MenuCHAPTER 396 - Introduction 
Everyone is shocked by the sight of Sharingan in
Tobi’s one exposed eye. But before anyone can do
anything, Tobi’s waves goodbye and disappears right before
everyone as if he was just sucked into a different
dimensions. Zetus follows suit and also disappears back into
the tree he appeared from.Kakashi immediately tells 
everyone that they must
get to Sasuke before Tobi does. He leaps to the tallest tree
and scans the surroundings. Kakashi spots dark clouds in the
distance and asks Hinata to use her Byakugan to see what is happening
in that direction. Hinata reports that there is very strong
chakra from that area and that the forest is burning with black
flames. Kakashi knows it must the Amaterasu and tells
everyone to head out. 
At the sight of Sasuke and Itachi’s
battle, Tobi appears and stares down at the two brothers laying side by
side while the rain continues to drizzle down. Zetsu arrives
moments later and Tobi comments that he is too slow. Zetsu
refutes that not everyone can travel at the speed of light.
Tobi is glad to hear that Zetsu recorded the entire battle and plans on
watching it later. But for now, he tells Zetsu that they must
take Itachi’s corpse and leave immediately. 
The Konoha shinobi rush at top speed with Kakashi
leading the way. Kiba alerts everyone that he’s
picked up Sasuke’s scent but that Akatsuki has already gotten
to him first. Everyone if forced to stop when they come to
the swathe of black flames which is slowly consuming the entire
forest. Kakashi comments that it is the first time he has
seen this technique. He calls on Yamato who
uses a jutsu
called Winding Fissure to break and lift the earth open beneath the
burning forest to create a clear path for everyone to pass
through. Yamato stay behind to maintain the opening, Kakashi
orders everyone to follow him and activates his Mangekyou
Sharingan. Moments later, everyone arrives at the spot but
neither Sauske nor Itachi remains. Naruto’s face
reflects his anger at having lost Sasuke once again.
Inside a dark cavern, Sasuke regains
conscious. The room is lit only by a single candle.
A voice from the shadows tells him he has given him first
aid. It tells Sasuke that he has won even though it was a
very close battle, and that he is still very badly wounded and should
be less reckless with his life. Tobi steps out into the light
and tells Sasuke not to be alarmed because they are no longer
foes. Tobi tells Sasuke he has brought him here to tell him
something important. Tobi gets Sasuke’s attention
when he states that he has information about Itachi. He
remarks that there is much that Sasuke does not know about his brother.
