Naruto Manga chapter 381 – His True Identity

This chapter continues with the Jiraiya vs. the Six Peins battle but starts off already part ways in to the fighting. Jiraiya lies wounded in a sanctuary/dimension he created. The body of Pein which resembles Deidara has injured him with the black belt we’ve glimpsed at earlier. However, this Pein has fallen into Jiraiya’s “barrier trap†in the process of carrying out his attack and has been cut in half – likely when Jiraiya closed the barrier to his dimension. The black belt has a secondary effect of messing up Jiraiya’s chakra moulding ability (possibly an effect of the Rinnegan) and Pa toad has to remove it for Jiraiya. Also note that when Pa moves to reach the belt, he elongates his body and it looks like he (and Ma) could be melded into Jiraiya’s body and not just perched on his shoulders a previously thought.
Jiraiya thinks back to when Nagato asked him how he can grow up and after comparing it to when Pein said that other peoples’ pain helped him grow up, he admits that the person in front of him must be Nagato. But then the body’s head protector falls off, revealing a deep scar on the forehead, and Jiraiya sudden realizes that he ha fought this person before. After being toad the Toad Sage’s prophecy, Jiraiya began travelling the world as it was foretold. But during the journey he was ambushed by a member of the Fuuma Clan. Jiraiya managed to injure the shinobi with a cut to his forehead – that shinobi is the one and same as the body in front him right now.
Jiraiya thinks back to the prophecy and believes he must try to figure out who Pein really is. Knowing that his chances of survival are pretty low if he goes back through the barrier, he asks Ma and Pa toad to return home. Of course, the toads think that’s a very bad idea especially with Jiraiya already badly injured. But Jiraiya is determined because he believes this must be the tough decision he as meant to make. He asks that the severed body of Pein’s to be brought back to Tsunade for study, but Pa insists that only Ma go and for himself to remain behind to backup Jiraiya.
Jiraiya and Pa exit their barrier dimension from another weird looking toad. Note that the markings on Jiraiya’s face have again gone down a level to what they looked like near the beginning of this encounter with Pein – Jiraiya is continuously getting weaker. A sneak shuriken attack is easily dodged and the other Pein bodies are immediately alerted to Jiraiya’s presence. Jiraiya takes a closer look at all the faces of his enemies again and realizes that they are all people they have met before. Everything suddenly begin to come together and Jiraiya finally figures out Pein’s true identity. But before he can make a move, one of the Peins attacks him by emerging from below the water’s surface. Jiraiya spits out blood as his throat is being crushed. At that same moment, the other four remaining Peins plough into Jiraiya each with their black belt weapons aimed at his back.
Oh great, another really suspenseful cliffhanger. Is Jiraiya dead? What is the true identity of Pein? Who were these other ninjas that Jiraiya has met in his past and how did they become Pein’s bodies? I also wish they’d showed us the beginning of the battle between Jiraiya and the Six Peins. Though I guess this kind of picture narrative does create some more tension and leaves it to our imagination as to what happened after the end of last chapter.
We also hear of the Fuuma Clan again, just who are they? I know a Fuuma clan appears in the Naruto anime, but that was filler material and I don’t consider it to be canon. Looking at the six faces Jiraiya matched to Pein’s bodies, most appear to hail from different villages. The skinny taijutsu guy’s from Takigakure: Hidden Village in the Waterfall, the chiselled chin guy could possibly be from Sand because of that type of cloak collar shown (but this is conjecture only), the fat guy’s from Grass, the guy with no neck – I have no idea, the Deidara lookalike was said to be from Fuuma clan, and Yahiko was from Rain. The only link between them seems to be that they met Jiraiya sometime in his past. And based on the time difference (several years) between Jiraiya’s meeting with the Deidara guy and when he met Yahiko, all these characters are spread out through time and probably never met each other before. Obviously, someone else is pulling the strings here but why bring these six strangers together just because they met Jiraiya before?
My prediction for the next scene in this fight is that Pa toad would block the attacks on Jiraiya but likely sacrifices himself to do it. Jiraiya then would have two courses of action: 1) go berserk and attempt to take down as many Peins with him as possible using a suicidal jutsu 2) realizes he needs to survive to at least get the true identity of Pein out and manages to send off a messenger; whether he survives after this is still hard to say mainly because I don’t what poor Jiraiya to die.
Why does the old dude have girly lashes? ._.
Could Pein have felt abandoned when Jiraiya left and went around harvesting all of Jiraiya’s victims. Or Yahiko and the others couldhave found out that Jiraiya was one of the warring Sannins and gotten really pissed about it. o-o

