ‘drunken fist’. With his new fighting ability came new techniques, that didn’t affect his body. He even changed his look, to reflect his new way of life. He let his hair grow, back to the way he used to have it. Got more muscle toned, wore looser clothing, and matured a great deal. He even out grew his sensei, Gai.

Upon his return to konoha, many people didn’t recognize him. Some girls were even trowing themselves at him, screaming out “You want to be my boyfriend!” First thing he did was to challenged Neji (Now head of Hyuga), and Naruto-sama to individual sparring matches. Neji was unable to retain his undefeated record against Lee,and Naruto barely won his bout, but won none the less (being Hokage and all). With that Lee manage to earn the respect of the village, and was recognized as a great fighter.

Tenten

After training with Neji for a long period of time, mostly by themselves (since Lee was in comma), Tenten started to develope more-than-just-friends feelings towards him. She would keep these feeling to herself, thinking she was the only one that felt “that way”, and never told Neji. After keeping her feelings to herself for so long, and scared of being rejected by the man she loves, Tenten decided to take some time to herself and away from Neji. “Maybe this would make the feelings fade away?” she thought.

She would frequently visit Rock-Lee, to check up on him. At times, she would talk to him, telling him her thoughts. She wouldn’t get a responce ofcoarse, but it helped just to tell someone. However, with the start of the ‘war’, Tenten had no time to talk to Lee, or anyone for that matter. She was put in charge of weapon detail, and was a major player in the front end of the battlefield. With her strategical skills, she quickly made the ranks in the military.

This was exactly what she needed, to kept her busy, no time to think of her love for Neji, or Lee’s coma. All she thought about was the assignments given to her by Gai, and how to execute them as effective as possible. This would help her develop as a Kuinochi. She would later be given a team of her own to lead. Her new role as a leader, gave Tenten more character, made her more confident, and gave her the strength to become the perfect woman for Neji.

At the end of the War, after the burial of Kakashi, Tenten decided to confess her love to Neji, not caring if he felt the same. To her surprise, he did feel the same way, and would always worry about her, when she was away. They soon became more intimate, and after Neji’s new role as Hyuga leader, she moved in with the clan. She was excepted imediately, and they soon had a son, Hitori*.

After the birth of their son, Tenten spend her time raising Hitori. When not doing that, thanks to Hanabi being a loving auntie, she would train with the Hyuga. This made her a great asset to the Hyuga, thank to her help the clan increased in skill, and became a very strong clan.

Summary: Gai became in charge of Konoha’s Military. Lee turns out to be a great taijutsu warrior and has the ladies all over him. Neji and Tenten hook up, Neji is now the leader of the Hyuga clan, with Tenten by his side. Tenten continues to train in weapon combat.

Zep: *sigh* finally done with one more. Just one left and I’m done.
Messenger: Excuse me sir, are you Zep Hyuga?
Zep: Yeah, that’s me. Who’s asking?
Messenger: We received a message for you, from the Sand, via bird messager.
Zep: (From the Sand? What do they want?) *Zep reads message*

Message:

To Zep of the Hyuga Clan:

There is a matter of grave importance here in Sunagakure, that requires your ‘immediate’ attention. We pled you pack light, with the exeption of scrolls and ink blocks, to make your arrival as hastly as possible. Please come at once, it’s very important.

*Zep gathered his stuff, and left at once*

*Two days later, Zep arrives at Suna*

Matsuri: Finally your here, follow me.
Zep: What’s going on?
Temari: No time to explain, you’ll know soon enough.

*Zep is taken to Kazekage’s room*

Zep: Wait, where’s Gaara? and why are you closing the door?
Kankuro: Gaara didn’t send for you. We did.
Temari: I knew you wouldn’t come unless it was an important matter, so I forged his handwriting.
Kankuro: So now you have to write, what we want you to write.

*Matsuri ties up Zep, leaving only his right hand untied*

*Gaara walks in*

Gaara: *tear drop on head* . . .
Kankuro: . . .
Zep: *mumble mumble mumble*
Temari: *kicks Zep on head* Shut up
Matsuri: *blushes* Hello, Gaara-kun
Gaara: I’m not even going to ask. *leaves and closes door*
Zep: *Mumbles harder*
Temari: I told you to shut it, now start writing.
Matsuri: We’ll see you guys later, until next time.
