Naruto Manga Chapter 400 – A Web of Lies

So finally we have the truth about Itachi, or at least according to Madara. I’m still not sure how much we can trust his words, but you have to admit that Madara’s version of the events do make some sense. If he is telling the truth, then Itachi would probably be one of the most strong-willed characters ever. I think anyone else in his shoes would have gone crazy or committed suicide if they had to go through what he experienced. Yet Itachi remained composed until the end, even though I’m sure he yearned to let Sasuke in on the truth.
As Madara had said at the end of the last chapter, Itachi was chosen to be a spy by the Leaf’s leaders to send information to them about his own clan. Sasuke was too young to notice at the time that his father, Fugaku Uchiha, was the mastermind behind the Uchiha rebellion. It was Fugaku who ordered Itachi to join the ranks of ANBU, not to serve Konoha, but so he could gain access to top secret information and relay it back to the clan. However, Itachi was a double agent and he chose to side with the village instead of his clan.
Why would he do such a thing? Madara’s explanation is simple, Itachi experienced the brutal reality of war when he witnessed the senseless slaughters in the Third Great Ninja War. He was only four years old at the time, and the event made him loathe war. Itachi’s wish was to prevent war from breaking out again at all costs and did everything he could to keep Konoha safe. Danzou noticed Itachi’s devotion to the village, something that surpassed his loyalty to his own clan. And so, Itachi was ordered to spy on his own clansmen, and when the time was right, to carry out an unthinkable task – to murder his entire clan.
To any other person, such an order would seem ludicrous. But Madara explains the logic behind Itachi’s final decision. Although the Uchihas were not nearly as powerful as they were at the founding of Konoha, they still remained an extremely talented shinobi clan. If the entire Uchiha clan launched a civil war, the resulting feud would definitely throw the entire Fire Country into strife. With the Fire Country weakened, the other countries will most certainly take the opportunity to invade. The subsequent power battle will ultimately trigger a fourth ninja war. To prevent such a catastrophe from ever taking place, Itachi chose to sacrifice the lives of his own clansmen instead of the countless innocents who would be killed if a war broke out. This is not to say Itachi did not agonize over making such a decision. He really had no other alternatives, and so he chose to end his clan’s existence with his own hands.
But as talented as he was, Itachi was still a single ninja trying to take on the rest of his clan. This is where Madara came into the picture (LOL, he looks like such a hippie with his zebra mask and mullet hair back then). Itachi managed to track down Madara and made him a deal. He would aid Madara in taking revenge on the Uchiha clan on the condition that Madara agreed not to touch the rest of the village. When everything was planned and settled, Itachi made one more request, this time to the Leaf’s leaders. He threatened Danzou that if he did anything to Sasuke, he would reveal the secrets of the village to all the enemies of Konoha. And he asked the Third Hokage to keep Sasuke safe and to let him believe that his clan was the pride of the village and to never reveal the truth to him.
Itachi cared about his little brother the most in the world and wanted to keep him safe no matter what. But Itachi knew that Sauske will need to become strong in order to overcome the obstacles that will come his way. And so he made Sasuke devote his life to vengeance in the hope that it would make Sasuke stronger. The day that Sasuke can defeat him with this own hands is the day Itachi believed Sasuke would be able to stand up to the world and be strong enough to receive the power of his Mangekyou Sharingan.
But at the end of Madara’s tale, Sasuke is still in a state of denial. His mind still refuses to accept Madara’s version of the “truth†and his eyes look like they have that blank stare in them again. I wonder if this is the birth of Psycho Sasuke, LOL. However, you can’t really blame Sasuke for behaving the way he is. After all, he is being told that he has been lied to his entire life and that he just killed the only person who cared about him the most in the world. There are also some discrepancies in some of the things Madara has been saying.
- Why did Fugaku ask only Itachi to join the ranks of ANBU? Surely there would have been other qualified Uchihas he also could have sent to infiltrate the ANBU ranks and become spies.
- Before Itachi left Konoha, he threatened Danzou that he would reveal all of Konoha’s secrets to enemy countries if Danzou tried to use or harm Sasuke. So then why did Danzou send Sai to assassinate Sasuke? Surely he would have known that Itachi would sooner or later find out about what he had done. Or did he figure that killing off Orochimaru by destroying his next host is worth the risk of having all enemy countries know Konoha’s most guarded secrets?
- Why did Madara agree in his deal with Itachi to leave Konoha alone and only help wipe out the Uchiha clan. Wasn’t the whole point of Madara’s rebellion to destroy the Senju faction of Konoha so that his own clan will be returned to power? So far, Madara has portrayed himself as someone whose actions were done only to protect his clan. His willingness to help Itachi wipe out the Uchiha clan goes completely against those principles.

