Naruto Manga chapter 401 – Brainwashing 101

More revelations about Itachi, and this chapter finally concludes Sasuke and Madara’s little talk session. I know this is an important revelation in the series, but this has gone on for over five chapters now, so I’m glad we’re finally going to move on. However, the end was a little cryptic and almost made me think another time skip had occurred. Well, we’ll get to that later, but first let’s talk about what Madara and Itachi.
Madara’s explanations to Sasuke about Itachi’s actions make sense. Itachi lied to Sasuke regarding wanting his Sharingans for himself in order to make Sasuke fight for his survival. By pushing Sasuke so hard, Itachi was able to force him to release Orochimaru, thus cleansing Sasuke’s body of the Cursed Seal. Another explanation Madara mentions is that the reason why Itachi returned to Konoha immediately after the Third’s death was because he wanted to make sure Danzou and the others knew that he was still alive to carry out his threats in case they tried anything with Sasuke. And lastly, he explains that Itachi planned to lose and die in his final battle with Sasuke in order to help him apply the Mangekyou Sharingan; Itachi’s own death filled the requirement for the user to kill a friend or sibling.
The title of this chapter is interesting: Illusion. Madara is telling Sasuke that Itachi had created an illusion over him through lies and manipulation. Itachi’s motive was to manipulate Sasuke’s actions as best he could in order to guide him towards a bright future. However I think the “illusion†in the title could also be hinting that Madara is actually the one who is trying to manipulate Sasuke by warping the truth and his previous perception of events.
Actually, what Madara has been doing is a text book example of how to brainwash someone. He first created the ideal conditions: 1. Isolation. Deprive the victim of outside support, making him dependent only on the interrogator (Sasuke is tied up and cut off from his team). 2. Limit perception. Eliminate competing stimuli in order to force victim to focus on the interrogator (ie. Pitch black cave). 3. Exhaustion. Weaken the victim both mentally and physically (Sasuke just finished a life or death battle).
Once these conditions are met, Madara then breaks down Sasuke’s previous perception of reality by flat out stating to him that he has spent his entire life pursuing a lie. We can then see Sasuke literally cracking up as he starts talking to himself. And immediately afterwards, Madara begins telling Sasuke the “truth†about himself, Itachi, the Uchiha clan, and Konoha. This is not to say Madara is filling Sasuke’s head with complete lies. No, the best lies are those that are fused with half truths.
Poor Sasuke, it seems everyone wants to control you and your future. But Madara’s actions are still somewhat confusing. On the one hand, since his goal is to destroy Konoha , Madara tries to bring Sasuke to his side by telling Sasuke about how Itachi was ordered by the Konoha higher-ups to wipe out his own clan. But on the other hand, Madara also seems to be implying that Itachi passed his powers onto Sasuke in order for him to carry out his legacy. Yet if Sasuke was to follow in his brother’s footsteps, one of his goals would certainly be to protect Konoha at all costs – but clearly this would be something Madara does not want.
The last scene may provide a clue on what path Sasuke will choose in the future. It is unclear how Sasuke got out of the cave and ended up by the ocean. He has new clothes and his wounds appear healed, so I’m guessing some time has passed by (though not a time skip). We see a panel showing Sasuke’s footprints in the sand, and shortly after they are washed away by the waves. To me, this is definitely some kind of metaphor that’s implying Sasuke has left his past behind him and is setting out on a new journey. I think we’re seeing a major turning point for Sasuke here in the story. My wish is that Sasuke will begin to follow his own path now and to rely on his own strength; yet at the same time, I’m sure Madara has his own devious plans for him set out already.

