MenuCHAPTER 280 - Entrusted Feelings 
Gaara has been brought back to life. Naruto and
Kankuro
jokingly talk about how much trouble he had given them.
Temari
brushes them aside and reminds them to show some respect since Gaara is
the Kazekage of Sand while they are mere underlings. Gaara
tries
to get to his feet but Temari cautions him not to move since he is
still weak. Some female Sand ninja in the crowd, who
apparently
are big fans of Gaara, rush forward to see him. They shove Naruto to the side like he
didn’t exist.Naruto grumbles about still being a genin. Kankuro tries to comfort him by saying women are weak for the cool, elite types. But to Naruto, this only brings back memories of what Shikamaru had once said when comparing him and Sasuke. Kankuro then gets serious and properly thanks Naruto for  saving
Gaara. Naruto replies that it is Chiyo and her amazing
medical
jutsu that Kankuro should really thank. Kankuro looks over
and
sees Chiyo’s body being embraced by Sakura. From
the solemn
expression on Sakura’s face and those around her, Kankuro
realizes what jutsu Chiyo had performed. When Naruto tells
him
that Chiyo must be resting from performing the jutsu, he corrects him
by revealing to Naruto that Chiyo is dead. The price of the
Life
Transfer jutsu is that the user’s life must be exchanged in
order
to bring life to the target. Chiyo led the Sand’s
puppet squad in developing the theory behind the jutsu.
However,
after learning its cost she decided the risk was too high and
designated it as a  forbidden
jutsu to be sealed away. In that moment, Naruto realizes why
Chiyo had said those words to him before completing the jutsu on Gaara.Ebizo, Chiyo’s brother, stands over his sister’s body. He admits he half expects her to suddenly laugh and say “I’m just playing dead” like she’s always done in the past. But the peaceful expression on Chiyo’s face tells him that this time is for real. Temari comes to Naruto’s side and tells him that he truly has a mysterious power. Before meeting Naruto, Chiyo had forsaken the village and would never have done what she had for Gaara. Like Konoha’s Sandaime, she sacrificed her life because she entrusted the  future to shinobi like Naruto and Gaara.After hearing what Chiyo had done for him, Gaara attempts to get to 
his feet. Naruto is there to help him up. Standing
in front
of her body, Gaara calls for everyone to say a prayer for Chiyo to
honor her sacrifice.In a clearing not far from the forest where Deidara had self-destructed, the real Deidara emerges from the ground. He is infuriated because even his last  resort
technique, the Jibaku Bunshin (Self-Detonating Clone) was done in by
Kakashi’s Mangekyou Sharingan. He sets off to the
forest to
look for the arm which Kakashi had severed. However, he is
more
concerned about finding the Akatsuki ring that’s still on his
right hand than about the arm
itself.In the cave where Sasori’s body still lay, the Akatsuki member known as Zetsu appears with a newcomer, Tobi, to recover Sasori’s Akatsuki ring. Tobi finds it first and playfully flips it in the air. He presumes that he can now be a full member of Akatsuki since there’s an opening. Zetsu tells him it’s not as simple as that, but his alternate personality insists that Tobi is good enough. Ironically, as the ring drops back down, Tobi completely misses to catch it.