Ithink he was using the fact that Itachi would know Team Kakashi so it would look like he die in battle with Naruto instead of being assassinate by Root!!!

Madara agree cause he know one day Sasuke would kill Itachi. So he only job would to plant the seed of hatred of konoha in Sasuke and now he’ll get his revenge

Anyways, I still think Madara is telling the truth… But the more important question now is: If Madara wants Sasuke to help him annihalate Konoha, why is he telling him this?; What’s Sasuke’s destiny? Now that he knows ‘the truth’, he’ll most probably want to follow Itachi’s dream of peace between the countries… And Madara knows that, so why is he telling him this ‘truth’? It just doesn’t make sence (just like how he helped Itachi kill his own caln), unless Madara’s conting on Sasuke to really go insane…

Kishimoto is trying too hard to make Itachi look like a tragic hero, what next,huh? Next we find out that Itachi luvz puppies, gives money to the poor, gives candy to little kids (that didn’t sound right) …. and entertains old people at the Ye Olde Rest House by doing stand-up comedy…..
well at least this gives us a better view of what is going on, some things still don’t add up…. like where does Akatsuki fit in all this…..

Basically our supposed tragig hero is a Utilitarianist which is someone believes in the greatest happiness for the greatest number. So he put the whole community of Konoha before his own clan for the greater good, he wasnt an ethical egoist (someone who cares about him self/herself only and is looking out for their own interests).
By the way also i do not believe Itachi is in the wrong here from a Utilitarianism point of view as his actions brought out good consequences as a whole but sauske was damaged. But in terms of his action itself it wasn’t right also im sure that there could’ve been another way as there always is. He could have told Madara to anhialate the whole Uchiha clan and spare Sasuke, however i could see Madara stealing Sasuke away or something like that. But Itachi was quite calm and collected as Bob said
As for Sasuke im not to sure about how he is taking it, what he is doing is pretty much expected also we dont whether Madara is telling the truth or not however it seems like he is telling th truth also it seems as if things all fit into place into his story

Man it seems that Madara’s story might have a shred of truth at least some of the part about Itachi. But why join Itachi only to kill his clan why not to take all of Konoha?

Well i wouldnt think so Madara is quite powerful i mean of he really wanted Sasuke to believe him he could’ve just made him however, im thinking that he isnt the story just fits together too well, there isnt really any flaws. Will sakuke buy madara’s story? in my opinion, i think he will becuase right now he is so distrot that all his life he has been like a puppet on a string. he will probably believe anything. poor sakuke. but then i don’t think he will fall for the same trick again. if he believes madara’s story then will be a puppet again. POOR SAKUKE.

so he wants a union with Sasuke now because he is no where near as powerful as he was. Makes alot of sense sugar coating the whole story, get sasukes sympathy. Get him to hate the leaf for putting his brother through that. Maybe even blame leaf for him killing his brother.

Yeah with the sugar coating thing i think he does it very well. I mean i would believe this, but the way Sasuke had gone through life i see why its so hard im not to sure with whether he will join with Madara however it seems like thats what is going to happen now

GH here’s how I think it will happen you see how torn Sasuke’s mind is right now, he’s literally on the edge right now. Something is going to snap and Sasuke is going to start lookign for a new target to hate.
By the time Madara is done painting this picture of misery in his life Sasuke is going to come to the conclusion that Konoha is the source of all of his pain through his life.
Then he’s going to go off with his one track mind bent on destroying Konoha, for the death of his clan, mom and dad, Itachi and destroying his world. That how I see it may play out.
A rigged fight…..it might not be sasuke. maybe suigetsu, i think things might change soon, kishi usually leaves cliffhangers and this is pretty huge.
i agree with sothe it maybe an indication that kishi is going to switch to another part of the story.
Perhaps to Kisame or somewhere else Kishi does love to keep us hanging.

I hope the fight would be between Tsunada and Pein. I can taste this match a crazy strong such be lover of the Great Toad Hermit against a true mad man with unspeakable power n killer of the Great Toad Hermit.
But back to Sasuke. He done for, Kish should introduce Madara new Be-otch. Sasuke face expression don’t change at all. Konoha greatness threat is being birth by Madara words.

