CHAPTER 410 - The Battle at Thunder Cloud Gorge
Sasuke instructs his team to take down the Eight-Tails Jinchuuriki.  He orders Suigetsu to flank right, Juugo to take the left and Karin to stay behind him.  The Jinchuuriki is very cocky and tells them to get ready to get owned in battle.

Suigetsu charges first and swings down his sword violently, causing a large explosion upon impact.  Sasuke was charging in from the other side, but stops suddenly.  Jugo comments that they were instructed not to kill the Jinchuuriki.  Karin replies that he needn’t worry because she can still sense the Jinchuuriki’s chakra just fine.  The smoke clears and it’s clear that Suigetsu’s attack was completely ineffective.  The Jinchuuriki has stopped the blade with his bare hands and even taunts Suigetsu.  In just a flick of his hands, he flips the sword out of Suigetsu’s hands.  Jugo steps up and tells Suigetsu to let him handle it.

Naruto is shocked by what Gamakichi said about him needing to die in order to become one with nature.  Fukasaku tells Gamakichi to keep his mouth shut and stop confusing Naruto.  He tells Naruto that he doesn’t need to die; all he needs to learn is to sense nature’s energy in order to draw it into his body.  Once he can accomplish that, it will be easy to control its flow and perform Senjutsu.

For his first training session, Fukasaku commands Naruto to not move a muscle.  Naruto is confused.  Fukasaku explains that the first step in learning how to control nature’s energy is to stop disrupting its flow around the body.  Naruto thinks that’s pretty easy, but Fukasaku tells him that staying absolutely still is the hardest thing for living creatures to do, and that it will take a while to master.  Naruto reminds the old toad that they don’t have a lot of time to train.  Fukasaku agrees and points behind him to the waterfall.  He explains that what’s pouring out is actually the secret toad oil of Myouboku Mountain.  He bids Naruto to come over and rubs a little of it on his hand.  Fukasaku explains that the oil is special and will act like a magnet for nature’s energy; it will help Naruto get used to the feeling of absorbing energy from nature… but there’s a risk.

Naruto suddenly realizes his hand is turning into that of a frog’s.  He looks at his reflection in the oil and sees that his face is being transformed as well. Fukasaku tells Naruto that if he doesn’t learn how to properly control nature’s power, he will start turning into a frog.  Naruto is too busy freaking out to listen, so Fukasaku summons a black club and smacks him in the head.  Naruto shouts in pain but realizes he has changed back to normal.

Fukasaku tells Naruto that the key in using Senjutsu is balance, that is, balancing nature’s power with the body’s spiritual energy and physical stamina.  If there’s not enough nature energy, then Naruto can’t use Senjutsu at all.  But if Naruto absorbs too much nature energy, then he runs the risk of turning into a frog.  Fukasaku tells Naruto that he can turn Naruto back to normal by knocking the nature energy out of him with his special club, however Naruto will be stuck permanently as a frog if he goes too far.

Gamakichi tells Naruto that what he meant earlier by “die” was that if Naruto tried to do this training by himself, he would be a goner.  Fukasaku agrees and points to the dozens of stone frog statues behind him.  Each of them is a person who failed the training and really became one with nature.  But Fukasaku tells Naruto to relax because he’ll be sticking by him the whole way.  He also tells Naruto that even Jiraiya couldn’t master this training completely because he would change into a frog slightly whenever he performed Senjutsu.  Fukasaku sees Naruto isn’t intimidated by the risks, but asks him one more time if he wants to continue.  Naruto responds that his way of the ninja is the same as Jiraiya’s way.

Back at Lightning Gorge, the Eight-Tails Jinchuuriki has effortlessly defeated Jugo.  And on top of that, he did it with Suigetsu’s beheader sword.  The Jinchuuriki taunts them again with a little rap, leaving Karin and Suigetsu speechless.  Sasuke tells them that he will handle this and gets ready to enter the fight.