I agree, there’s too much coincidence that Jiraiya has previously met all 6 Pein bodies. Someone has set this up. Maybe Mandara is the one who gave those bodies to Nagato so he could do his soul transfer into them? If the TOM theory is right, that could explain why Pein takes orders from TOM; as payback for the bodies.

no I think that was just a coincidence, the producers just made up a name. At the time, I doubt Kishi even revealed his plans for the manga up to this point.
yo,why would toad sacrifice and block the attacks? I bet Jiraiya takes the attacks, tells who he thinks Pein is and then the toad is unsummoned to go back to Tsunade. Its tricky with Pein bodies – maybe they would be different for different opponent? Maybe Rinnegan brings up whatever is in opponents mind and materializes into a body? I bet its a wicked way Pein sees everything – he is even fighting with people who had ben injured and felt pain by the opponent, in this case J-sama.

that’s a good theory elerium. But I don’t know about Yahiko’s case. I doubt Jiraiya ever physically caused pain to him. So it have been emotional pain from seeing Jiraiya leave them. But it’s not like Jiraiya just suddenly abandoned them one night. He trained them for Three years and said his farewells too. Yahiko must have know Jiraiya wasn’t gonna hold his hand for the rest of his life right?
Nowhere did it say Jiraiya killed any of them, certainly he didn’t kill Yahiko.
well, the most i could assume is that this is a way Pein treats his enemies – shapes them in a form resembling people his enemies hurt in the past. But who knows – one of the bodies was the same to everyone. and he did mention that he has a body for each different task.. it could also be, as someone said, that yahiko or nagato went back through the steps of J-sama and found all the people relating to him – however, Pein didn’t remember ho J-sama was when he confronted him several chapters ago – so if everything is a planned-out set up, it would be very strange for Pein not to recognize a person this set up is dedicated to.. So i guess its happening naturally to him…
im just saying maybe because it makes me wonder when jariaya said iv met them before? what happened when he met them?

Going back and finding (and maybe killing) all these people must have taken a lot of time – all of it just to defeat Jiraiya? What could have warped Nagato so much to make him hate Jiraiya this much?

Your guess is as good as mine, but maybe it can be guessed based on the village they came from. Like the fat guy from grass, being able to absorb and meld things seems to be a common theme for ppl from that village.

Nagato couldn’t have. In that flash back pic, Jiraiya looked like he did when he first met the Toad Sage, Nagato must have been either a baby or wasn’t even born at the time.
But another possibility could be that Nagato is really older than he appears.. even when he first met Jiraiya. Who knows what abilities the Rinnegan has.
In the beginning, the six Peins’ where in those photos and now Jiraiya is included in this photo. What if he will be turned into to the next Pein? Apparently these other fighters who became Pein where great fighters from there villages. Just like Kakuzu would take the hearts of warriors when he would lose one, Pein might replace Jiraiya with the other Pein. Just a thought.
Hopefully, Jiraiya is ok but it seems in most movies the teacher dies and the student takes revenge.
shit it would be damn sad to see naruto fighting with pein and one of peins being Jiraiya. half of that country would go in fox flames..
thats just so wierd that jariaya meets those ninja again. pein is so mysterious. another way that pein knows about these other mysterious ninja is that the rinnegan has a power that he goes into jariayas mind and torture him the way (possibly) he killed them.
that would be such a good twist! I don’t know what Naruto would do if he had to “kill” his sensei.

