MenuCHAPTER 340 - A Dangerous Bridge 
With his new Spiral Shuriken (Rasen Shuriken) fully charged,
Naruto sends his three Shadow Clones charging at Kakuzu. Ino
and
Choji want to jump in and help too, but Yamato warns them to stay back
because they might get hit as well if they get too close to Naruto.Kakuzu can feel the monstrous power of Naruto’s new jutsu and knows he must avoid getting hit or it would be the end of him. Naruto’s clones attack him simultaneously from three directions. Kakuzu quickly dispatches the clone attacking from  above.
The remaining clones close in on him from opposite side, but Kakuzu
uses the masks on his shoulders to fire Wind and Fire element attacks
to destroy them. However, before he can recover, Naruto is
already closing in quickly with his Spiral Shuriken. Kakuzu has no time to defend and recoils as Naruto hits him with the new jutsu. However, before the Spiral Shuriken can make contact with Kakuzu, it suddenly loses power and dissipates. Everyone is motionless because no one knows what has happened. Yamato realizes that it was a miss. Kakashi comments that it’s just like the unpredictable ninja to do something like this and rushes out with Yamato to aid Naruto. 
Realizing Naruto’s mistake, Kakuzu traps him in
his
tendrils and prepares to take his heart. But Kakuzu is
stopped
when Yamato transforms his arm into wood and launches it at
him.
Kakashi takes advantage of the distraction to use Raikiri to cut
through the tendrils and bring Naruto to
safety. Yamato increases his attack by creating more wooden
tentacles that swarm towards Kakuzu, but his target dodges the attack
and jumps to the side.Naruto is angry at himself at messing up. Ino comments that it’s a disappointing performance in light of how cool Naruto had acted in the  beginning.
Choji asks Naruto why with a name like Spiral Shuriken, he has to run
in to hit them with it rather than throwing it. Naruto
retorts
that his jutsu is awesome if he can hit them. Yamato explains
that the downside of the
Spiral Shuriken is that it has to be a direct hit from zero
distance. That is why Naruto must use his clones as
feints.
Also, since Naruto just completed the jutsu, its time limit is only a
few seconds. On the other side of the field, Kakuzu has
realized
the weakness of Naruto’s jutsu as well, and believes he will
be
fine as long as he keeps his distance.
Naruto gets back to his feet. He asks everyone to
give him
one more chance. Ino and Choji advise against it.
The
opponent is Akatsuki, and since he has already seen Naruto’s
feint, there is no way the same attack will work on him
again.
They suggest that everyone attack together. Kakashi
agrees; there’s no need to take anymore risks when they
outnumber
Kakuzu five to one. Naruto turns to Kakashi and reminds him
of
what he had said during their training. Kakashi had told
Naruto
that he believes the only shinobi who can surpass the Fourth Hokage is
him. Naruto admits that he knows teamwork is important, but
right
now he believes he needs to cross this dangerous bridge by
himself. It’s to prove he has grown as a shinobi
and it is
also a step towards Sasuke. After confirming with Yamato,
Kakashi
allows Naruto to proceed.
