Naruto Manga chapter 391 – Say Hello to Susan

Finally we get to the really juicy part of this fight. Sasuke reveals his trump card, but Itachi still manages to weasel himself out of this one… get it? Itachi? Weasel? To me though, this battle is really becoming more DragonballZ-ish. In DBZ, most fights are just a repeated cycle of character A almost killing character B with a super move, character B is on the brink of death but manages to pull a super super move on character A, character A looks to be beaten but then suddenly performs his super super super move, repeat ad infinitum. And basically what you get are cliff-hangers at the end of each chapter/episode. Are you seeing the similarity to the Itachi vs. Sasuke fight? Well, Kishimoto does use this formula for a lot of his battles, but this is the first one where he has repeated this cycle so many times. If you don’t believe me, count how many times Itachi and Sasuke have supposedly “died†in this battle.
Now, onto the battle itself. The thunderclouds gathering above was indeed Sasuke’s work. The fireballs he shot into the ceiling before were not aimed at Itachi. Their true purpose was to heat up the atmosphere and generate a rapidly rising air current – which is what you need to do to create thunderclouds. Also, some might have wondered why Sasuke didn’t hide inside the complex when Itachi used his Amaterasu. The reason is he wanted to use the heat from the leftover flames of the Amaterasu to help him warm up the air. In effect, Sasuke turned Itachi’s jutsu against him.
Sasuke then moves up to the highest point in their surroundings and activates a Chidori (even though he was supposedly out of chakra last chapter 
) Sasuke’s new jutsu is called Kirin (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Qilin) and it is a lightning jutsu more powerful than any human can produce because it harnesses the element from nature itself. Sasuke uses himself as a lightning rod and uses his Chidori to gather that lightning. All he has to do afterwards is guide all that energy to attack his target. According to the all-knowing Zetsu, lightning can reach the ground at 1/10000th of a second, so even a weasel like Itachi cannot hope to dodge it.
After gathering enough electricity, Sasuke calls down the thunder (Luke 9) and Itachi can do nothing but reap the whirlwind (Hosea 8:7; sorry, Bible references but it just sounded so cool to use). The lightning hits its mark and Itachi looks to be thoroughly fried. Sasuke is so sure he killed Itachi that he turns off his Sharingan. But, as you probably can guess, Itachi really didn’t die (just like the last 3 times he “diedâ€). This was just the end of another one of those cycles I was ranting about, and now its time for Itachi to reveal his next super move.
If you’ve done some research into Amaterasu, you would have known that the name is of a sun goddess in Japanese mythology who is accompanied by two siblings: Tsukuyomi and Susano‘o. So you can probably guess what Itachi’s final jutsu is called – that’s right, Susanoo. Itachi’s Susano jutsu is quite different from his other attacks in that it appears to be a summon, something we’ve never seen Itachi do before (the crows don’t count). Susanoo is a translucent armor that surrounds Itachi and looks like a rib cage. Itachi admits that he would have died from Sasuke’s last attack if it weren’t for this jutsu.
Not surprisingly, Sasuke is really pissed that his brother has survive his “final†jutsu and goes into cursed seal level 2 mode (yeah, out of chakra, sure…). And you can tell Sasuke’s really pissed because not only did he put on black lipstick, he also put on eyeliner. Kukukukuku….
But if you take a close look at Itachi on the last page, you’ll also notice that both of his eyes no longer have the Mangekyou. Based on how contracted both his pupils are, I’d say Itachi is completely blind at this point. This could make for an interesting fight next chapter.

This might not be good for Sasuke. Not only does he suddenly have a lot of chakra, but his left eye now looks like Orochimaru’s. He previously stated that he didn’t kill his teacher, he just took over his body. Orochimaru might be starting to leak out in Sasuke’s weakened state.