I also think Tsunade may join this fight very soon. She told Jiraiya that if their is a problem send a frog to me and I will come. Knowing Jiraiya would be in life or death, Tsunade would use them to teleport to join this fight. Just a thought
All of the sudden they are using their belts. Besides loss of controled chakara, that may be away to help with the transfer or bind him to complete the transfer. Pein also seems to recieve the abilities and they only use their main talent in battle. If you notice, they don’t use elemental jutsus’, it may be because these are blooline or forbidden jutsu created by the the “previous tenants” of their bodies.
tsunade might get so mad and unleash her dangerous side but then she might not be strong enough and die too then naruto might get 6 tails!
I think that is the last of what we will see of jiraiya for now everyone will think he’s dead but really either be imprisoned by pain or made one of pains bodies or just killed. Even though i don’t want him to die i wish they go back to naruto and sasuke.

A while ago i said that tsunade might join this fight and get killed as well, and everybody discarded my theory… now as the story continues i get more(?) convinced (i don’t know if i spelled this right xD, english is not my mother language) that what i was right. I don’t think tsunade could be stay in konoha doing nothing if ma toad tells her what’s happening.
And if pein can beat jiraiya, tsunade should be a piece o’ cake

I dont believe the fight will last long. Tobi made a comment “and ponders whether Sasuke will remain to crawl like a snake on ground or soar to the sky like a hawk.” I think Itachi will give reason to why he did what he did. He will probaly share his secrets of the new sharringan with Sasuke and want to join forces(along with Tobi).
Itachi is definitely stronger of the two. His genjutsu, ninjutsu and probably taijutsu all surpass Sasuke’s. But Itachi isn’t there to fight.
I wonder if they can revive the guy who was split in half, well I guess there wouldn’t be much of a point as he would just writher on the ground while screaming in agony anyways. You know.. there really wasn’t much of a point of Jiraiya going out there and confronting the Peins, I mean all he did was look at them and then realized something. I know he was running low on chakra but surely, he could have created a shadow clone to see all of their faces.

Maybe. But I think it’s rather a frog-summoning scroll. (very ashamed)
True, but it seems a bit oversized for just toad summons. Tenten carries a similar sized scroll in part II for weapon summons, but it makes sense because she uses a bazillion of them in a fight. I’m sure Jiraiya has a lot summons, but it can’t be that many.
Don’t forget it’s also a contract for new “recruits”.

Wow, that was one of the best episodes I’ve read!! I agree with elerium’s theory – the jutsu Pein is using somehow shows people you’ve hurt in the past. Maybe you’re fighting their pain.
Did Nagato take Jiraiya literally when he said “knowing what it feels like to be hurt is exactly why we try to be kind to others”, and somehow merge himself into all the pain that’s ever been felt?
If this is true, he might be acting like some sort of god of vengeance… giving back all the pain you’ve caused to others.

So, we know Ma and Pa can teleport (or move very quickly). Does that mean Tsunade can save Jiraiya in time? Would she even be able to fight Pein if he transformed into Dan and Nawaki?
Jiraiya needs to survive to tell Konoha what he knows about Pein, otherwise Naruto and the gang will be at the same disadvantage Jiraiya had a few mangas ago.
If Pa gets Jiraiya back to Konoha, I’m sure Tsunade can help him. His wounds are serious, but probably nothing she hasn’t healed before.
I’m a bit suspicious of those belt things. What does it mean to be it by 5 of them at a time? I hope Jiraiya was using his hair shield jutsu.
Hey – I’ve just had a thought. I think the only person who can defeat Pein is someone who has defeated their own personal pain in the past.
Naruto suffered a lot of pain in his childhood, and unlike almost everyone, he turned that pain into kindness, and has helped so many overcome their own pain.
I think he’s the only one who can defeat Pein.
Wow! Great chapter! This chapter hints at Pein not being Nagato… This would mean that someone defeated Nagato and Yahiko and took the Rinnegen and Yakhiko’s body and became friends with Konnan? That doesn’t seem likely to me.
I don’t think that Pein summoned Jiraiya’s enemies or else Jiraiya would have recognized them sooner. I think that Jiraiya knows these ninja because they were all notable ninja and they were known throughout the world of Shinobi. This would mean that Pein is so awesome that he was able to defeat all of them and take control of their bodies.
It would be such a weird twist if he takes Jiraiya’s body and gives it the Rinnegan! That might mean that he might be able to be brought back to life! Wow there has never been this many comments on the first day before!
Oh Yeah… and I also think that Tsunade will come right away. I think that she is secretly in love with Jiraiya and she will tell her subordinates to analyze the bodies while she goes back and helps Jiraiya. Who ever said that Tsunade isn’t as powerful as Jiraiya is wrong. Remember, she almost killed him and she is HOKAGE!!! Maybe she will show her secret jutsu while fighting Pein! But I think that she will just go and rescue Jiraiya and run back and heal his wounds.
I like all the theories, but if Pein/TOM whomever is Bringing these guys back to life, isnt it possible they could use jiraiya’s body when hes dead? just like pein is doing to all the other guys? Just like Orochimaru wants sasuke’s maybe pein wants Jiraiya’s but for alternate means of course =]