I think there is some kind of evil plot where danzo & madara are going to try destroy konoha. Madara will get help from Danzo to help from inside the village. Its prolly a long short though…

xGutsAndGloryx why would that happen, Danzo only wants peace (at least i think he does) anyway he wanted the whole entire Uchiha clan to be wiped out, I dont even think that he knows Madara is still alive. Furthermore the only way that would happen is if Madara was going to black mail Danzo about everything he had done. So i dont really see that happening, no on ewould really believe him as well. He is like wanted even though he aint alive.
could easily see Madara pushes Sasuke to his limit like DarkLurker suggested. It could be to use him in his plans with Akataski or some other plans…

I thought danzo only had authority over anbu root, so what does he have to do with itachi.And as many skilled ninja as there were in kohona itachi was the only one to figure out who madara was.Maybe xGutsAndGloryx is onto something.Both madara and Danzo didn’t like how kohona was being run so maybe they do have some kind of connection.
But Danzu was who Itach reported back to Ryeno duuuuuuhhh. He was the one who used Itachi to go against the Uchiha clan duuuuuuuuhh. Danzu has everything to do with Itachi he took advantage of him read the manga properly please

1) According to him, Itachi knows he will need help to take out his clan’s elite. The Konoha elders would also know that Itachi would need help. There is no way that the Konoha elders would be cool with Madara helping out with Itachi’s “mission.” There is no way that the elders would trust him.

2) I agree that killing Uchiha is not in line with Madara’s history of motivation. Madara wanted to see Uchiha back on top. If he had goals in-line with his Uchiha brothers he would have welcomed the civil war. Right? Madara was initially betrayed because the Uchiha clan wanted peace. Now that they realize their error and want to rise up, Madara wants to slaughter them at that time? No way. If he wants to get back at Konoha, he uses the Uchiha and then becomes the dictator. It would also not be logical that Itachi would be the only one to know that Madara was alive. An Uchiha senior to Itachi should have that information.

3) If Itachi can secretly kill every Uchiha, under the orders of the Konoha elders, why would he then need to be banished from the village? Keep Sasuke in school a little longer… send him on a mission… if Sasuke did not know it was Itachi that was the villain, why not let Itachi stay? Why not blame it all on Madara when he is at the village, kill him off, and have Itachi be one of the last Uchiha standing? Murder, fall man, smoking gun, one more Konoha enemy destroyed.

So, I think Madara’s argument is flawed.

That is not to say that Itachi had a fondness for Sasuke. Hide a lie between two truths, or hide the truth between two lies, you’ll have a hell of time figuring out what to believe. Sasuke is capable of believing Madara and would be a very passionate and powerful Naruto villain, gut-wrenching but true. In the end, Naruto will not reconcile with Sasuke until Sasuke is on his death-bed… a la Luke and Darth Vader.

Um About that Almeda acording to Madara Itachi wasnt banished from the village he just left we are not sure whether this is true or not plus it isnt stated clearly that anyone knew Madara was alive apart from Itachi as he was considered dead, perhaps Madara approached Itachi as he saw how talented he was and remember we saw him in anbu mask so he could’ve been watching over Itachi. When the time was right he taught him and showed him the Uchiha Cave. So we cant be sure of that

If Madara approached Itachi, regardless of who he claimed to be, I think the Konoha elders would have been interested to know who Itachi was planning to carry out the Uchicha clan assasination with. Madara is an enemy of Konoha probably to the degree that Orochimaru is an enemy of Konoha. I don’t think the Konoha elders would be OK with letting Orochimaru come back to town to kill off the Uchicha, just as strongly as I don’t think they would let Madara do such a thing. Madara fought against the first Hokage. No enemy of that level would be invited to come to Konoha to carry out such a mission. Itachi, as an instrument of the Konoha elders, would be intelligent enough to know that Madara would not be an appropriate partner to destroy the Uchiha clan.

Itachi is not the saviour of the Konoha and the Fire Country. He is not some unassuming tragic hero. He probably killed a lot of Uchiha men, women, and children. And I don’t know why. I think it is possible that Itachi may have been manipulated into doing horrible things.

Almeda I agreement with you to a point but Madara stated that “Itachi was the only figure out he was still alive.” Itachi made and pact with him. So I’m thinkin The 3rd, The Elder nor Danzo know what Itachi was up to.

