It’s been weeks since the mission in Wave Country. Naruto and his teammates are once again back to doing low level missions. After finishing their tedious assignments for the day, Kakashi dismisses everyone. Konohamaru and his gang meet Naruto. Konohamaru mistakes Sakura for Naruto’s girlfriend causing her to go switch to “Inner Sakura” mode. As they run away, Konohamaru accidentally bumps into a ninja from the Hidden Village in the Sand. The Sand shinobi is prepared to punch Konohamaru when he is stopped by Sasuke. A fight is about to break out when another Sand ninja shows up; his own teammates seem to fear him. Sasuke immediatelt recognizes the newcomer as a powerful opponent.

In the Hokage’s chambers, the Fourth Hokage announces to the Jonins present that the Chunin Exam will be held in Konoha within one week.