yes im back i havent been able to comment lately cuz of my password trouble.so i have had alot of questions for the past few chapters but it seems that they were answered in this chapter.like i wondered why itachi grabbed his heart and then was coughing up blood after he used susanoo.then zetsu hints that he had to be seriously injured.but know we know it was a disease.i wish i knew what kind.
i like how kishi went all the way back to when they first met in the uchiha hideout and itachi asks sasuke what can he see with his sharingan.this last chapters have been like the movie the illusionist or deja vu.where every little detail comes to into play.i also want to complement the people who guessed right about itachi capturing orochimaru to help sasuke.
YEAAAAAAAAAAAH i was FIRST for once.i always said that i would never say that… but i couldnt help myself haha (chuckling) because i know itll never happen again.the only reason im first cuz its like 3a.m,i just left the movie theatre watching that new indiana jones.IF YOU HAVENT SAW IT YET.GO NOW.
i wonder what kishi will go to next.will he go to the kisame and team hebi,cuz in an interview he said that they would have fights,but it doesnt necessarily mean now or immediately after.
there seems to be some kind of secret to itachi and peins power.because pein said if he hadnt held his secret until the end jiraiya would have won.and madara said that if he hadnt kept a few secrets from itachi that he’d probably be dead.but im not sure but when he said this i believe he said it to himself which makes me believe that he is manipulating some things in his favor or he just would have said it out loud ?
i have lots of questions to ask but they were answered in other discussions.like when madara said the kyuubi was a natural disaster.the sasuke has his silent elipses … and i said to myself i bet sasuke thinking madara is full of BS because itachi said it was a very intentional summoning.but they both have good reasons for their saying that.Itachi reasons:1.to telll sasuke info on madara so that sasuke could catch him in a lie.2.or just as madara says that it was a lie to make sasuke not believe madara.(HOWEVER,and we have had jiraiya say in previous chapters say the he has a hunch that kyuubi was an intentional summoning,just as itachi said.and that madara is alive.i wonder why would jiraiya think this?where was he getting this intel from? and it seems that someone besides itachi figured out that madara was alive? i wonder if jiraiya mentioned this on pa toads back?)with it being two against one im leaning towards that madara is lying.Madaras reasons:he could be telling the truth,but its hard to tell because everyone has legit explanations. i actually believe madara,i think kishi is just using him to tell the events cuz itachi is dead.except for the kyuubi summoning

oops i forgot about this.madara said that some of the uchiha began to follow in his footsteps(sasuke can suppress the kyuubis chakra)so just like all those sand ninja summoned the snakes when orochimaru was attacking the village.what if the uchiha clan summoned the kyuubi together? i say this beause itachi said that madaras attempt to destroy the village 16 years agot with the kyuubi was stopped by yondaime hokage.but what if he just meant by madaras attempt…. he meant just his idea of destroying the viillage using the kyuubi.which could have been carried out by other members.this would rule out the natural disaster or madara.
i wonder if itachi told the elders of sandaime about madara? why would danzou and the elders want sasuke to where itachi had to threaten them?is it because the woul want to kill the last uchiha member or make him part of root cuz lots of people in root were orphans like sasuke? but everything madara makes sense with sauke having flash backs for some people who couldnt connect the scene,confirming it.any way its 4a.m so im out.ttyl ill b back tomorrow with some good comments if others havent asked them already
This chapter was awesome, from the first page to the last, Madara might’ve speaking the truth partially….as you say….the best lies are based on half truths….
Itachi was strong even on the deathbed…..taking pills to sustain his life….to sustain it until he fights Sasuke….makes you wonder how much stronger Itachi was….i think he surpassed most of the Akatsuki, probably even Pein…..’coz Jiraiya if he would’ve known of Peins 6 paths might’ve won ….which could mean Sasuke would be at least as strong as the Sannin’s by now (at least Jiraiya’s level, because Oro was quite strong, maybe the strongest of the Sannin’s….for then he knew all these jutsu’s that even if some people categorize as disgusting from a honourable fighting point of view….they were truly powerful)
OK….now Sasuke’s clothing and/or Timeskip …. he doesn’t wear the Akatsuki cloak, but the Uchiha symbol on his shirt(or whatever it is)…..this may very well mean, that he is going to found a new uchiha order/clan maybe in Konoha or somewhere else…..but Konoha is his home…..where the Uchiha’s are meant to….it would be cool if he met other Uchiha members from other villages….found the new Uchiha ….. BUT he can also be manipulated from the dark by Madara…..which could mean he is going to Konoha and tactically targets his family, his brother’s enemies…..one by one….starting with Danzo….
AND last but not least, Kisame’s implication in this….Kisame must’ve known what Itachi was doing, probably Kisame was a spy in the Akatsuki himself….idk….but he may have something to do with Sasuke in the future….maybe Kisame is going to tell Sasuke something important….or give him something important (maybe a new sword or sth?…do we know all the seven swords?)
next time, “Last Words” it is a perfect setting to where Sasuke is, at the ocean….last words to who? Madara? Team Hebi?
One more thing…. i would like to know what disease Itachi had…..was it a cosnpiracy ? someone poisoned him? or did the disease strike by natural causes?

