MenuCHAPTER 309 - A Talk with the Kyuubi  Sasuke has invaded
Naruto’s thoughts
and stands along side him in front of the form of Kyuubi.
Kyuubi is impressed that Sasuke has advanced enough to be able to
actually see him. He calls the Sharingan an accursed power
from a forsaken ancestry. Hearing that this is not the first
time he has seen Sharingan eyes, Sasuke correctly surmises the creature
in front of him is Kyuubi. Kyuubi describes
Sasuke’s eyes as having power and chakra more sinister than
his own, and very similar to those of a certain person named Madara
Uchiha. Sasuke denies knowledge pf such a person and reacts
by  suddenly
pressing on the form of Kyuubi. Immediately, the
mound of foam which had formed Kyuubi’s head explodes and
dissolves back into the liquid. Kyuubi is once again
impressed
because he did not expect Sasuke to be able to suppress his
power. He tells Sasuke they may not meet again
but before departing he warns Sasuke not to kill Naruto because he will
end up regretting it. Outside of Naruto’s thoughts, Yamato notices that Sasuke is distracted. He uses the opening to form a hand seal and grow a small wooden block from where he was stabbed. The block thrusts upward, taking Sasuke’s blade out of his body in the process. The sudden force catches Sasuke  off-balance
and as he recoils backwards, Yamato quickly
summons a wooden barrier to envelope him. However, it is not
enough to stop Sasuke and he easily bursts through the top of the
barrier and lands again on the ledge overlooking the cavern.Naruto yells at Sasuke that he should know that Orochimaru could steal his body anytime now. Sasuke gazes silently at Naruto and responds that he is  willing to accept that fate
when it happens. He calls Naruto a kid for failing to
understand. To Sasuke, revenge is everything; as long as he
can kill Itachi Uchiha, he could care less about what happens to him or
anybody else. Sasuke  admits that neither he nor Orochimaru is
capable of killing Itachi in their current states. But if
offering his body for Orochimaru will accomplish this goal, then Sasuke
will willingly do so.Sasuke’s words shocks everyone and leaves them speechless. Yamato stands up and declares that it is  the end for talks. He did not want to
resort to his cruder
methods of fighting in front of Naruto and Sakura, but Sasuke has left
him with no choice; it is time to get serious.
Sasuke agrees
and tells them he is through dealing with Konoha. He forms a
tiger seal and raises his hand to activate a jutsu, but is suddenly
stopped by Orochimaru who appears from behind him. He tells
Sasuke there is no need to use “that” jutsu, but
Sasuke impudently tells Orochimaru to remove his hand. Kabuto
appears next to them (having  apparently defeated Yamato’s
clone) and reminds Sasuke to remember *who* he is speaking
to. He suggests to Sasuke that they let the Konoha ninja live
so they can take care of more of their common enemy,
Akatsuki. Sasuke calls that a pathetic excuse, but
reconsiders when Kabuto mentions that it would increase his chances of
killing Itachi if there were less Akatuski members to get in his way.Seeing that Sasuke has calmed down, Orochimaru releases his hand and orders him to move out. Sasuke gazes at Naruto one last time but does not say a word. Naruto watches helplessly as Sasuke, Kabuto and Orochimaru vanish in a whirl of smoke.