My theory is this, Danzo was straight ANBU before the Itachi incident. He had similar ideals as Itachi and acted as his superior. Then after the incident he formed root because of argument with the third who was hokage at the time. Also I think madra may have actualy worked undercove for kohana keeping a (Sharingan) eye on his clans in the identity of another uchiha (that he killed)
Also the picture of madra as an ANBU would have to be pre-kyubii at the latest cause after that the clan became police officers.
A fact of note is that in the first shippuden filler (FSF) Tsunade questions Sai’s motives and sends people to investigate Danzo. Also the faces of the twelve shinobi guardsmen are shown so you may want to watch it. Sorry if this is a spoiler or spam.

well, if Madara is telling the truth and nothing BUT the truth, Itachi was a good shinobi (damn
) , and by the age of 4 he witnessed war, so this made him grow up, hating war …. thus his orders were imminent, and he couldn’t do anything but respect the orders…..for if he didn’t, civil war would’ve broken out in Konoha, and the other Great Shinobi countries could see this as a weakness and move in foe the kill, thus a new Ninja World War would’ve broken out….therefore Itachi did all he could do
Strangely enough, I was watching the anime the otherday and I noticed Danzou and Tobi/Madara are quite similar. Both cover half their face. Tobi/Madara covers his left eye leaving only his normal sharingan exposed while Danzou covers his right eye leaving his left side exposed. Also, they have the same hair cut… I think Danzou may be the key element to this story….
well what you where saying about Tsunade VS Pein. i think once Naruto hears about Jiraiya death he will go mental. lately Naruto has got even closer to Jiraiya heart. Maybe even closer than Tsunade( at his death he was talking about naruto). naruto will proably four tails.

has the Root still got as much power as it did when itachi was still in konaha?
Root is still powerful….i don’t think it changed much over the years…..Danzo is still the Leader of Root, they don’t depend on the decision of the Hokage, their assassination’s are kept secret from the Hokage…..they even have acces to the Hokage’s files, something which they shouldn’t, Tsunade may be trying to undermine Root, because Danzo is undermining The Hokage…..something’s rotten in Denmark…..ugh….Konoha

I was actually surprised by the quality of this filler, it actually isn’t that horrible if you compare it to some of the crapfests we were treated to back in the original Naruto anime. I’m glad they expanded more on Chiriku’s character and even gave some background on the 12 Guardsmen (something I think Kishi should have gave more info on in the first place).
I think one of the good things about this filler is that it gave details that will tie in well with the main story

HEY GUYS!!! It’s been sooooooo freakin long huh? Wow, sorry guys for missing so much over the past few months, I don’t even know if you still remember me lol. Well I’ve been SUPER BUSY but I’m back and I’ll be coming up with some new posts soon.
BTW, naruto has been great over the last few months. I’m really getting into the storys of the past and I’m definetly lookin forward to the next one.

Now that all these things have been revealed Kishimoto probably hadn’t killed Itachi.(YESSS ITACHI-SAN).I mean after all these things that Madara revealed Itachi should play a very important role and not be dead.I agree with you guys Tsunade is trying undermine Root.Because Danzou is trying to do the same.Remember when he gave to Orochimaru all the infos about Konoha’s Anbou?And maybe Tsunade knows something about Roots activities over the past years.
Itachi-san is a Hero.Basicly a tragic hero.He did everuthing he could.I can’t blame him.He had seen so many wars and deaths and he did everything so these thing would never happen again.In fact he protected the whole ninja world from a World War.He sacrificed his family and that is a clue about Itachi’s strong will and character.And if what Madara said about an Uchiha rebelion then it had to be even more difficult to him.Why his family wanted more pain and blood and deaths.However he let Sasuke live which means that he was a good brother and he didn’t want his brother to live in such a world of pain and missery.He had no choice.Itachi-san sacrificed his life for the sake of the ninja world.And when i say his life i mean that he could have stay in the village cover things and help the Uchihas to rule .NO.Instead he choose to sacrifice his family in order to keep the peace over the ninja world.ITACHI-SAN YOU ARE A HERO.
i dont think madara is telling the truth… if we consider the ideals of itachi of avoiding civil war so that killings of women and children will be avoided as well…why then itachi murder everyone of his clan, children, women and even innocent ninjas of uchiha who were willing to protect konoha and/or who are still loyal to konoha? and if itachi really cares too much about the konoha, so why then he join the organization which purpose is to dominate the world through wars and envasion? Itachi knew about the activities of his comrades, just like deidara taking down sand village to capture gaara…this is a premature war, and many other activities, and by so far he was helping to capture tailed beasts, is it his ideals? what madara was doing is simply to brainwashed sasuke and go with him against konoha…itachi during his fight with sasuke, i know he was injured before the fight begun…the theory was madara did this so that sasuke has the chance…the truth maybe on madara’s story was that itachi really cares for sasuke…itachi has the purpose for his brother thus he didnt killed it. he did not spare his brother because he cared for him…
itachi did’nt knew who was in the rebellion so he just killed the whole clan and he let sasuke live because he knew sasuke wasn’t in it