. I love your theory about this pain Naruto felt. It is specifically emphasized several times in the manga and anime that Naruto is different from the others because he defeated his pain. Doesn’t matter if it is true that Pein shapes his bodies to resemble people from the past or not – this theory that Naruto is the only one Pein wont be so strong against is fantastic.
I think Pein was trying to enter Jiraiya’s mind when he stuck him with the belt.
Also… I don’t think he’d want Jiraiya considering the guy only has one arm and Kakuzu isn’t around to stitch people back together.
Where’s Konan while all this is happening? I bet she stole the rinnengan from them and killed the boys and now she’s taking her revenge
ALso, Pein recognized Jiraiya as his teacher, so he must either be Yahiko, Nagato, Konan or another former student.
The body of Yahiko must have some significance because he’s still wearing the necklace. Kishi shows everyones necks except for guy smiley.
The smiley Pein bothers me because he looks like a villian from Dragon Ball z plus he was really creapy looking as a person as well. As pein, he looks more normal and I think he’s one of the hardest to recornize besides old chiseled guy pein.
If these folks were jiraiya’s greatest opponents I would bet Orochimaru would be amongst them. Pein wasn’t anticipating running into Jiraiya so I doubt that the significance of the bodies was people he hurt. Or else Jiraiya may be fighting of a plethora of girls!
I think it will take a Sasuke Naruto tag team to defeat pein. Because if naruto is helping defend someone he’ll fight to his true potential kinda like when him and sasuke fought Haku towards the beginning of the manga.

ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha lol naughty or nice that is so cool. hey siskin, i really dont think that naruto and sasuke will team together because when naruto finally found sasuke, sasuke tryed to kill naruto so why would he want to work with him. and the valley of the end battle sasuke alsotryed to kill him. but maybe itachi might tell sasuke about another way to get the mangekyou sharingan. or itachi might not and sasuke still might use the old way of getting the mangekyou sharingan. and pein is so gunna kill jariaya im sorry but there is no way he can win.

And the process of getting the Mangekyou is still very vague. Kakashi has it, but he didn’t KILL Obito. Possibly there’s a differen’t “path(s)” to achieving the Mangekyou?

The bodies came out of some sort of “tank” similar to a cryogenic (however you spell it) freezing thing. There are alternate means of getting the MS, but sasuke may be holding out on us? and like the demon fox says He hasnt seen eyes like that since uchiha madara.. so his eyes are powerful anyway, Not saying they are in comparison to the MS.
The Body’s pein summoned arnt like a ressurection technique, similar to Orochimaru’s becuase they have the piercings, but they dont have their own self-concious minds either Pein does.

i like the idea that maybe its all a type of genjutsu he may be figting say, 5 shadow clones each only using 1 ability but what he see’s are people he has hurt in some way and their pain….but its a weak theory and there are some points that dont make sense

jiraiya’s ninjutsu are way beyond that of tsunade.