I wasn’t the only one to notice that sasuke’s eyes look like orochi’s eyes.Makes you wonder if Orochi pulled a fast one on Sasuke and Orochi is alive and kicking hiding in Sasuke and using some genjutsu to fool Sasuke into thinking that he absorbed him.
sasuke doesn’t seem to have wing…
maybe there’s curse seal level 2 with sasuke in control where he has wings and then there’s level 2 were orochimaru starts taking control without wings… he just looks a little different that’s all.
As always, excellent commentary Bob. I think you hit the nail on the head… . but this is also suppose to be the battle we all waited for… although I’m kinda hoping to see Sasuke vs. Madara… that would be interesting.

this isn’t going how I ever guessed it would go, I’ve been rooting for Sasuke simply because that’s how this story has to be
It does not bode well for Sasuke that Orochimaru has reared his ugly head at the same time as Susano has been revealed.
Because the in the battle between the eight headed snake Orochi and the god Susanoo, Susanoo prevailed and took the Kusanagi.
I don’t believe that Sasuke can die here and now, it wouldn’t follow how the plot should take its course.
I do however believe that in his haste to defeat his brother, he has made some choices that might offer him immediate power, but in the future they will affect him greatly and most likely not in a positive way.
I’d also like to know what Orochimaru accomplished while he was in Akatsuki and why he abandoned them. I have a feeling that the Kusanagi might have been one of the spoils he reaped from the defeat of his Bijuu.
Maybe the whole point of this battle is to obtain what Orochimaru took from Akatsuki in the first place.
to further this theory, Sasuke doesn’t even have the Mangekyo Sharingan yet, and it has been pointed out you need two Mangekyo Sharingans to achieve the EMS
this battle is flawed because Itachi has everything to lose, and Sasuke has everything to gain
I would guess that some orders from higher up in Akatsuki have required Itachi to attempt his assault on his brother sooner than he had wished.
And I just watched the episode where Itachi and Sasuke were younger. There’s something more to Itachi than meets the eye. I really have trouble believing that he is evil at heart.
There are always two sides to every story, and I have a feeling this battle is filled with hidden intentions.
The last thing that bothered me is the vision Itachi planted in Sasuke’s head earlier in the battle. I feel like the fact that he bottled Sasuke’s eye is in some way very significant to the secrets behind the Sharingan. I know it was just an illusion, but why show him that of all things.
Maybe sasuke just likes make-up??!!?? i would have to go with the theory that Orochimaru is acting like a bijuu, and sasuke is a kind of jinchuriiki at this point. He wanted oro’s power like oro wanted his! But i could be completly wrong, and we end up with two orochi’s (remember Kabuto is doing some work as well!) I hope sasuke doesn’t die, i wanna see him get an odama rasengan up his ass!

Well i have to say the Orochimaura theory is starting to sound more and more likely so i can’t rule it out.
“Arex” the comment u asked brung up about Orochimaura killing his bijuu if he had one is kinda a conflict of interest because if he had a bijuu he would be much stronger with it than without it. And Sasuke in C2 form why he doesn’t have two wings is puzzling to me also because even when he fought Diedara he had two wings i think well maybe we will find out in a couple more weeks.
Remember back when Orochimaru first bit saskue and he got the curse seal…? the curse seal would take over when he ran out of chakra, so maybe sauske doesnt need chakra to go activate his curse seal
Whats with everyone saying that Sasuke’s eye looked liked Orochimaru’s. Orochi’s eye looked like a snakes with the thin and long pupil but sasuke’s eyes just look like his regular c2 eyes.

Okay remember Sasuke got hit wing blown blown off by Diedara didn’t he? even if not he used it as a shield in a past battle where he lost it, i remember that. well if we compare sasuke to naruto.id say that naruots eyes turning red is like sasuke using his csl1.when naruto uses the kyuubis chakra like he used when fighting gaara to save sakura,his red chakra was around him and could be an equivalent of sasukes csl2.and when the kyuubi takes over(so far the 4th tail).is the equivalent of where sasuke is now.you know how they say that all jinchuuriki have a distinguishing mark .Gaara has his maskara lol(incomnia marks),Naruto has his wiskers mark that become more defined when he uses his demon fox cloak.Maybe this is his marking by him having the 8 tails is true.at first i thought all this orochimaru 8 tails stuff was a bunch of BS.BUT after seeing this marking on sasuke it seems to be more and more likely.

o.k so sasuke eyes look like itachi and orochimaru.im not sure but the whole orochimaru being a bijuu seems more likely than him taking over sasuke like in kabuto.the reason i say this is because if you look back when kabuto took of his drape we say that his eye looked like a snake just like orochimru with the slit as a pupil.BUT sasuke only has the maskera lol.further more if orochimaru was taking over sasuke shouldnt his body be more like kabutos.meaning that sasukes body would be all scaley like a snake ? But this can still be taken further as to say that.Maybe the maskera is only the beginning of the process and it later progresses to scaley skin ? just a thought of mine.
So are you saying Orochi is or is not taking over Sasuke? I think that just by using the Curse too much he will eventually fall under the influence of either Orochi, or just the dark side, but I don’t think he will literally be possed by Orochimaru, that’s Kabuto’s job as you said.

