MenuCHAPTER 304 - The Other Side of Betrayal 
Yamato tells the others they’ll be going once he
creates a
clone to watch over Sai. But before he can commence, a hail
of
kunai rains down from above, forcing them to leap away from
Sai’s
position. Kabuto jumps down beside Sai. Judging
from his
situation he surmises Sai was captured and did not betray Orochimaru,
so he breaks the wooden restraints binding
him. Naruto declares that he won’t hold back on
either of
them if they stand in his way. Naruto already has a pair of
clones forming a Rasengan on the cliff behind Kabuto. When
ready,
his clone leaps down ready to strike but Kabuto was well aware of the
sneak attack and knocks the clone away with one kick. Kabuto
tells Naruto that watching him makes him feel pity. People
change, Sasuke is no longer the person he used to know, yet Naruto
still continues to pursue him.
In a surprise move, Sai suddenly grabs Kabuto from behind,
restraining him. He tells Kabuto that people do indeed
change,
which is what he is doing right now. He also states that
there
are things that don’t change, such as bonds.
Moments later,
Kabuto has been captured and Yamato creates a clone to watch over
him. When
Naruto asks Sai what changed his mind, he replies he wants to find out
why it is that Naruto places so much value on the bonds between him and
Sasuke. Sai desires to understand more about the importance
of
his own bonds with his brother, and he hopes to figure something out by
watching Naruto and Sasuke.Kabuto laughs and tells everyone they don’t know what the real Sasuke is like. Surprisingly, he tells  them
where to search for Sasuke inside the lair. He should be in
his
own room around this time, but they should be careful when searching
since Orochimaru keeps his quarters in the same area. As
Yamato
suspected, the reason why Kabuto
is being cooperative is because he fully expects them to fail and turn
from hunters to prey for Orochimaru.Inside the lair, Yamato splits the team into two; himself and Sakura in one team, and Naruto and Sai on the other. If something happens, he tells everyone to focus their chakra, the wooden seeds inside them  will
react and allow Yamato to find them in a moment’s
notice. A
short time later, Naruto and Sai have already finished searching one
floor of the lair but found nothing. Naruto tries to push
himself
to move faster but his body is still suffering from the damage from
transforming into Kyuubi and he falls to the floor. As they
take
a breather, Sai comments that Naruto and his
brother are so alike. He was impatient and unrefined, but
like
Naruto he took on challenges with everything he had. Watching
Naruto brings back memories of his brother, which is why Sai suddenly
remembers what he wanted to draw on the center page of his
book.
He pulls out a brush to finally complete the drawing. It is  a
picture of Sai and his brother as full fledged shinobi, smiling and
holding hands after finally reuniting. Sai tells Naruto that
he
wanted to show his brother this, a picture of their dream.
For
the first time, the smile on Sai’s face is genuine.Naruto and Sai’s break is suddenly broken by the worst possible enemy. Orochimaru approaches from down the corridor. He asks Sai which side he intends to take.