I would find it hard to believe Madara, who hates the form of the actual Konoha, not to want to meddle in this…..i wonder why is he making Itachi seem the tragic hero, instead of manipulating the story in his favor?

so it was a heart disease?….but it is rather simple. of Kishi…..just a disease….there must be more to this….Poisoning? Conspiracy?
Yeah i was thinking what kind of disease he had i mean he was coughing out blood and all sorts its noy just like someone to do that. The last time i recall seeing someone coughing out blood in that way was when Kabuto sevred all the support to naruto’s heart when Naruto hit him with the rasengan. So im thinking he may have had a heart disease. Also he probably overdid it in taking the medicine, as it prolonged his life and so he was pushing his body past its limits already. On top of that he used the best abilities of his MS im assuming but didnt fight to his best. Im assuming when he summoned Susanoo that pushed him way past his limit. So yh i would like to know
I dont think that Sasuke would join Akatsuki it just wouldnt suit his style plus he is so used to doing things on his own. The only reason he got a team was to track down Itachi, however i think that he may go back to his original team depends really on his actions. But i dont see him helping Akatsuki, but something would have to happen for Naruto and Sasuke to fight just have this feeling they will again.
No i dont think he was the stongest of the Sannins the thing with him is that he is just one ugly experiment, i believe that Jiraya is actually the storongest as well as both of them being intelligent it just seems to me that Jiraya would put more into it, also Oro uses way tooooo many tricks ina fair fight i see jiraya winning and im sure him and the 4ths legacy lives on in Naruto. Naruto never fails to amaze even though compared to the others he is pretty weak which is rather annoying i think we will see a new change.

but Oro had a full arsenal of jutsu’s…..from bunshin to cursed seals …..etc….from Earth to Lightning based jutsu’s…..and that “revival” technique …. When Susano’o sealed Oro…..
Oro knew all sorts of techniques…..Jiraiya also…..but i think overall in fighting, Oro beat all the Sannins

it doesn’t matter…..in a fight…..of such a calibre….every fighter has his tricks…..most fighters have tricks ….. which of course gives them an unfair advantage….but unless it is official fight (i.e.Chunin Exams)….it is correct….
Fairplay is overrated
yh u do have a point there Chaos he’s a bit like his sensei but he took things just way too far. Oro was mad. But you could say he was a mad scientist but taking over womans body is just plain right nasty eeeewwww. I think.
You see this is one of the problems i have Naruto the whole thing in general, You never get to see the full extent of all chracters abilities and sometimes it seems like they are so limited but they are actually not this is really annoying
Really great chapter.Madara’s story seems to have many real spots in it.Itachi-san was a good boy!He lived such a tragic life.He sacrifised his life for the sake of others and the ninja world.And another unfortunate event comes and strikes him.He is sick obviously by a serious disease.That explains why Kisame-san was always worring about Itachi’s-san health and always following his commands.Itachi-san is a very honorable man and a tragic hero.And especially Konoha must make him her national hero.We now all know that Itachi-san was one of the most powerful ninjas of the whole times.Even sick he was so strong in the fight with Sasuke and even then he holded himself back and he didn’t show his true strength.Itachi-san is the most powerful member in Akatsuki after Pain and Madara.But we have been said that Madara isn’t as strong as he used to be.And maybe Itachi-san could take Pain out who knows Jiraiya couldn’t and he was a shannin.Itatchi beatted Orochimaru the most powerful shannin so it’s a possibility!Now Uchiha Sasuke:He must be really shocked after all these lies and truths and his whole life purpose going down.He killed his brother and hated him for all these years but Itachi loved him till the very end of his life.Due to Sasukes easy to manipulate personality and character is hard to say what he ll do next.I have four possibilities.1 he joins Madara and Akatsuki and does what Itachi-san did.He learns info to protect the village but at the same time he looks for a chance to kill Danzou and the elders(the b****rd ones) and waits till he can kill Madara.2he leaves with team Hebi and tries to kill Danzou and the elders and leaves lonely.3He goes back to Konoha and tells everything to them maybe along with team Hebi.4 he joins Madara and Akatsuki and tries to kill everyone and destroy Konoha but at the same time he is waiting to kill Madara.For me the first and the last are more possible to happen.Our new chapter shows Sasuke on some rocks right?And the waves hit them.Interesting and mysterious image.The whole thing looks like it has a deeper meaning.And if we know Kishi it has.Many things that we thought as true were lies.Konoha isn’t the nice good village after all , at least not the best as we thought.I believe that if Naruto learns about all these he ll definetly try to kill Danzou and maybe(i don’t think so)the elders on his own.Now all we can do is wait.The next chapter looks promising.
But Chaos there is a certain extent t which you can use tricks, unless your whole style is based upon that most Of Oro’s style is based upon tricks as he doing stuff thats not expected to be done and is just nasty. I dont really like the method in which he takes over people body as well. I think he does through the cursed seal it makes a lot of sense really