Yeah actually that caught me a little off track their too because I did realized their eyes were not their normal black colors but I think it is mneant to be just their normal form of sharingan. Sasuke’s eyes are actually supposed to be yellow in his Curse Seal 2 from, as for Itachi, I’m not sure if they are meant to be the way they are. Ohh….Maybe it’s because he is blind and it is just a way to show he is blind, by making his eyes distinctively different.

Sasuke is NOT stronger than the Sannins, well maybe he’s stronger than Tsunade but that’s all. He only “beat” Orochimaru because he was in a very weakened state and Sasuke himself admits to this. So according to the legend, Susanoo is the god of the sea so the jutsu probably has something to do with water.

My 2 cents:
Currently the cursed seal is a good thing for Sasuke because he can draw chakra out of it as a resevoir even though he is out of it personally (like another kyuubi). But, Like someone else stated… I believe it will harm him later on because he is no longer in control of himself. And, his lust for power will result in a deteriorated Old Sasuke with Hands for wings, and an ugly Mascara-filled face.

you know that sasuke was able to harness the power of lightning with his chidori right cause one of his elements is lightning right?? lightning storm justsu? now then maybe naruto will have a similar move but it harnesses the power of a hurricane, hence “hurricane chronicals” and cause he’s a wind element. maybe its the move jiraya wrote on papa toads back before dieing.

i was thinking the same thing about that jutsu 4 naruto but the problem is how does he create the hurricane to start with, coz we know sasuke used heat to form the thunderstorm then manipulate the lightning. i also dnt think that was what jiraya wrote on pa toad, i think thats with relevance to the identity of pain.

His Rasenshuriken is already sort of similar to a hurricane in that it creates a powerful gust when he uses it. So this fight can only end in two ways.. Either it’ll be a draw, or Itachi dies because there’s no possibility that Sasuke will die as he still plays a very large role in the story. My bet is that Itachi dies because he doesn’t seem to serve much of a purpose anymore now that he’s revealed everything to Sasuke.
For all the people wondering about Sasuke’s wings, remember that he can control his curse seal lvl 2 really well like when he fought with Juugo so he can choose to not sprout hand wings if he wanted to.

remember when sasuke first activated c2 against naruto, he didnt have any wings till he had to shield himself against naruto’s attack, my guess is that he can use the wings when he wants, like to shield himself or fly but if he wanted to do a fast attack then i’m guessing they would jst slow him dwn.
so that would mean if sasuke can still control his wings then he still has control of the cm, therfore the reason his eye is changing cant be that the cm is getting out of hand, so it must be orichimaru trying to take over.

yeah Anbu_Quazzie i did catch it after i posted it,that my post could only pertain to itachi because sasukes eyes change because of the curse seal.but i feel lost now.i can only assume that in the split second before or during the kirin attack(because sasuke did the replacement jutsu after he was burned by amterasu).and that is when his left eye became white.
ninetails, sasuke used orichi’s replacment jutsu which kinda gives birth to a new body but is totally healed.
i wonder if sasuke can generate his wings now ?! dont flame me because i know that sasuke is able to do partial transformations.i say this because i have not saw him generate both wings since he lost one of them during his fight with Deidara ? after this ive seen sasuke genreate a wing BUT THE other was a snake ? then he used one wing to try to block amaterasu(he also used one wing to block jugos attack ?