It was mentioned earlier that SAsuke and Naruto fighting together only enhances Sasuke’s abilities, such as the wind/fire combination. But really, Naruto would get the most out of them teaming up since Sasuke can control the Kyuubi from within Naruto. So, in theory (at least in my head), if they were fighting together Naruto could release all the Kyuubi’s chakra within him and Sasuke could supress the Kyuubi’s “personality” (i don’t know what to call it when Naruto goes past two or three tails and loses contiousness). I figure Sasuke can do that not only from when he talked with the Kyuubi in Naruto’s head but also when he controled the “Snake King” summon to survive Diedera’s final attack.
On another note, Lovething, I gotta give you credit for coming up with the Naruto vs. Nagato Pain thing. After i read that I started thinking about it and in the entire Narutoverse, Naruto is really the only character to go through an enormous amount of emotional trauma and not be consumed by hate for everyone, like Nagato.
Also, in the first flashback when Jiriaya first saw Nagato and the Rinnegan he said that it was the Fuuma clan’s eye bloodline ability. And now he tells us that the Pein who stabbed him with the belt is also from the Fuuma Clan… Maybe all of Pein’s bodies are fellow Fuuma Clan members. I personally think we are overthinking the fact that Pein has bodies of people Jiriaya has met before.
Oh yeah, maybe the “Sand Village Pein” is Gaara’s father. If I remember correctly he was killed by Orochimaru before the Chunin exams.
Also he really resembles Jugo as well, like splitting image.
After this week, when all my finals are done, I think I am going to write a blog about the 6 Peins and go through the manga to try and find characters from the same village/or look similar to try and get some hints to who these people are.
Also, if they are people that Pein has defeated before and Jiraiya has met then one of them most probably if the guy who gave the Sannin their title, I forget his name.
i think that tobi is obito. I mean, think about it. He has a right eye hole, his hair is way too short to be like uchiha madara’s, ad pay attention to his personality. And in chapter 363, In japanese, Tobi isn’t saying, “I am Uchiha Madara,” he’s actually saying, “This is the power of Uchiha Madara.” I think that Masashi Kishimoto put this out to fool us. And, one more thing, look at the lettering. tObi-toBi-tobI-Tobi-tObi=Obito. That would be kool if Kakashi got to see his old teammate again, lol.

I very seriously dout that pein is there fighting Jaraiya but using dead ninjas to fight for him and he’s sitting somewhere else controling them like puppets to do his dirty work. Example was when Pein told kisame that he better be glad that he show him and Itachi how to do a dead soul transfer jutsu that allows the user to give the dead person any percentage of there chakra to judge how strong they was going to be, but both Itachi and Kisame only used 30% when fighting the leaf village ninja’s on there way save Gaara.
Pein could be giving the dead ninja’s 100% each with him using some of the chakra from the bijuu’s that’s already captured. what do u think about that?

when reading about all the bijuu, it says a few times that all the other bijuu(besides kyuubi) feared the 8 tails. i wonder what manner of being the eight tails is. i thought for a while that it was a snake and that Orochimaru might have been the jinchuuriki, but why would akatsuki allow him to be in their organization without extracting the eight tails. plus hes pretty much dead, or so it seems.

This analysis can just be given of someone who possesses the MS himself and now Itachis phrase:”Kakashi-san, you couldn’t have…” if you complete it it should end with”…copied it”. this makes sense if you think of Kakashis nickname “Kakashi the copy ninja”

come on guys, is clear that Kakashi didnt kill anyone, especially any of his friend.s Now, it doesn’t really matter how exactly Kakshi activated his MS – all we know is that he took some time for preparing it. So it definitely has to do with the way molding the chakra correctly etc. What we can state from this fact – there is another way of achieving MS than by killing your friend, i am not sure Sasuke knows that Kakashi has MS – it would be quite interesting for him to understand that – maybe he would not get so sucked up in Itachis games..
Kakashi isn’t that kind of person who would even take in consideration to use such a jutsu plus he could just have copied the basics which led to the new eye design. also Kakashi is considered a genius. maybe he made up his own type of mangekyou sharingan with the informations he got frfom his encounter with Itachi

Kakashi’s mangekyou is nothing like Itachi’s if you’ve noticed. Kakashi just calls it that ’cause he could’n't come up with a better name. Itachi’s MS is a form of genjutsu & Kakashi’s is a time-space-thingy-jutsu. So I don’t think Kakashi copied it.