POOR SASUKE! I pity him. Once more Kishi gives a great lesson: vengeance in not good, is always bitter and bring more damage. I hope Sasuke gets the message, but I doubt it.
Madara story can’t drive Sasuke to hate Konoha. But this can cause him to go insane, lost memory, or hate Danzou, the Senju and Madara itself. Otherwise Sasuke will seek a path for the redemption of the Uchiha’s name as savers, heroes… possibly with his own death as part of this new goal.
I think Madara tries to convince Sasuke to help him to control the bijuu, so he can tell him now that this will stop war forever or something like that.

Madara is telling HALF LIES lies.
A) Danzou and the elders sending Itachi alone to kill his clan, without bk. Or sending him with Madara. No sense
B) Danzou ordering Sai to kill Sasuke when Itachi was still alive and able to destroy Konoha giving up secret information to avenge his brother. No sense.
C) Also someone who hate war how can kill women and child?
*) Madara killing his clan, when he said that all that he wanted was to protect them, and take revenge on the Senju. Not likely, but possible if we analyze philosophy as Almena said. But this will made Madara a pupil of Maquiavelo and Sun Tzu.
TIMELINE don’t make sense for me
According to Madara story only a few month pas since the end of the war and the attack of the Kyuubi. This because Itachi die at 20 and suppose was 4 at the war. Naruto is 16, and the attack of the Kyubi was 16 yeas ago.
Why people would have doubt that nine tailed aroused cause of the conflicts? Why anyone would have thought that any Uchiha pulled the strings of fox?
Else Jiraya mempoires showed that Kushina was pregnant at peace time.

Been pretty busy… sorry I’m kind of late.
Anyways, this was not so much an exciting chapter, but definitely an important one. We finally get to see what Itachi has been up to for all these years.
After countless speculation, and a bazillion theories, it turns out the big guy really was a caring brother all along. Definitely one of the more touching concepts in Naruto thus far, sacrificing all, for the love of innocence (little Sasuke.)
As far as Madara’s reliability, I trust him. The details might not be 100%, but I think he is telling the over-all truth. If he were lying, Kishi wouldn’t spend 3+ chapters explaining it, that would be insulting to his readers. No, this is the unveiling of the secret behind the Uchiha massacre, and Itachi himself.
If you think about it, it is a fitting solution to the puzzle. It fills all the gaps as to why Itachi was never pursued after leaving the village, why such a seemingly loving brother would do what he did, why he let Sasuke live, why he spared the Konoha ninja every time, and why he is the man.
This, if it doesn’t bring about some psychopathic side to Sasuke, will definitely tear him up inside. As much as he may appear to deny it, inside he knows that what he is hearing is the truth, which is why he is sweating and panting so much. He just found out his whole life was a lie. Poor kid. Let us hope he doesn’t follow Madara, and go against revenge on Konoha now. I think after this he will learn that revenge only leads to bad things. I am still curious however, how Itachi obtained his Mangekyou Sharingan. Maybe Sishui Uchiha found out about Itachi’s double agent-hood, and attempted to stop/kill him. Maybe Itachi didn’t want to, but was forced to fight and ultimately kill Sishui, therefore obtaining the Mangekyou Sharingan.
mabey danzou wanted to see the anbu files, mabey Itachi was in there, I think the MS is aquiered differently, however Itachi wanted to make sure that even in his stuggle for power Saskue still had freinds to pull him back to normalcy after their fight
after seeing what itachi went through just for his brother then i don’t belive that he murdered the uchiha clan. i think madara did most of the killing but itachi just acted the part of the bad guy. ( i don’t think he would kill his parents).
like marti was saying. ‘MS is aquiered differently’ i agree with because when kakashi said that killing someone close to is not the only way to obtain MS. if you see someone close to you die then you will also obtain MS.

