MenuCHAPTER 329 - That Goal
It is raining heavily, but for Naruto and his clones, the
training must continue. One of the clones forms the Rasengan,
but
loses control of himself and begins a very rapid demon fox
transformation. Within seconds, he has already gone into the
two-tail stage. The other clones shout for help at Yamato,
who
immediately activatse the wooden totems again. The totems lunge
towards the transforming Naruto and clamp down on his entire body until
the Kyuubi chakra dissipates.Naruto is forced to stop the training and release all his clones. Kakashi lands by Naruto to check on him. He informs Naruto that they’ve already spent an entire day on training to add Wind chakra manipulation to the Rasengan. With about 200 clones working simultaneously, Naruto has spent an equivalent of 4800 hours training.
But even now, Naruto admits he hasn’t made much progress at
all. Naruto tells Kakashi that creating the Rasengan already
takes an incredible
amount of concentration, and to add Wind chakra manipulation on top of
that seems impossible. Kakashi encourage Naruto to persevere
because it’s not like the Naruto he knows to give up so
easily. But Naruto argues that it really feels impossible
this
time because what the training is asking him to do is analogous to
looking left and then told to look right at the same time.
After
hearing Naruto’s problem, Kakashi
comes up with a clever idea. He creates a Shadow Clone of himself and
looks one way while his clone looks in the opposite
direction.
Even though it’s a simple idea, it is exactly the inspiration
Naruto needs to proceed further into developing his new jutsu. In a remote location in the forest, Hidan and Kakuzu are concentrating quietly. The sealing of the Two-Tails demon beast which Deidara and Tobi had captured has begun. The Akatsuki leader informs all the
members that after the first extraction is finished, they will proceed
to extract the Three-Tails from the female Jinchuuriki (Yugito Nii) who
Hidan and Kakuzu had captured; in total it will take about six
days. Hidan complains about
the time requirement and says he could have massacred the
“godless” shinobi from Konoha if he
didn’t have to do
this. The leader corrects Hidan by stating that Konoha views
the
previous generation as god and that they practice the “will
of
fire.” In the end though, it can be summed up as
just
another justification to fight. Wars will never cease because
whether its religion, beliefs, wealth, land, or any other motivation,
there is always a reason to go to war. Hidan thinks his religion is
being ridiculed and says he has his own goals and has no intention of
giving everything to the Akatsuki. He complains that the goal
of
Akatsuki has become only to gather money. Just like Kakuzu,
it is
the type of reason to fight that Hidan hates the most. The
leader
admits that the immediate needs of the organization are indeed money,
but the real goal of Akatsuki lies elsewhere.
Because Hidan is one of the newer members, the leader
reveals to
him the three stages of their grand plan for the first time.
Gathering money is only the first stage, the second stage is using that
money to create the largest mercenary force of shinobi in the
world. For the shinobi villages, the payment for
taking on
missions and entering battles is the major source of income for their
economy. However, to continue to make a profit, there always
needs to be some conflict between countries. But the Great
Ninja
wars have passed and
during these times of peace, it is getting harder and harder to keep a
shinobi village afloat in terms of finances. The largest five
shinobi villages, including Konoha, are okay because they are well
established and trusted by other countries for their work.
However, the smaller villages are suffering and are forced to trim back
their maintenance and training in order to cope. This is
where
Akatsuki will strike first. The new Akatsuki mercenary group
will
be loyal to no country, but will accept any mission for little money
and will supply as many shinobi as needed. They will force
countries to hire them, using the Tailed Beasts to start wars if
necessary. Eventually, even the large shinobi villages will
be
forced to collapse and Akatsuki will have a monopoly because they can
control the wars. And when all the countries will have no
choice
but to rely on Akatsuki, they will move on to the third stage of the
plan: conquer the world.