I think, eventually Pein will die…but not by Sasuke’s hands…..by Naruto’s hands….Naruto may want revenge from what happened to Jiraiya ….. and good point, if Sasuke will take revenge on Konoha, he will not know that Madara set him to it….he will think that he is acting out of his own….
In fact, that was the whole point of Madara telling Sasuke the truth about Itachi…..Sasuke knows now of Konoha’s actions…..it is only natural he plans revenge….he’s an avenger afterall

Yes I wonder if that was a time skip (for all the manga) (or to tell us that we wont see Sasuke again in a long long time).
ok ok Kishi has twisted the story and me mind. Here I go – CRAZY CRAZY GUESS
* At least 2 attempt of Coup d’état where planed almost at the same time (Uchiha over Konoha – Zabuza and Co over the Mist)
* Kisame and Itachi where the double agents that ruined this Coups. Both latter enter the Akatsuki. Where they spies among the bad guys?
* Madara has a Boss. This could be the Fire’s Country leader.
* Madara’s orders are to destroy the bijuus so none will have advantage over other villages. Second unite the Hidden Villages to form an Empire.
* Sasuke was left alive: Itachi loved him. Madara wanted him as a weapon, the one that will control the bijuus
Both Madara and Itachi wanted the same Ushiha to survive history with honor, so Sakuke was their last hope.
The Bijjuu thing
A – to use the bijuus as a threat, so the villages can be persuader to surrender, so war can be wined without killing to many and destroying all villages (this to assure utter stability).
OR
B- to lead the bijuus back to hell or something that will destroy them.
* Itachi may be really wanted Sasuke to look like a hero, so he can reborn the Uchiha Clan with honor on their name. This will please as well Madara.
* The book that Kabuto handed to Naruto will lead Konoha to the wrong conclusions. Kabuto is again deceiving on purpose, or he and Oroshimaru where tricked by Madara.
If Itachi was a triple agent he reported to Jiraya
This is my first comment… idk what to make of Madara’s story, i think that one way or another he is trying to do harm to kanoha, i mean he has tried to destroy it before, is he trying to say he just had a change of heart??? and even though he is a shell of his former self i still think he is crazy powerfull, lets think about in comparison with the other ninja,… itachi, who beat oro so he is at least sannin lvl, took orders from pein, who beat jariya and the salamander who defeater all three sannin( they were young though) took orders from madara.. so they had to have some kind of fear and respect for him??
That Hidden Mist Coup would explain Kisame’s entry in The Akatsuki……but i think he is more than that to the story….he is gonna have some info he is ognna tell Sasuke…he spent that much time with Itachi as a team…..he surely must know something important…..something Madara doesn’t want to tell
you know….i think the relation between Pein and Madara, though a cold one, is a ” You scratch my back, I scratch yours” relationship…..Pein wants/needs something from Madara, and Madara wants/needs something from Pein…..
I’m sure that Kisame hides sth.He must be important or know sth importan.He must know Itachi’s-san plans .And he must have known about the disease.Rememeber?He always wanted Itachi to be in a good state.Itachi might had put a mission on him.Protect my brother as you can when i leave or sth.
This was a good ch. And sasuke looks almost calm in the last pic.Is it possible for sasuke to simply become a wondering ninja, cause he was never really a bad guy(alway procting others and even setting free some of oro captives).Madaras actions are confusion though, maybe he doesn’t want sasuke to join him.if you think about sasuke is truly the pride of the uchiha’s now and can rebuild the clan someday.Just a though.

