CHAPTER
468 - Hachibi and Kyuubi
Madara has declared the Fourth Ninja War on the kages, but
says little more before disappearing again. The kages all take Madara’s
threat seriously and agree to form a shinobi alliance against the new
threat. Even the ill-tempered Raikage agrees since he now knows his
brother is safe. As Danzo had fled the scene, the kages
debate over Konoha’s role in all this. Although they would like
Konoha’s
support in the alliance, none of them trust Danzo.
Gaara agrees to deliver the news of what happened at the meeting
himself to Kakashi Hatake and everyone agrees he is trustworthy enough.
The talk then turns to the handling of
the war
Madara plans on waging. The Tsuchikage suggests that in order
to counter the power of the Bijuu already taken b Madara, they should
use the two remaining Jinchuuriki as weapons to fight them.
However, Gaara and Raikage disagree because they believe the war may be
a tactic by Madara to draw Naruto and Killerbee out; they also point
out that both shinobi are also very unpredictable on the battlefield.
The Raikage asks that they first attempt to find
Killerbee’s location and secure Naruto’s whereabouts. Before the
meeting is
adjourned, Chojiro brings up Kisame Hoshisaki’s name. He
warns the kages that he is the most powerful of the Seven Swordsmen of
the Mist and probably possesses enough chakra to rival that of a
Jinchuuriki. In short, Kisame is not to be underestimated.
Meanwhile, in the hall where Sasuke fought the
Raikage, Jugo and Suigetsu have recovered and formulate a plan to
escape undetected. Back at the inn, Naruto has decided to train more to
extend his sage mode to prepare himself for his search for
Sasuke. But his concentration is broken up by the surprise
arrival of Sakura, Sai, Rock Lee and Kiba. Sakura tells Naruto that
they need to speak.
In an undisclosed location in the forest,
Killerbee is receiving lessons on Japanese enka singing from a short
shinobi named Sabu-chan who is accompanied by a gigantic
bear. Killerbee is lectured for not singing from the heart
and with passion in his song. His lesson is interrupted when Kisame
arrives on the scene, having tracked him down using his Samehada’s
hunger for powerful chakra.