I don’t care for Sasuke, never did, but I think that this fight will be a draw. What keeps Naruto going is his search for Sasuke, and what keeps Sasuke going is his desire to kill Itachi. I do think that Sasuke will eventually win over Itachi, but I don’t believe now is the moment.
I wonder if Susannno is just a ribcage or if it’s a complete … whatevers? I also wonder what kind of attack it is.
Here’s a what if …
Itachi loses this fight and runs away. He goes back to Madara and kills Itachi and takes his eyes as well. Sasuke is robbed of killing Itachi and now goes on to hunt Madara. Wouldn’t that be just crazy?!

yes haruto im totally down with you.im full aware that he can generate one.and it saves more chakra to only ues one.but what im saying is that since he lost one of his wings against deidara,and since then i can only recall him using one wing!(maybe he only needed one,maybe not and he can only use one now).and now that he has lost one to itachi will he ever use his wings ?!
im also a huge bleach fan and it seems alot of ppl on this site also watch it.if you recall during the beginning of the current season when the Espada first appeared (ulquiorra and the 10th espada)in bleach when ichigos inner hollow was coming out and he couldn’t control it yet and it interfered with his match.not allowing ichigo to fight back because he wanted control.then urahara and yourichi took care of them.OR like when uchigo fought with captain kukichi when it totally helped ichigo.So will this eye liner of orichimarus help sasuke or will it be a hinderence ??
i deffinately believe in the whole bijuu theory. it would explain the markings on sasuke’s eyes, and why orochimaru isn’t conscious, because hes not there. It also explains the newfound energy to to cs2. Because sasuke drained of chakra, and seriously pissed off from itachi’s survival (both circumstances of which naruto’s transformations take place.) i don’t think orochimaru is inside sasuke, but the bijuu, because orochimaru’s “rebirth” is where kabuto comes into play. Also, if sasuke does infact have the 8-tails demon in him now, it would make for an awesome fight between him and naruto/9-tails, probable around the end of the series. i don’t know if orochimaru had the 8-tails from birth, which would explain the eye markings like gaara’s, less likely, he obtained it from obsorbing the original 8-tails bijuu during a trip for the akatsuki. if infact sasuke does now have the 8 tails demon in him, this fight with itachi is going to be the perfect circumstance for it to show itself.
i personaly dont think that orochimaru is a bijuu, because remember back to when we first saw naruto go four tails? If orochi was a bijuu or a jinchuricy then he would have powned naruto because he had more experiance, but naruto powned him

Itachi- Sorry for the slow response i meant to write back yesterday that durring the fight Sasuke had with Diedara he only had one wing on his left side and snakes on the right shoulder the reason why i believe now that he will never have two wings again is, because when he absorbed Orcohimaru the right shoulder wing was replaced with snakes. Ok this one is getting a lot of heat… Anbu Quazzie I love the idea of a hurricane type thing, maybe he could change up the rasengan shuriken, to form a tornado or hurricane like he did in the water with the whirlpool!? that would be cool. The suspense is killing me!!! I think Itachi will be killed in the next manga, possibly by Sasuke or someone from team kakashi… or…Kabuto!!! that would be weird. Also in reference to my earlier comment about the 8 tails already being sealed.. and someone saying that they would have Naruto already if so, thats not true they said they have to take the Kyubbi last because it has too much power and will out balance the rest of the Bijuu…that is just what i remembered from the last Akatsuki meeting!

if the historical information about susano the goddess of storm is accurate,then we may be sure that its power is not only to shield itachi but also the ability to attack with tremendous power. this arc is starting to show the capacity itachi has mentioned to sasuke,and if sasuke were to fail in his only goal in life which is to kill his brother, then the reality of itachi’s vision of surpassing madara may come true.

Another theory that probably is flawed as most of my other theories.
There might be more to the Kusanagi blade than it is often given credit for.
One of the legendary blades in Japanese history.
My theory though probably quite far fetched, is that Sasuke might be drawing on a power from the Kusanagi.
I mean, it’s obviously an awesome blade, but why would Sasuke take it if it didn’t serve another sort of purpose?
I took a quick trip to Wikipedia, there are a few powers associated with the Kusanagi, including wind manipulation.
It had many different interpretations, The Sword of Gathering Clouds, The Grass Cutter, The Sword of the Snake. All three of those titles could have relevance to this chapter.
I’m kinda new to this whole reading the chapter as it comes out, so I never actually Sasuke take the blade, but I can only assume he did. But yeah, just another bouncing thought in my head.