Yeah i read a kishi interview some were and he said something like 2008 is the year of uchiha,then he’s going on to kakashi, then to sakura.So Naruto fans have to wait.
Chapter 401 was so damn Emotionally!!! Can someone slap the sh1t out of Sasuke. Your brother love you now go beat the snot out of somebody. From the middle of chapter 397 until maybe the middle of 402 all we get is Itachi, Itachi, Itachi, The First, Itachi Itachi. We need to bury Itachi and get to the main event. In this corner fight out of the Village of Rain Pein. And in this corner out the Village of Leaf Tsunada. Like the great Mill Lanes use to say “LET GET IT ON. It would be funny if Sasuke jump off the cliff screamin “Itachi I love you” He look so jack-up in the head. Poor poor Sasuke, I’m hope you jump LOL
Madara is peicing together Itachi’s past quite well. A lot of what he is saying about Itachi makes sense. But there is also two sides of the coin. The story is full of lies or is twisted to fit MAdara’s plans. In the picture I also saw Sasuke with the cursed seal when Madara was talking about Oroochimarau. What is up with that?
Iruka if you look again you ll see that it’s an image.And Sasuke wears clothes in it.It’s just because Madara was talking about all that and Kishi showed an image like Sasuke used to be with the CM and all that.

Man Bob great job again man. A very telling chapter, I too think that what MAdara is saying about Itachi is truee but Madara is mixing truth with lies real hard. At on point while he was explaining it seemed to be that he was contradicting himself that just made me lost I thought he wanted to get Sasuke on his side. I agree that Sasuke should be throughly brainwashed now.

I thought about this too dude I don’t see why Madara still wants to destroy Konoha so bad , his clan is dead the Senju clan from all indications is the same as the Uchiha clan “dead or dieing out fast”, so I think Madara just has a grudge a grudge that like and itch Madara can’t scratch unless he destroys Konoha.

I’m goona be a dummy too Seph I agree with you it would suit Madara to allow Sasuke to go on a rampage and “move” a few obstacles in his way, remember Itachi did say Madara is but a shadow of his former self, so that would indicate that Madara probably doesn’t have what it takes to take on Konoha on his own anymore,makes sense.
The Year of Sakura? …pfff…..that’d be dull….unless if it’s something like Tsunade dies (NOES)…she’ll want payback….and learn some jutsu’s

Like you all I want to know what disease that was that Itachi had, I think his body was degrading from use of his Sharingan that maybe it idk. But I dont think so isn’t the Sharingan’s overuse suppose to cause blindness with that said I wanna know what disease that was.
Man Itachi is by far one of the most talented ninja in the series even if you don’t like the guys you have to give him props, this is a like was 13/14 yrs plot in the making, take out the clan, make brother come after you and push him to his limits in a fight to make him attain MS. The dude is a master tactician and a super skilled ninja. If he was off his meds when he was fighting Sasuke and still put up that good a fight even with the intention to lose I wonder what he was capable of if he was fighting for real real? Madara did say if he was well Sasuke would be dead. I think Seph said this but I agree too Itachi must have been fully able to take out Pein and the rest of Akutsuki.
Man I totally forgot who mentioned this first but I been thinking this for awhile too there is more to Kisame than meets the eye…No he is not Optimus Prime or Bumbblebee. Sharkface had to be in on Itachi’s little game. In Akutsuki there was no closer partnership than theirs i think Kisame knows Itachi’s version of the story and may tell Sasuke giving Sasuke a more complete picture of the story. As to what sasuke does now, idk he’s as implusive as Naruto though he’d never admit it but I bet he must be at the point of madness if not beyond it now.
i still don’t want sasuke to be evil. i want him to go back to konoha like a good boy should.:)
A whole year for Kakashi Chaos what’s he going to do form the Hatake clan? Show his face? be hokage definitely! ok so do get me wrong I like Kakashi but a whole year? That be pushing it Maybe 10 episodes or so. A year to Sakura sheeesh Sakura barely makes an impact in one episode (I’m not a Kunoichi hater ok) but Sakara gettin a whole year is insane.

On the theory of Itachi having a heart condidtion: the whole point of being in ROOT was that you had to be the best of the best: meaning pretty close to super humans. Why would they let somebody in with a heart condition? It was probably internal damage from using too much chakara. The Hyuuga-pressure-point-of-death diagram shows that there are several chakara points next to the heart. After using the Amaterasu and Susanoo and blinding himself, Itachi probably did some pretty bad damage to his internal organs.

