469 - Sakura's Confession
Killerbee is ready to fight Kisame when suddenly Ponta, the
giant racoon dog, makes a charge at the new enemy. Kisame
grins and reaches for his sword.
Meanwhile, Ao is still in pursuit of Danzo, but
the bodyguards are well aware of his presence. Danzo tells
Fuu to take care of their pursuer and take back the Byakugan in Ao’s
eye no matter what. Fuu leaves behind a small doll with a
strange tag
attached to its head. The doll comes to life and attacks Ao
as soon as he passes by. Ao attacks back and strikes the
doll, but then everything goes dark. Ao awakens to realize
that that he has switched places with the doll. Fuu in now in
control of Ao’s body and reveals that he has used a curse
version of
the mind-transfer jutsu - it was activated when Ao attacked the doll.
Back in the meeting hall, the kages are in the
process of choosing a new leader for their new alliance.
Mifune nominates the Raikage because since they know Killerbee is no
longer in Akatsuki’s hands, the Raikage is better able to keep his
 emotions
in control. Mifune trusts the Raikage’s judgment as
demonstrated by the initiative he took during the attack on the
meeting. Gaara and the Mizukage both give their
support. The Tsuchikage, whose name is Onoki of Both Scales,
is reluctant but agrees to cooperate with the others.
At the inn, Sakura wastes no time and immediately
tells Naruto that she loves him in front of everyone present.
Sakura says that she no longer cares about Sasuke anymore and has come
to her senses over who she should be devoting her feelings
over. Naruto is surprised at first, but when Sakura mentions
that he no longer needs to fulfill his promise of bringing Sasuke back,
he suspects something is not right. Sakura becomes even bolder and hugs
Naruto while telling him how much she admires how heroic he’s become
and how thankful she is to him for supporting her all the
time. But Naruto does not buy it and tells Sakura to stop
joking around because he hates people who lie to themselves.
