MenuCHAPTER 279 - Mysterious Power
Naruto initially can’t believe that Chiyo can
really bring
Gaara back to life. By watching the chakra flow, Neji can see
that it is indeed what is happening. Sakura
knows Chiyo is sacrificing her own life for Gaara’s, but
keeps
her silence because she knows Chiyo has already made up her mind on the
matter. The chakra transfer is going well until suddenly Chiyo recognizes that she does not have enough chakra left to complete the process. Without hesitation, Naruto steps forward and offers his own chakra for Gaara. His sincerity reminds Chiyo of what Kakashi had said about Naruto. As a fellow Jinchuuriki, Naruto is the only person in the world who understands Gaara, especially
the pain he had to endure in his life. That’s why
Naruto
can’t abandon Gaara no matter what. Whether he is
of Konoha
or of the Sand, it doesn’t matter to Naruto. Naruto
can
forgive and become friends with anybody without saying much.
He
has the mysterious power to change
people.Chiyo accepts Naruto’s offer and tells him to place his hands over hers and the chakra transfer is started again. As the jutsu is nearing completion, Chiyo tells
Naruto that she is glad someone like him appeared in the world of
shinobi which the old people like her had
created. She
confesses that everything she did to protect the Sand in the past was a
mistake, but it seems at least she is able to do something right in the
end. She is happy that the futures of Konoha and Sand will be
different than her own, and tells Naruto to strive to be a Hokage
unlike any before. To Sakura, Chiyo admits that she is a lot
like
herself. She advises Sakura not to risk her own life so
willingly,
referring to her actions in the battle with Sasori, and to save it for
those who are important to her. She sees great potential in
Sakura because there are not many women with the same
chivalrous
spirit as her own. Someday she will become a kunoichi
surpassing
even Tsunade. Lastly, Chiyo asks Naruto, as the only one who
shares Gaara’s pain, to help him each other out in the future.
In a semi-conscious state, Gaara awakens to the sound of
someone
running towards him and shouting his name. He sees the
juvenile
version of himself crying alone in a barren landscape. Then
suddenly, a hand grabs his shoulder, Gaara turns around to see a young
Naruto comforting him with a big smile on his face. His
vision
blurs and Gaara regains consciousness and sees the real Naruto in front
of him who welcomes him back. All around him, the shinobi of
the
Sand who came to rescue their Kazekage have all gathered around Gaara.