Marada is definitely the bad guy, I know this due to me living in japan and have some inside info. He did set the fox on the village and he was the one who helped kill off the uchiha clan. Itachi is no long useful to marada. However, I believe that marada will try to take saske’s eyes due to the fact that his power isnt as it was before. The spiraling suriken is not naruto’s ultimate jutsu, he will come up with something that will blow your mind. I promised that I wouldn’t give any crazy details but the stroy is going to start to get very intresting with naruto. AND YES SASKE AND NARUTO WILL MEET AGAIN! Thats a fact

Great Chapter! I agree with Seph on two theories. Sasuke joins Madara and Akatsuki and tries to kill everyone and destroy Konoha but at the same time he is waiting to kill Madara. & that Sasuke could. join Madara and Akatsuki and does what Itachi-san did.He learns info to protect the village but at the same time he looks for a chance to kill Danzou and the elders(the b****rd ones) and waits till he can kill Madara
Both of these theories would have great twist and turns.

As everyone knows this chapter cleared up a lot of questions but it also made questions. I personally think that there is a lot truth to madara’s side of the story. But if what he say is true then i think sasuke will follow in Itachi’s footsteps but just like Itachi wouldn’t he join the Akatsuki so he could stop them if he has to from destroying konoha. Or will he return to the village to prtect it that way.
I think they should get back to Naruto because we have spent to much time on the Uchiha, I like the Uchiha but this show is called Naruto. I can’t wait till Naruto finds out that Jariaya is dead because he will go crazy. I want them to finally tell him that he is the son of the fourth hokage too. There is so much i want to know, I can’t wait.

I agree about Kisame. I expect that if he is alive, he sill pass something to Sasuke. Itachi must have thing in something a final note in case Madara gets his hands is his little bro.
Also, Madara may want to use sasuke to split the news of Konoha been not that good, destroying Danzou and elders reputation he can cause a division in Konoha.
What a chapter! I was both dissapointed and pleasantly surprised by different aspects of it. I still think Madara is telling the truth for the most part. This truth can be the only one that completes the puzzle of Itachi, and lives up to our expectations of his secrets so well. It is interesting though about the “brain-washing” scenario Madara sets up.
Poor, poor Sasuke. How could ANYBODY, who has gone through the lies, tragedy, and remorse that he has had to go through not be the way he is, You can’t blame him! Not to mention everybody has their own plans for him. Orochimaru wanted his talent as a new host, Madara has definitely got something in mind, and Itachi wanted him to become a hero. I pray to God he follows Itachi’s expectations.
If he now believes that Itachi was good all along, which I think he does, he will probably pay his brother back by living in this “path of light,” he has set for him. Maybe not to a T, but I think there will be a change in Sasuke for sure.
Kishi hints to this by asking “what blooms in Sasuke,” at the end of the chapter. Usually when you use the word bloom, it is a good thing, like a beautiful beginning, like with flowers. I just hope this isn’t the last we see of Sasuke for a while. I would like to observe his new demeanor around others.
I also pity Sasuke. Everybody have messed up with his life and head.

On chapter: Saskue is probably going to get the seven mist swords (random thought) I want him to be bad but not under Madra. I to want to know about Jariya’s sources, It was discused that mabey it was Itachi however I think it was Oro working with but then being betrayed by Itachi. This isn’t a perfect theory but if Itachi planned out his battle with Saskue he would need to know what techniques Saskue knows, also Jariya frequently sought out Oro, he must have had some sucess.It’s Unpleasent But Just Consider It.

on saskue: I think madra has him brainwashed in the way sasori brainwashed kabuto or he’s going to kohana undercover of his own free will (still serving madra).
on itachi’s disease: I need to search WebMD but it’s probably MS related and caused the heart bleeding (There is probably a real disease that causes bleeding in the mouth and blindness)(sidenote: chakra resides in the soul/heart of a being [as shown by Sasori and Oro's quests for immortality])
on the sanin: Jariya is stronger, Oro wouldn’t fight fair but that’s life. why would you want to fight fair, in a fair fight you might lose. Honnor is overrated because the winners right history and decide what’s “honnorable”. The reason I say Jariya would win is because he is like naruto. (Not book smart, but street smart)
on saskue’s decision making process: He may be stronger than the Sanin but he is still a genin because he can’t play nice with others and is easily decived, over the timeskip they have just become stronger not wiser.
on kisame: he knows something, I just don’t know what.
on Kakashi becoming hokage: He would be excelent because his battle skill comes from analization and good decision making (Don’t do drugs kids!) something a hokage definatly needs and he could use the sharingan to take in info at light speed. (This leads me to a question, Why don’t shinobi use jutsu to make everyday life better, Ex. using Shadow clones to clean a room or do lots of paperwork)