And I think the curse seal does play a role in allowing him to draw on more power from wherever kinda like when Naruto runs out of chakra and can draw on the Kyuubi. Now I”m thinking of when Kakashi told Sasuke that if he tried to do more Chidori attacks something bad would happen. I wonder if he knew something and was doing something other then trying to deter Sasuke from using it. Where’s the early bird spoiler this week?
i don’t think orochimaru is taking over sasuke . rather think of it like sasuke assimilating orochi’s soul. if sasuke can use orochi’s techniques, that also means that sasuke will possess other orochi like traits to the extent that they physically manifest on his body. (remember when orochi said that the will of those he takes over are the only things that remain.) he will have some of orochi’s personality in him but sasuke’s mind will remain intact.
orochimaru is gone. don’t you think that would be a fitting end for a man who took over the bodies and lives of countless people just to further his own existence and vile ambitions? furthermore, there would be no point in bringing him back to the stroy when kabuto has already decided to walk the path of orochimaru.
also the idea that orochi’s body is taking over kabuto just means that orochi’s physical body like a parasite (probably due to all the experiments he exposed his body to) wants to survive but there’s no soul in that body. if kabuto survives this process and successfully merges with oro’s left over body, he’ll definetely become the new villain and threat to konoha after the akatsuki arc.
this is why i believe sasuke won’t die here because kabuto will seek revenge on sasuke. kabuto might surpass orochimaru because of his scientific and medical expertise.
another reason why sasuke won’t die here is because kishimoto’s ideal for naruto is that naruto will become a shinobi who succeeds where others have failed. jiraiya tried his best to save orochimaru but failed. naruto is on the same path but this time, he has to succeed or else he’d end up like jiraiya and looking back to how naruto has turned enemies into friends, i think he will.
and if u think about the story, i see 2 paths here. think of the names naruto and kabuto. naruto’s goal is to become hokage which means he has to become the strongest shinobi in his konoha and considering konoha’s strength relative to other shinobi villages, he might become the strongest shinobi of his time. and the force driving him to reach that state is sasuke. kabuto on the other hand also wants to become the strongest. he’s finally acknowledged naruto’s strength and sees the man naruto can become but his driving force is orochimaru his former purpose. the final battle in naruto might end up being the clash between naruto and kabuto as 2 men who want to stand at the top of all shinobi but for different reasons. one wants to create a world where children wont experience his sadness. the other just wants a purpose in his life which in this case is the ultimate strength.
i have an idea on how naruto might get stronger towards the end of the story. think about it, i every anime or story, the worst thing that can happen, always comes very close to happening until a miraculous turn of events occurs. i think akatsuki will capture naruto and try to take away the kyubi. but what if by some freakish kishimoto turn of events, all the bijuu were sealed in naruto or naruto absorbs all the bijuu, that’s nuclear power right there. who in this story is stronger than all the bijuus combined?
if the uchiha’s were that strong, they’d be shinobi gods which all know they aren’t.

sasuke got to have another jutsu or plan before hand, in case itachi somehow counters his attack (which he already did in this chapter) or zetsu might come in and save sasuke and this whole time zetsu only join akatski to gather information on them, maybe thats why he never help out his partner that he was assign too but its just a thought. I don’t think Zetsu is going to do anything to interfere with this fight or any fight for that matter. It seems his sole purpose is observation. I mean if you think about if he were to interfere he’d have done so already because there have been a few instances where Sasuke or Itachi could have died like during Amaterasu or Kirin.

Well, I think that there are three options.1Sasuke kills Itachi but before he dies he tells the truth to Sasuke.2 Itachi tells Sasuke what happened and that he is realy bad or not and 3 someone [maybe Zetsu] enters the fight and ends this.
And my opinion about Itachi is that he let Sasuke live for another reason.He coulden’t prodict what would have happened to Sasuke.I mean if he ‘ll die or not.S he coulden’t have his eyes.If the only thing that he wanted from Sasuke were his eyes he could have taken his bro with him and keep him close .