The development of a Mangekyou Sharingan is a psychological procedure. I imagine that the jutsu the eye allows you to use either correspond to the conditions under which you gained the eye or the pattern in the eye itself. Itachi’s is a spiraling pinwheel that looks like a hypnotic wheel, so it would be used for mind techniques. Kakashi’s is a sharper, edgier one, so it is suited for attacks. I don’t know what Sasuke’s will look like, although I’ve included my preliminary design in my new avatar.
I believe Kakashi did achieve the MS. Itachi was shocked because it threw him off to see someone that is not of the Uchiha bloodline continue to develop their unique Kekkei Genkai. Kakashi is a genius, but it has been said before that the Sharingan “cannot” copy any Kekkei Genkai.
Think of this… is it possible that since Kakashi has the Sharingan, he is slowly being able to develop the abilities of a true Uchiha? It kinda makes sense that as time goes on, the ability is able to be increased, and his body is able to adjust to “fuse” with the Sharingan.
In that sense alone, Kakashi has been able to make the Sharingan his own.
Yellow Flash, along those lines , I remember Kakashi no Itachi saying that the use of the Sharingan puts a lot of strain on the body and the Uchihas are genetically stronger/tougher/ whatever you want to call it that allows them to use their sharingan without having to endure the fatigue we see Kakashi endue everytime he uses his Sharingan be it three tomed or MS.
sorry bob about the caps, also kakashi figured out that the ms that itachi uses makes your eyesight really bad, if you notice itachi always has his sharingan on, its only once where you dont see him with the sharingan its when itachi is finished using the ms on kakashi in book 16. so i guess the sharingan makes itachis eyesight like a normal eye.

I was thinking while reading the other posts, never posted before though, so bare with me. Say TOM really is Obito, that could explain how Kakashi was able to obtain the MS. Instead of Kakashi being the one to trigger the initial activation, Obito could of been the one to meet the requirements, and because Kakashi and Obito have the same eye “set”, Kakashi’s MS was formed from what Obito did. I don’t know if that theory was mentioned at all prior

i think pain might be the incarnation of yama (go to wikipedia if you want to know who that is), and therefore he would have access to all dead bodies, allowing him to animate anyone he wants. that doesnt explain how all the bodies are of someone that jiraiya has met before though… hmmm.
another thing i found, alot of the animals that pain summoned correlate to the “mounts” or the vahana of the hindu gods. maybe he is a “messiah” or something of that nature.

I think it’s clear that the MS is something that a few different people have developed… I think when Itachi fought Kakashi (maybe the first time?) he mentioned how Kakashi had made the sharingan his own err… something to that effect.
Kakashi started out with two tomoes and worked his way to three and it only makes sense that he could push it to the MS. The thing about killing your best friend… well… I’m sure Kakashi feels that way about obito because he feels he should have been there for him. BUT, I think it’s the pain equal to loosing your best friend that allows someone to use the MS. It’s kind of a theme kishimoto has going… with Pein and his name and the pain he has to go through to use the rinnengan.
About Yama, I don’t know if I’d believe what was on Wikipedia for that because someone may have just put it on because they were a big naruto fan. but it does sound interesting if it is true because I don’t think Kishi pulled Pein out of thin air…

the next manga have to go back to Sasuke and Itachi part and i wouldn’t be surprise to hear something more about Madara or Tobi plans for the both of them to hopefully clear up some missing parts to the reason why Sasuke was left alive.