Well four Akatsuki members remain except from Madara.Now to Kisame.He seems very strong and from the clues that Kishi gave us and from our discoveries (because we are very clever NARUTARDS) he holds a piece of the puzzle to the story but if he is like Itachi or ordered by Itachi he might be a little problem for Naruto and his friends.If Kisame is storng and he acts like Itachi then maybe …….WE GOT PROBLEM.Itachi was very difficult to deafeat and basicly he wasn’t defeated.So if Naruto and the others face Kisame then someone is gona d…. or hurt.Konan no comments just pathetic.Zetsu our little aloe vera!ZUZUZUZU.He is and stll remains one of the most mysterious Akatsuki members.He doesn’t seem very powerful but no one knows what he’s hiding.Pain is a very powerful ninja.He took out one of the shannins and probably will take another one out too(Tsunade).So things are not so difficult for Naruto and his gang.Kisame is strong.Konan is trush.Zetsu probably won’t fight or will lose to his will.Pein .. i smell blood and tears and… something bad coming up.

With the cursemark as well, couldnt Sasuke only go up to a certain limit. I mean he just went to cursed level state 2. That was it but his powers were much better yeah, but isnt their a limit to that i mean you cant be anymore powerful. Can someone help me out with that. I think.
Well I think that maybe Oro would think that in Sasuke’s crazy quest for power he would lose himself in using the curse mark as he knew power was one of Sasuke’ s major weaknesses and he took advantage of this. So when the time was right baaaaaamm he would take him, however it didnt happen and he just didnt suceed in his plan to take over Sasuke
But then again it seemes as if when he saw Sasuke he knew that Sasuke had better contorl over the curse mark’s power than anyone else with it apart from Jugo i think but yh. So Sasuke is very talented. As we can see. Also im starting think that Oro could’ve taken it futher with the cursed mark im sure there was a next level in which he could’ve taken it to. But perhaps he was afraid that Sasuke may have becomt to powerful for him.
Also one more thing why didnt Oro have the curse mark himself. 1) I think it has something to do with the bodies he switches as it may be some part of the key to the genjutsu he uses. Im assuming futhermore. 2) He just didnt like the idea of having the cursed mark on his body plus i think it detoriorates the body when being used and i dont think Oro would want that at all. However this makes me think that why would he then put one on Sasuke also after three years or so i think Oro has to switch bodies how would he do this that would be so crazzzy to him so how would he possibly prolong the life of Sasuke (me i dunno) But knowing Oro he probably had something up his sleeve.
Also why hasn’t Kabuto gota curse mark. I mean I know that he is cloes to him and everything but wouldn’t you want him to be stronger and maybe have better healing powers. Because when Naruto used the Rasengan on him he couldn’t heal himself completely also he could have more chakra and so on. I just figured but yh thats that

All things considered, it’d be best if Naruto didn’t meet team Hebi. Just think about it. Karin vs. Naruto and Sakura. They’d paint the walls with Karin’s blood and Jugo would have to kill ‘em… I dunno’ who will win in the Suigetsu vs. Kisame battle. Kisame’s strong and all, but we haven’t really seen what Suigetsu is capable of. o_o

One thing that doesn’t seem to make sense is why Itachi would want to kill Madara. Why would he feel the need to protect Sasuke from Madara if his intent is pure? So from this we can conclude that Madara isn’t the good guy he seems to claim. However I think the part about Itachi is mostly true as I can’t find a reason why Madara would lie about that..
idk….maybe he thinks Madara is gonna have a bad influence on Sasuke and attract him to destroying Konoha, than living with it in harmony……Itachi loved his brother, and loved Konoha just as much….but his second love betrayed him ( Konoha) …or should i say the ones who controlled Konoha at the moment….
