MenuCHAPTER 361 - Weak Point
Deidara spits out another clay replica of
himself. This one is not nearly as big as Garuda but begins
to expand immediately and quickly envelops Sasuke. Deidara
tells Sasuke that it looks like he is the one out of chakra because he
can’t escape. He completes the bomb and then
propels himself away from it. Deidara
attempts to mould another clay bird to ride upon, but the wounds to his
arms make it impossible.Inside the bomb, Sasuke uses his Sharingan to analyze his arm and is shocked to see that Deidara’s nano-bombs have already infiltrated his blood stream. With the last of his chakra,
he forms another Chidori to break out of
Deidara’s bomb. Using his wings, Sasuke flies
toward Deidara who is still falling through the air. Deidara
tells him it’s too late and detonates his bombs. However,
nothing happens and both combatants fall to the forest.
Deidara sees one of Sasuke’s summoned snakes crumble to
bits
as it falls to the ground. He believes he has won, but once
again he feels the cold gaze of the Sharingans staring into his back.Sasuke surprises Deidara from behind and lands a fierce punch to his face. Deidara is sent flying and rolls over several times before stopping. He is confused
because he
was sure that there was no genjutsu used this time. Sasuke
has reverted to his normal self, having nearly exhausted his
chakra. The trace of electricity still crawling over
Sasuke’s body tells Deidara that his opponent had discovered
the weakness in his clay bombs. Sasuke tells Deidara that he
had seen through the Earth element hand seal he always
makes when
detonating the clay bombs. And since Earth is weak against
Lightning, Sasuke came up with the idea to use his last Chidori on
himself in order to cancel out all the nano-bombs in his body. But it wasn’t
just a blind gamble on
Sasuke’s part. He discovered this weakness earlier
when he pierced Deidara’s clay bombs with his Chidori Needles
(Senbon Chidori). When Deidara detonated them, the ones hit
by Sasuke’s Chidori did not explode. But Sasuke
still wasn’t sure whether it was his Chidori that was
cancelling them out or if it was Deidara controlling which ones
exploded. He confirmed this when he threw his Chidori charged
into Deidara’s mind field. The Sharingan colors
chakra, so Sasuke was fully aware of the positions of
Deidara’s mines from the very start. His sword
pierced one of the clay mines, and when it did not explode, Sasuke knew
he had found the weakness in Deidara’s jutsu.
