MenuCHAPTER 395 - The Mystery That is Tobi 
Shino commands his swarm of bugs to fly and attack Tobi in
two streams. Naruto is annoyed that Tobi manages to dodge the
attack easily, but Kakashi points out that the Aburames don’t
excel in
single-point focussed attacks but rather attacks that cover an
entire area around the opponent. Kiba tells Naruto to just
watch and let Shino do what he does best.Shino’s next command is to order the bugs to spread into a loose sphere all around Tobi. Kakashi notes that it is impossible for anyone to avoid all those bugs. Shino is intent on finding out the secret of Tobi’s jutsu and uses the command “swarm” to activate a secret technique called Insect Globe. His insects close in around Tobi and begin to smother him. Shino states that he will finish the  enemy
off because he must make up for
not being included in the last mission (during the Sasuke Retrieval
arc).In moments, Tobi is completely covered by Shino’s bugs. Hinata uses her Byakugan and confirms that Tobi’s chakra is still trapped inside the swarm. It’s now Yamato’s turn, and he sends four wooden tendrils 
upward towards Tobi’s location to
ensnare him. Shino indicates that he knows Tobi is still
trapped because his bugs are still absorbing his chakra.
However, right before Yamato’s wooden tendrils arrive,
something happens and the bugs disperse, but Tobi is nowhere in
sight. Shino is bewildered because his bugs lost all traces
of Tobi in a mere instant - this has never happened before.
Sakura suggests that  maybe
it was a teleportation jutsu, but Shino
replies that that can’t be the case because teleportation is
merely high-speed movement and his bugs would have sensed which
direction Tobi moved in and continued their pursuit.
Hinata is also at a loss, even with her Byakugan
locked on to Tobi the whole time, somehow he still managed to vanish
without a trace. Kakashi believes that a space/time ninjutsu
is the only explanation, but cannot explain how Tobi managed it without
visible seals or summoning tattoos. If Tobi could actually
activate his time/pace jutsu at will, then it may be even more advanced
than the Fourth’s ability. Sakura
concludes that if Tobi can indeed make himself disappear at
will, then he can probably do so with individual body parts -
this explains how Naruto  and
Kiba’s attacks just slipped
through him.Using her Byakugan to scan the area, Hinata locates Tobi 
again in
the trees above them. Tobi taunts
everyone, but Kiba had already found him through his scent and attacks
with a Fang Drill. But the attack is ineffective and Kiba
ends up drilling through the tree branch and falling back to the
ground. He complains that his attack just went through Tobi
again, but Hinata tells him that Tobi just side-stepped out of the way
this time.
