MenuCHAPTER 317 - The Nightmare Begins 
At an undisclosed location above a body of water, Tobi and
Deidara stand face to face with the Three-Tail beast demon which
resembles a deformed turtle. Tobi wants Deidara to handle it
since the Three-Tails looks tough, but Deidara tells him it’s
his
job since Tobi is now a full member of
Akatuski. Straight off, Tobi is fleeing from the Three-Tail
while
screaming in terror. He complains that since it’s a
water-type, Kisame should have been the one assigned to capture
it. Tired of seeing Tobi’s pathetic display,
Deidara
decides to lend a hand. He drops a small clay fish into the
water
and it swims at an amazing speed to catch up with Tobi and the
Three-Tail that’s chasing him. Deidara then
triggers the
fish to  explode,
the blast hits the beast but also sends Tobi flying up into the air
screaming.Naruto continues his training with a thousand Shadow Clones at the Konoha training grounds. A short distance away, Yamato sits in a ritualistic circle of nine totem poles and points his palm towards Naruto in order to 
control the Kyuubi chakra flow. Kakashi asks Yamato if
he’s
okay, but refers to him as Tenzou. Yamato responds that he is
fine but asks Kakashi to refer to him as Yamato for now. The
training is making good progress. One of the Naruto clones
manages to make a very deep cut into his leaf and brags to the other
Narutos. One of the Narutos asks Kakashi if there is anybody
else
in Konoha with Wind element chakra who can give him some  pointers. Kakashi replies that there is
someone but he should be playing Shogi around this time of day.The person Kakashi is referring to is Asuma, and at that time he just lost another game to Shikamaru. Shikamaru reminds his sensei that the penalty for losing is for him to pay the bill when they celebrate at Yakiniku 
restaurant next time. Just then Naruto comes running in and
asks
Asuma for tips on manipulating Wind type chakra. Asuma takes
advantage of Naruto; in exchange for tips, he asks Naruto to cover the
bill next time his team celebrates at Yakiniku. Since
it’s
for his training, Naruto reluctantly agrees.Asuma pulls out a pair of his special chakra knives;, they are made of special metal that absorbs the chakra nature of the holder. Asuma channels his chakra  into
the knife and a distinct shroud of chakra runs over the surface of the
knife. He hands one to Naruto and asks him to do the
same.
Naruto complies but the shroud surrounding his knife is much less
refined and
concentrated. Asuma tells Naruto that the best way to
manipulate
Wind chakra is to imagine splitting it in two and grinding them
together so that the two chakra fields sharpen each other into fine
pieces; the thinner the pieces, the sharper they become.
Naruto
then asks Asuma why Wind element chakra is useful when there are many
ninja weapons that can already cut and slice. Asuma
asks
Naruto to follow his lead and throw both of their knives into the tree
behind them. Both knives hit the tree trunk, but
while
Naruto’s  knife
stuck into the tree, Asuma’s knife went completely through
the
trunk and stabbed into the rock behind the tree. Naruto is
amazed
at how deep the knife went into the solid rock, but Asuma gloats that
if he’s serious he can make the knife cut through the entire
rock
as well. Asuma explains that if two ninja of equal skill
fought,
the one with the sharper weapon will usually win. That is why
the
Wind element is
considered the strongest when it comes to close and mid-ranged fights,
but it is also quite a rare chakra type. Asuma tells Naruto
to
come to him again if he has more questions as long as he is willing to
pay for Yakiniku again. Not realizing he is being ripped off,
Naruto happily agrees and then releases the Shadow Clone jutsu, causing
him to vanish. Asuma chuckles that Naruto probably forgot
that
Choji’s on their team, Shikamaru calls Asuma an evil man.
Immediately after the  latter
clone was released, the rest of the Naruto clones received the same
information he learned from Asuma. Right away, they start
applying Asuma’s tips to improve their training progress.In Tsuande’s office, the sole surviving monk from the Temple of Fire delivers his report to Tsunade. Because he was out on guard duty, the sole monk survived the slaughter and returned only when it was all over. Shizune thinks the two Akatsuki members are probably making a through search of Fire Country for places where a Jinchuuriki may be. Tsunade makes up her mind and orders the newly formed “Twenty Platoons” to be summoned. She will not let these Akatsuki members leave the country.
