MenuCHAPTER 376 - The Destined Child  The new Jiraiya emerges,
having transformed into Hermit Mode. He has summoned two
small toads, Pa and Ma, who each perch on one of his
shoulders. Pa tells Jiraiya that he really needs to learn how
to transform on his own. Jiraiya replies to the toad that he
is only a tadpole compared to he and Ma. Pein watches from
hiding and makes the observation that each of the Legendary Three
appears to have their own special skills.Jiraiya emerges from the hole in the wall and lands with a thundering clash. His appearance hasn’t changed all that much except that he has grown a heard, has toad eyes and a wart-ridden nose. Pa toads asks where the supposed Six Ways’ eyes is because he  doesn’t see
anybody. Ma toad scolds him for being so old that his eyes
are starting to fail. Jiraiya informs the toads that their
opponent is hiding inside a summon that can blend with its
surroundings, essentially turning itself invisible. Jiraiya
adds that he has already put up a barrier, but Ma toad says that it
won’t get them anywhere. She performs a hand seal
and says that, if it's a living creature, she’ll find it in
no time.
Pa toad asks why he wants to fight a guy this
tough in the first place. Jiraiya’s answer that the opponent
is a former student of his surprises both Pa and Ma toad. The
toads didn’t even know Jiraiya had any other
 students in his
past. Ma toad asks if this Pein is indeed the
“Destined Child” that was foretold.
Jiraiya believes so, but unfortunately his student
didn’t turn out the way he hoped he would. Pa says
that they must kill him if that is the case, but Ma calls the prophecy
the senile ramblings of an old fart. But whatever the case, a
dangerous enemy is in front of them and they must fight him.Ma completes her jutsu preparation and projects a tongue from her mouth with a reptilian head at the tip. She immediately finds Pein and the chameleon and shoots out her tongue at them. Pein attempts to get his chameleon to jump away, but Ma’s attack is too fast. She catches the creature in the air and  then expels acid from the buds on her
tongue.
While the chameleon is writhing in agony she slams it back to the
ground. She then calls on Pa who immediately shoots out a
powerful jet of water that cuts through the concrete wall on the other
side. Large slabs of debris fall down and crushes the
chameleon to death, at which point it is unsummoned and
disappears. Pein emerges from the clouds of dust and
smoke. The toads comment that his eyes are definitely the
legendary Rinnegan and that Pein must be the Destined Child.A flashback occurs as Jiraiya remembers his tutelage at Myouboku Mountain, the home of the Toad Sage. A young (and smaller) Gamabunta tells Jiraiya to move his ass because the great Toad Sage is calling for him. Jiraiya,  who appears to
be about Naruto’s age at the time, is excited and hurries to
see the Sage. Inside a large chamber sits the Toad Sage with
Ma and Pa on smaller pedestals beneath him. The Toad Sage
greets Jiraiya but seems to be a bit senile as he
can’t
remember who Jiraiya is. Pa informs the Sage that it is
Jiraiya. Ma toad calls the Sage a senile out fart because he
had called Jiraiya himself. Pa gets mad and tells Ma to show
a little respect to the great Toad Sage. The Sage tells them
not to fight because husband and wife should be nice to each
other. He then turns back to Jiraiya and asks him who is
again. A bit later, after the
confusion is cleared up,
Pa informs Jiraiya that the great Sage has seen a vision concerning his
future and tells him to listen well. The Sage
begins by telling Jiraiya that he sees him growing into a pervert
without equal in the world and also a very talented shinobi, and adds
that someday he will take on a certain pupil. Jiraiya
doesn’t say anything but wonders why the Sage had to be so
specific regarding the pervert part. The Sage continues and
says that the pupil will bring about a great revolution in
the shinobi world. But it will result in either peace to the
world or its utter destruction. Jiraiya asks for
clarification, but the Sage only tells him that as the
pupil’s master, he will be faced with a difficult choice in
the future; the choice Jiraiya makes will determine the fate of the
world. Jiraiya is taken aback by the Sage’s
prediction. He asks what the right choice is but the Sage
tells him that all he knows is that Jiraiya will travel the world and
write a book. The Sage can’t be more clear other
than that  Jiraiya will be observing all creations and
watching nature
take its course. Jiraiya asks the Sage whether his visions have ever
been wrong before. The Sage replies no and states that the
vision he had about a young child coming to Myouboku Mountain and
obtaining the power of the toads has already come true.
Back to the present battle, Jiraiya waits for Pein to make his move. He wonders to himself whether the time has come for him to make the difficult decision as the Toad Sage had predicted. Jiraiya makes a hand seal and performs another summoning technique. But this time he has summoned two humans, both dressed in Akatsuki garbs. Jiraiya has made up his mind.