Though my theory earlier was wrong in application, I did mention that I thought the swords would play an important part, and if this spoiler is legit I was right on that fact.
I’m starting to wonder just how many Kusanagi blades there are.
There’s no way Sasuke could die here. Kabuto promised to kill Sasuke to avenge Orochimaru’s death. It turns out Sasuke didn’t kill Orochimaru, which now makes Itachi his target. Though I hate all these theories about this battle ending with another party jumping in, I don’t see much more of an option for Sasuke anymore unless that happens.

how the Orochi fits into the story of Orochimaru or his past I have no idea, all i know is that Orochimaru was born looking the way he does now, so it would seem that it would have something to do with his family as opposed to when he acquired the body of the Orochi

well maybe the idea of sasuke orochimaru, is a sort possibly true, since sasuke overpower orochi in his weaken state…a state where his “will” has no match as compare to sasuke… but in this fight sasuke is the one on his weakened state…orochi in a certain dimension( maybe a container where orochi is temporarily sealed) can possibly take over sasuke by this time…orochi’s chakra maybe was the one resposible why he still manage to generate chidori to amplify natures lightning…
The basis of this, is the very statement of sasuke himself…” he will do everything, even to let his body to become a container of orochimaru, as long as he will be stronger and achieve his goal- to kill his brother, Itachi”
during the fight of sasuke and orochi, kabuto was confused if sasuke already is orochi, or sasuke already overpowered orochi…yet sasuke reveals that he indeed defeated orochi…yet there was no sign that orochi was already dead or killed by sasuke since the fight shown was an opposing dimensions…that when orochis dimension wins sasuke becomes a container, and when sasuke’s dimension wins orochi will be sealed…and the chapter showed sasuke got the victory…
so maybe these ideas were springboard to bring orochimaru back to the scene…to confirm that indeed, orochi is not yet dead…
also, jiraiya, no wonder, he will come back to the scene in one of the future chapters…since there was no confirmation he was already dead…

I think Jiraiya was referring to the Demon Fox’s cloak when he said “Don’t use that jutsu.” But you could be on to something there as well. Kind of similar to when Orochimaru told Sasuke to hold back from performing the Kirin. Balance and replaying of old stories is always what sagas like this seem to emphasize on.

There is a formula to the sealing statue where we have theorized that the only bijuu left are the 5 tails and 9 tails (balance of the sealing statue) OR the 8 tails and 9 tails (the most powerful bijuu). So, technically it could go either way. In the summary Bob followed the balance of the sealing statue.
All we know is that the Kyuubi needs to be sealed last.
And I’m not convinced Orochimaru is a bijuu just yet. He had 8 heads but that doesn’t neccisarily transulate into the 8 tailed beast. I think J-sama or Nef wrote a blog about that.
About someone stepping in to save Sasuke… Orochimaru already stepped in so it’s anybodies game at this point. Whether Zetsu will get involved is another question.
ALso, remember Karin can sense Chakra level so if team Hebi thinks that Sasuke is sucking out… Jugo and Karin could always leave Kisame and waterboy and come to save Sasuke.
Plus, the konoha ninja are not too far off and there’s enough of them for oh… let’s say a Naruto to escape Madara to come and save Sasuke.
AND there’s always the Kabuto factor. Maybe the release of Orochimaru would allert the peices of Orochimaru in Kabuto to his where abouts.

if you have read information on susanoo then you must have read about the story.of how the eight headed(i know that the bijuu go by their tail count,but maybe its heads this time) orochi stuck his head in i believe 8 rice hars with some drug or something.and then while its heads where in the jar susanoo began to chop the orochis head off.and as he cut off one he found a sword called something.and the sword was later renamed after some man used it to defeat some bad guys in a grass field.as the man swung the sword he noticed that it controlled the wind.the whole eight heads and the jars is coming up it the story as i know all of us have seen the spoilers.but just as somone mentioned about how nef of sombody elso wrote a blog about.this is still not proof
it seems everyone in my opinion is underestimation tsunade.i always thought of orochi to be the strongest just like sasuke.but just as naruto had caught up to or even surpassed sasuke.that maybe with time that jiraiya had done the same.i thought j-sama was o.k when he fought orochimaru.but both of them were so badly injured(one drugged and the other armless).then when i saw how jiraiya snuck into the rain village and i was like i never knew he was that cool and good.then once i saw how much guts and powerful jutsu he had to fight pain with,continue fighting when he had a chance to leave and secure his life.i developed an entire new level of respect for j-sama.and in my mind he had become stronger than orochimaru.but on the flipside i’ve never seen orochi fight at full power(not counting his fight with sandaime.i believe if the had not summoned the shodai and nidaime hokages that he would not have won.some say he did it for enjoyment of making sandaime fight against his old friends,i believe he did it as an attempt to win)..then when tsunade fought against kabuto she was severly emotionally distraight.but shes a ninja so she has to deal with crap like that.but then again she was attacking both orochi and kabuto and kabuto is just as strong as kakashi.

