417 - The Raikage Moves
Naruto continues his Senjutsu training without the aid of
the special toad oil, but he lacks concentration. Fukasaku
whacks
him over the head when he starts changing into a toad and scolds
him for not staying absolutely still like he told him to.
Naruto asks why he can’t just take some of the oil with him
so that he can use it to draw in nature energy in a fight.
Fukasaku assures him that it would be impossible because the oil would
immediately evaporate anywhere outside the special climate of Mount
Myouboku.
Fukasaku takes Naruto to another section of the
mountain which is dotted with clusters of stalagmites.
Fukasaku grabs two stone plates from the base of a formation and tells
Naruto to follow him up to the peak of the stalagmites. He
places the plates on the top of two peaks and tells Naruto to achieve
motionless harmony with nature by balancing himself on that single
point. Naruto quickly loses balance, but he is caught by
Fukasaku with his tongue before he could fall. Fukasaku tells
Naruto that he must master the ability to remain perfectly motionless
if he is to master nature’s energy.
In a secret hideout below the ruined remains of a
building, Sasuke and his team recuperate from their injuries.
They have healed most of their wounds, except Suigetsu who must remain
in a sealed tank for a bit more. Suigetsu is upset that they
left his beheader sword behind, but Karin tells him he’s
lucky they brought him back alive. Jugo tells them to stop
quarrelling because they all did what they did to save each other and
that they should act more like team-mates now.
Suigetsu asks Sasuke if they will be receiving
the power of the Bijuus now as part of their deal with
Akatsuki. Sauske isn’t so sure they need to rely on
that power anymore because he believes his new Mangekyou
Sharingan
abilities are enough to destroy Konoha. He goes to pick up
his drink, but his vision suddenly blurs and Sasuke ends up knocking
over his glass. Sasuke is stunned by this, but hides the fact
from his team-mates.
Karin suddenly senses a chakra source from
outside and alerts everyone. One of the Cloud ninja has
followed them to the hideout and readies a lizard to carry a message
back to the village. However as the lizard hops away, it is
immediately killed by Sasuke and the Cloud ninja finds himself
surrounded.
In a dark cavern, the tailed beast extraction
statue has been summoned and Kisame, Zetsu greet Madara as he arrives
with the body of the Eight-Tails
Jinchuuriki. Madara comments
that all they need is Pein to arrive with his prey.
Inside the Raikage’s office
at
Kumogakure, news has arrived from one of the shinobis tracking Sasuke
that they are closing in on the enemy’s location.
The Raikage still cannot believe that his brother, Killerbee, was
defeated and that it was an Uchiha who was working for
Akatsuki. His assistant informs him that the individual,
Sasuke Uchiha, has been a
missing-nin for some time now. The
Raikage blames the Hokage of Konoha for not taking care of her own
missing nin, especially after all the trouble they went to in the
Hyuuga incident (he’s likely referring to the incident
involving Gashira

Sometime later, the Raikage receives word that
they have lost their means to pinpoint the enemy’s location
because the shinobi tracking them was either killed or
captured. The Raikage is enraged and immediately orders that
more men be sent out to comb the land using the information that they
have. He then orders Samui’s platoon to be called
in. He also orders a message be sent to Konoha demanding
information on Sauske Uchiha so that they can take care of him once for
all. And furthermore, he wants a summit of the five kages.
The members of the Raikage’s special
squad gather after receiving their orders. They are: Samui, a
light-haired kunoichi; Omoi, a dark-skinned shinobi; and Kurai, a
dark-skinned kunoichi. Omoi is unnecessarily worried about
the Raikage’s orders, but Kurai tells him he is always over
thinking things. Samui tells them their bickering
wears her
out because she always has stiff shoulders. Omoi comments its
her large breasts that are to blame, but Kurai tells him to shut up
about that stuff. Omoi replies that she doesn’t
understand because her own chest is so flat. Kurai answers
him by kicking him in the head.
