Naruto Shippuuden Episode 28: The Resurrected Beasts
[poll=15]

Most of this episode is spent on the fight between Team Gai and each member’s respective clones. But was it really necessary to spend an entire episode on this battle? Since this battle is not shown in the manga, the anime material is therefore completely filler material and it shows. I think about 5% of episode 28 consists of actual fighting, while the other 95% is made up of dialogue (with excruciatingly long pauses) and slow panning. And the action isn’t that good either, if you compare it to fights from the original Naruto series, I’m sure you’ll agree it’s inferior. Ironically, the scenes with Gai’s battle are similar to what actual martial arts sparring sessions would look like. But hey, this is anime! So keep the action fast and furious please!
This episode stunk. Grade: D
Other points:
- Was it really necessary for Neji to explain to everyone else that they would get tired as the fight drags on?
- How come Tenten is completely dry after just jumping out from the river?
- Instead of pushing themselves to the limit defeating their respective clones, it would have been smarter for Team Gai to try to meet up with each other and exchange opponents.
Reminder: NO Naruto Shippuuden episode next week, there will be an One-Hour Special the week after.

On another note, chapter 370 of the manga is just gushing with spoilers. But I’ll make a separate post tomorrow since i need sleep
Fillers are just…fillers. Well, at least we can look forward to one whole hour of Naruto next next week. Isn’t that going to conclude this arc and then we’ll have a new opening? And Sai is coming soon! POST 370!!!!!! Soon, please.