I don’t know if it was mentioned but Itachi being a good guy is starting to make a lot of sense to me.
If Itachi was always good, him being in Akatsuki would explain how Jiraiya was always able to get information about them. Itachi never attempted to fight Jiraiya or vice versa, that could be a clue as to Itachi giving Jiraiya info.
Remember when we first met Itachi and he and Kisame were following Naruto and Jiraiya. Itachi was very adament about them not fighting Jiriaya… because he was in cahoots with Jiraiya.
It would also explain why Jiriaya sealed the Amaterasu that Itachi used in order to keep the secret of the Uchiha a secret as well as “stop” Itachi from “killing” Sasuke, keeping Itachi’s true motives a secret as well.
They may be in the same company but I doubt that Jariya knew about Itachi’s innocence unless he heard it from the fourth, in which case Itachi wouldn’t exactly like jariya to much.

Well I think that Itachi was good becaus at the end when Itachi summoned susanoo he could have easly killed Susuke, but insted of killing him he took the remains of Orochimaru out of Susuke and gave him the mangekyou sharingan.
Shika I can see that. Jiriaya is(past tense if he dead I hope not) well respected. But why would he help Jiriaya. What connection does they have. Was Jiriaya givin him info too?!?!????
I think Jariya knew about Akatsuki from doing “Research” I mean he does have that toad transformation jutsu for interagation (I wonder if he can change people back and use this to make non-shinobi’s usefull in battle), The Jariya/Itachi relationship seems possible but not likely.

It’s getting closer to my predictions it seems that you guys noticed that Masashi Kishimoto is doing another sub story to entertain us, will that’s a part of his business “to make us crazy”
As all you noticed the flow of story is getting wider and wider it seems that he want to run the story for another 20 years of anime making or another 20 years of mangga making, here in the Philippines Naruto is a household name from class C family and even to class A, it is also the most awaited anime series in the entire archipelago also gained high ratings in anime war , back to my prediction, As I’ve mentioned to my post a couple of months ago, on the title “Reasons behind my Predictions Of Hokage” i mentioned that Madara might use Sasuke for another mission, and on this chapter of Mangga he start to use Sasuke not by using genjustu but by convincing and that’s might another reason for another revenge against leaf country, as i’ve mentioned also to my post that there are another villains to come that we also not expect to come and become antagonist in the series, I’ve mentioned also that before Nenji give the name 9th Hokage he might die in a battle against the new villain, this might be a right hand of Madara will guys I’m not interfering on the flow story itself but i’m just giving you an idea that’s the reason why we call it prediction.
This is just a beginning for another pathway of Uchiha Sasuke, hope he will not turn into another villain, if he become then he might be my prophecy, lol
Remember wen Madara said he single-handedly fought the village and the 1st Hokage? Maybe he wanted to destroy the Uchiha clan as revenge for leaving him to fight alone…only the best Uchihas like Sasuke would be left alive to help him destroy Konoha…that’s just my theory
I agree with ShikamaruIstheMan .Jiraiya was telling that he had informations for Akatsuki’s movements very often.And as ShikamaruIstheMan pointed during Jiraiya’s encounter with Kisame and Itachi their actions were very strange.Itachi cut Orochimaru’s hand and with another partner like Kisame he could have killed Jiraiya or at least injure him badly.
Shika & Seph – Why would Itachi give Jiraiya info on Akatsuki? But Itachi did mention something to Jiraiya like “No wonder Kakashi knew. You were the source.” when Itachi beat the snot of Sasuke. But if Itachi was lickin info to Jiraiya he shouldn’t be surprise if Kakashi knew about them but he was.

I’m still on the fence, but did you ever notice that Itachi only attacked akatsuki members; Deidra and Orochimaru. His mentality seems to be to subdue everyone except those he knows personaly

Well if i remember correctly Deidara didn’t want to go with Akatsuki and that’s why Itachi beatted him.And Deidara fought Itachi because he was so angry from Itachi’s behaviour.Itachi thought that Deidara wasn’t a valuable member and that Deidara’s art was pathetic.But with Orochimaru he was cruel.Oro lost his hand!!! wasn’t just a fight to show to Oro his place.
