Sasuke is alert that someone is shadowing him. He
calls out for the person to how himself. A figure appears
from behind the trees.Sakura’s companion ninja dogs have tracked Sasuke’s scent into a town. Although the scent is still faint, the ninja dog confirms that they are getting really close to the source. At that moment, Karin passes walks by Sakura, but neither responds as they are unaware of each other’s identities. The ninja dog tells Sakura the scent is moving away, but in the crowded streets they have no way of pinpointing their target.  
Naruto, Hinata and Yamato, accompanied by their
ninja dog, continue walking down a road. They are well
aware that someone is tailing them. Yamato quietly tells Naruto
and Hinata to get ready, and then throws a volley of shurikens back at
their stalker, forcing him to leap out of hiding. Naruto and
Hinata turn to confront their enemy and recognize that it is Kabuto
Yakushi. Yamato tells Kabuto that he has some nerve to
approach them openly like this when  he is a wanted criminal in
Konoha. Kabuto replies that he has some business with
Naruto. Naruto asks him if it is true that Sasuke killed
Orochimaru.  Kabuto scoffs at Naruto for always going on about
Sasuke, but he does confirm that the rumors are indeed true.
More importantly, Kabuto tells Naruto that he has a little present for
him.At Sasuke’s location, the figure to appear from the tree line is Tobi. He comments that Sasuke looks a lot like Itachi. Sasuke reacts with a hateful glare, causing Tobi to scurry back into the trees and  calling
Sasuke scary. However, it was all a distraction for at that
moment Deidara was zeroing in on Sasuke from above. He
launches both of his giant clay birds at Sasuke, then leaps to safety
before triggering them to explode in a massive fireball. Kabuto brings out a small black book and tells Naruto that it is all the information on Akatsuki that Orochimaru’s organization has gathered. Everyone is surprised when Kabuto says he intends to give it to Naruto. Yamato questions Kabuto’s motives since he is not one of Akatsuki’s targets, so helping  Konoha would not
benefit him in anyway. Kabuto says that the book is merely a
token of thanks to Naruto.
The smoke from the explosion clears, revealing
that Sasuke had shielded himself by summoning a large snake around
him. Deidara says that he can’t believe Orochimaru
was done in by a young brat like Sasuke. Sasuke stares back
with his Sharingans, but Deidara only becomes more excited and says he
likes the hatred in those eyes. Tobi grumbles that he will
need to apologize to Itachi after this.
Kabuto never knew his parents or which country he
was from. He has been a spy since he was very
young. He has moved through various countries and villages,
but never identified with any of them. These things held no
meaning to him until he met Orochimaru. But after
Orochimaru’s death, Kabuto was again in a state of not having
an identity. He relates this feeling to the same one Naruto
must feel by being the host to the Kyuubi and not knowing who he really
is. Kabuto admires Naruto because despite being ostracized by
many of the villagers, Naruto believed in his own  power and determined
not to let himself be defined by the Kyuubi.Kabuto admits that he never tried to surpass Orochimaru and simply lived in his shadow. But now, Naruto has become his inspiration to change himself. Kabuto removes his hood and glasses, revealing that the left side of his face has been transformed to resemble Orochimaru’s visage. Kabuto wants to become more like Naruto, so he integrated parts of Orochimaru into his own body in an attempt to replicate the way in which Kyuubi inhabits Naruto’s body. By doing so, he hopes to redefine himself and become someone who is stronger than Orochimaru. In Kabuto’s twisted mind, Orochimaru will be a symbol of rebirth; a goal for him to aim for and something that will always be a part of him.
