MenuCHAPTER 371 - Old Friends 
Tobi sits upon the statue of Madara Uchiha at the Valley of
the
End. He notes that things are moving according to
plan. He
is especially interested in Sasuke’s development, and ponders
whether Sasuke will remain to crawl like a snake on ground or soar to
the sky like a hawk.In the meantime, Team Hebi is leaping through the treetops with Sasuke leading the way. Karin alerts everyone that there are a lot of people with identical chakra signatures all around them. Suigetsu asks whether they need to take a detour but Sasuke tells him to ignore it and charge through. Suddenly, there’s a  movement
up ahead and Naruto lands on a branch right ahead of them.
Upon
seeing Sasuke, Naruto yells out his name. But Sasuke already
has
Chidori activated in his hand and plunges it into Naruto as he charges
forward. Naruto disappears in a puff of smoke - it was a
Shadow
Clone. Sasuke comments to himself that Naruto never gives up. The experience learned by Naruto’s clone returns to the real Naruto upon its destruction. The real Naruto, still traveling with the other Leaf ninja, alerts everyone that he knows where  Sasuke
is. Naruto tells everyone to follow him and rapidly changes
directions. He vows that Sasuke will not get away this time.In the Hidden Village in the Rain, Jiraiya’s frog emerges from the water. Similarly to his initial infiltration of the village, Jiraiya emerges from the frog’s mouth. This time he is disguised in the form of the Rain ninja he had interrogated. Jiraiya tells the frog to go to Ibiki and turn over his 
remaining prisoner for interrogation. After the frog leaves,
Jiraiya begins his next task. He comments that he really
hopes he
can fool the enemy and heads through the lower levels of the
city. Unbeknownst to him, Konan  had been tracking him using a paper butterfly and
was hiding nearby by blending her paper form into the walls.In a swarm of paper, Konan returns to Pein and informs him that the infiltrator is Jiraiya-sensei. Pein is now in a new body and sports a ring of bolt-like piercings on his face but retains the same eyes. He comments that Jiraiya’s name alone brings back old memories. Konan asks for instructions. Pein replies that he took out this new body to kill an intruder and that he cares little for 
Jiraiya-sensei anymore. Konan tells Pein that she will hold
Jiriaya off until he can arrive. Pein
replies to Konan
that she should kill Jiraiya if she gets the chance.Jiraiya, still in the disguise of the Rain ninja, walks into a new area when he encounters a swarm of paper before him. The swarm moves in fast and completely 
engulfs him. Each piece wraps tightly around his body to
restrict
his movement. Konan materializes next to him in position to
impale Jiraiya with a paper spear. However, from the shadow
of
his trapped body, the real Jiraiya appears and performs a Fireball
jutsu to disrupt Konan’s paper technique.
Konan reforms her body after the smoke clears. She
recognizes the shadow jutsu Jiraiya had been using as the
Toad-Silhouette Control technique. Jiraiya sucks in air as if
to
re-inflate himself and steps out from the shadow of the Rain
ninja. He tells his attacker that he had hoped to catch Pein
but
is surprised to find her instead. Jiraiya calls Konan by name
and
comments that not only has she greatly improved her jutsu, but has also