I don’t know if Itachi was kidding, but in season 1 when Itachi told his partner that they can not go head to head with Jaraiya. It will take 2 dead Akatsuki to kill a Sanin(Jaraiya) and it not worth it. It took 6 Akatsuki(Pein) to kill Jaraiya. That’s a powerful Sanin.

I agree with you about Itachi… I thought he was evil at the beginning of the battle but after thinking about it…. And the point about him and Naruto discussing more than what was in the manga was a good one. Now that I think about it… maybe Naruto is suppose to distract Madara so he doesn’t interfear with the ousting of orochimaru. But the thing that doesn’t make sense is that both Uchiha’s will be burnt out and wouldn’t be able to put up a fight against anyone…. where are you going with this kishimoto?
anyway… I had these thoughts…
If the spoiler is right. Then Itachi was probably pushing Sasuke to his limit to have him release orochimaru so Itachi could kill him… or whatever. So Itachi could still actually be good.
Alright… this is about Kusanagi swords. Ok, here’s the theory. Kisame has a Kusanagi sword that steels chakra. Orochimaru and Sasuke have Kusanagi swords… and in theory Suigetsu has another Kusanagi sword. It seems odd that they took a trip all the way to get Zabuza’s sword… if it didn’t have special powers. And it turns out Itachi had another Kusanagi sword that he was hiding from Orochimaru.
Here’s the theory,
Someone asked how many Kusanagi swords there are… and the answer is 7… one for each of the Seven swordsmen of the mist. Orochimaru and Itachi may have encountered the 7 swords men of the mist is order to take their swords. And in doing so they also annexed Kisame into Akatsuki… Anyway… Orochimaru thought the sword Itachi kept got away or was sealed somewhere. But he finds out that Itachi kept it all along.
anyway… the last theory I had according to the spoiler is that tsukuyomi is linked to the moon, Amaterasu is linked to the sun… as is Susanoo because the clouds Sasuke created get blown away and Zetsu makes a comment that he’s only good for one shot… which may mean Susanoo is solar powered…. maybe.

Kisame, Orochimaru, Sasori, Deidara, Zetsu all are Frankenstein creatures of their own creation in a search for power. And in essence, that’s what Madara is also. now that I think about it, even Pein is a monster of Frankenstein…. as was Kabuza and Hidan in different ways. The only Akatsuki characters that don’t seem so blood thurst and Frankenstenish are Itachi and Konan. Besides that everyone in Akatsuki has some sort of need to kill people and lust for power.

It’s just weird because In mythology there was simply one Kusanagi blade cut out of the tail of the Orochi by Susanoo. In reading the manga I found out Sasuke was given another Kusanagi blade by Orochimaru, Orochimaru has one, and now so does Itachi. So far Kishi hasn’t been following the mythology word for worf, which I appreciate. It leaves everything up in the air.

The seven swordsmen may have come from a myth about 7 really talented fighters back in China’s Dynasty where they were split up into 7 different countries. Each country had an exceptional fighter that carried a sword with it’s own type of style.
The Kusinagi swords on the other hand are different. The Kusinagi sword was the sword that was revealed when the 8 tailed beast was decapitated. The 8 tailed beast was the only kyuubi that had chakra comparable with the 9 tails, and some say that is where the Kusanagi sword might draw its power from. However, the sword was presented to the Gods Amaretsu, Susano, and Tsukyomi and Something happened where they used it with fire and yadda yadda…
Anyways, it turned out that they lost the sword for a while, and they had a shpeel about that for a while.
Anyways, The 7 Swords are Zanpato swords with a background historical reference towards the 7 Swordsmen of the China History.
And, the Kusanagi sword is the sword with mystical powers and related towards divinity towards the Japanese myth of the gods.
the Kusanagi sword that Itachi have, maybe is the sword that drew out the power of the 8 tailed beast?
… and one thing, the real Pein is not Yahiko, because Jiraya trained 3 childrens, Nagato (now known as Pein with Rinnegan), Yahiko (with some special raining technique) and Konan who controls Paper.. And we havent seen the real body of “Pein” yet, but go back in the manga and read the chapters there Jiraya trains them and watch how Nagato (Pein) looks like, and then look at girl who is Tsunade’s helper or what to call it.. they look almost the same, same hairstyle, same bodylook and they dress the same…(thats just my theory)