Hey guys … do you think that the Uchiha eye could achieve more than 3 tomoes after the MS i know its hard to imagine because Madara didn’t have anymore tomoes as far as we know and he was the ultimate Uchiha of the sharingan… but yea i could imagine 4 tomoes… and also whenever Itachi uses his MS you dont actually see the MS form but i think u do for Kakashi … but anyway im just spitball’n ideas on the tomoes aspect.
maybe instead of 4 tomoes in each eye, the sharingan state above the ms could be an extra, or third eye, placed somewhere on the forehead. that would then add up to nine tomoes, equal to the tails of the kyuubi. there is some connection between kyuubi and the sharingan, what exactly could it be?
i mean, there a lot of anime and manga charaters that have a third eye, and as far as we’ve seen kishimoto often mimics other manga, and besides kidomaru in his 2nd state, we havent seen a character with a third eye or “mind’s eye” to my knowledge.

i think now that sasuke wields the kusanagi, he somehow is tied to the 8 tails
the story of orochimaru and sasuke is very similar to the story of how yamata no orochi awaits a genius of the Yagami clan. i think that Orochimaru himself is the bijuu, not the jinchuuriki. He only needs to be awakened to fight the kyuubi again. Since the kyuubi is in naruto and orochimaru is mostly in sasuke, the final battle is probably going to be between sasuke and naruto.

It makes sense that the eight tails is trying to destroy the kyuubi… And that Sasuke is there to awaken the eight tails to do battle against naruto and the kyuubi again…

I think it is not a coincedence that the Diedara looking Pein found Jiraiya, if you remember he is Pein’s body that is meant for “Seek and Destroy.” Not only can it summon from any realm but it can go into any realm like the barrier Jiraiya put himself in.
Two possible outcomes for next chapter:
1) Jiraiya is the new “Seek and Destroy” Pein [which would fit his actual life seeing how one of his specialties is being a spy and finding people/information].
or 2) And I am hoping for this, that Pa-dukes Toad took Jiraiya and peaced outa there the same way that Ma toad did. That would be cool, cause we could move to another story thats going on and Jiraiya would disappear for a while in the Toad-Country to heal up and then reveal the true identity of Pein.
I was just thinking, if Jiraiya is taken over by Pein then does that mean that Pa Toad will also be?? — An interesting battle down the road would be Pein (Jiraiya and Pa Toad body) against Naruto with Ma and lets say Bra Toad. Just a guess, take it or leave it.
Also I wonder how much Naruto has learned about this Toad place that Jiraiya went to to get the prophecy and it is also the place that all the Toad summons live.
It would be a cool move by Kishi to have Naruto go there and disappear for a bit… maybe that will be the second time skip. I’d like to see Naruto go there and us be there with him and he comes back and has to save the world with his old buddies after Akutsuki has made it into some sort of post apocolyptic place.
Hmm it does look like an eighth tomoe.. The tomoes are surrounding the word “fox” though, and they resemble the tails of a fox. So most likely, it’s reference to the Kyuubi and not the Orochi. Also.. I don’t think the tailed beasts need to be “awakened” as they are most likely inside the jinchiriki.

the black weapon that Jiraiya was stuck with is made out of the same material that all the peircings are made out of. That is how he can inhabit their bodies. Whatever material it is it messes up a person’s chakra to the point where it paralyzes them.
Also, if you look at the picture thats after Pa toad pulls it out of Jiraiya’s shoulder it shows that Pein still has the weapon in his hand.
Now the fact that we have never seen any sort of weapon like this we can conclude that it is something Pein either found/created/summoned and that if it is in your body you can’t control your chakra but you still produce it.
Not only will it then allow for Pein to do a technique kind of like what Itachi and Kisame do, and we kind of see in the fight between Orochimaru and Sarutobi when Orochimaru sacrafices two sound ninja so that he can control the first two hokages.
Another thing it shows us is that it is a material thing and in turn a new element. the 6th element.

Or it could be the same kind of black chakara that the kyuubi used, only solid like what Sasuke does with the Chidori. It would introduce the sixth element, too.

I dont think j sama will die at this battle, there are so many way i thought he can escape to such various attacks. one maybe is the clone jutsu, another will be replacement jutsu. it can be that j sama knows how to control a puppet of himself, where he designed it as if you cant identify the true j sama

My theory regarding this, is that j sama will not die yet, here he will discover the true identity of pein, by his most powerful jutsu just like the 3rd and fourth, j sama emerge to survive and escape pein, but maybe this will be kept for a while and at the final battle, j sama will show up and tell everything to naruto all he knew about pein and the akatsuki organization. Also, j sama will be the one to inspire naruto to find discover his true power