I like your explanation and I know where your coming from but the fact of the matter is Kishi has presented us with 4 Kusinagi blades… and also, a trip to fetch Zabuza’s sword for whatever reason. I was trying to tie it all together because if you think about it… WTF itachi gets a random sword that … WTF Orochimaru has been searching for… forever… that doesn’t make sense unless it ties together. So I guess that Zabuza’s sword is also a Kusinagi blade and the blades originally belong to the seven swords men of the mist as shown here

In one of the last chapters we saw two pictures.Sasuke and Madara when they were younger and they were very similar{personal opinion}.So maybe Madara finds his self in Sasukes face in one way.
Now that Kakashi and his team are facing Tobi one of them might recognize the other.I think it ‘ll be interesting to find out how Kakashi managed to take Madara’s eye{if the theory is true}.
Also i want to learn Zetsu’s role in the hole story.He was just ordered from Pein to watch Itachi and inform Akatsuki about the result of the fight or he is there for another reason???
Well now that orochi is back in one way , maybe a bond between him and kabuto will be created and kabuto might come to his rescue.So Sasuke will be saved to , but he will be just a container.{JUST A THEORY}.

First of all, Madara dont want Sasuke’s eyes (because madara already got EMS = permament/eternal mangekyou sharingan)
Second, Itachi wants to obtain EMS too thats why he’s going after Sasuke..And third, Kakashi took madaras eye ? ehm … Tobi was a team mate to kakashi long time ago, but then he was in a accident with some rocks, and then with kakashis’ and Tobi’s other teammates help. Tobi gave one of his sharingan eyes to kakashi.. Madara is a different person than Tobi. Madara father was the Tengu Demon and his mom were from the hyuugas.. And yes Itachi is badly damaged by the use of his MANGEKYOU, because the more you use the MS (mangekyou) you get more and more blind..

About the jutsu that the 3rd used i don’t think that sasuke can use it as well.Maybe he can use the secrifice technique that the examiner {orochi’s old student} used in the chunin exam in the forest when she fought against orochi.But still i don’t think that orochimaru could have tought sasuke a jutsu that he could use it as a weapon against him.

Well the theory about madara andthe eyes is wrong.I think everyone has the right to make mistakes.But thanks i was confused with the whole story.I ‘ll ask something but please don’t hit me{hahahahaha!just kiding} hasn’t madara put a part of him inside tobi’s body or i got it totaly wrong.???
My mistake it is just a photo and it is not from a chapter.But if you look sasuke and madara or madara’s brother they are similar.
Many things to analyse in the battle between the uchihas.The title of the chapter 393 is promising ”MY EYES”.I hope that it means itachi’s eyes{but i don’t think so}.But on the other hand what happens next if itachi takes sasuke’s eyes.I hope that sasuke’s team or naruto or someone will save sasuke.
one, i think everyone is confusing Tobi with Obito Uchiha, Obito was Kakashi’s teamate, who gave his eye to Kakashi right before he died
So far we have no idea who Tobi is other than that he also claims to be Madara Uchiha and that he does in fact have a Sharingan eye.
And btw Siskin, great pic! Way to support your theories with solid possibility. Those other swords could be the Kusanagi. It might explain why Orochimaru was in the Land of Water(Hidden Mist Village) when he found Kimimaro. He was there to acquire the sword(s). It also makes sense that the Kaguyas would have chosen to attack when the village’s best Shinobi were absent/dead.
However I don’t think Itachi’s sword was one of these, simply because Zetsu said it was an astral sword, and I am guessing it doesn’t materialize in the world unless someone is using the Susanoo jutsu.
Someone also stated a theory that the Susanoo sword was used to cause the disaster with the Kyubbi, and I really liked that idea.
But what if sasuke kills itachi?What’s next?They ll live happily ever after?Sasuke and naruto will be friends again.
