Everyone tries to get away from Deidara as he self-destructs
but are no match for the speed at which the explosion is
expanding. Then  suddenly,
the entirety of the blast simply vanishes, leaving only smoke and dust
behind. As everyone stares in bewilderment trying to
comprehend how they managed to escape death, Gai sees Kakashi who was
facing the explosion the entire time and realizes who had saved
them. Kakashi had pushed his body to the limit and managed to
use his Mangekyou Sharingan one last time to send both Deidara
and his explosion to another dimension. Kakashi managed to
make it in time but completely exhausted his body in the
process. He collapses due to the strain and has to be
helped by Naruto.At a clearing beyond the forest, Naruto sets down Gaara’s body for Sakura to examine. From Sakura’s expression, it is clear that it is too late to revive Gaara even using her medical jutsu. After a brief silence, tears begin to flow from Naruto’s eyes. Clenching his fists in anger, he asks why it is always  Gaara who has to suffer. He had changed
so much after his initial meeting with Naruto. Although he
was treated as an outcast all his life, he still worked hard to make
himself fitting to become the next Kazekage of the Sand. And
then someone comes along and takes his life away like it was nothing. Chiyo tries to tell Naruto to calm down, but he surprises everyone by blowing up on her. Naruto blames her and the leaders of the Sand for Gaara’s death. If they hadn’t put a Tailed-Beast demon inside Gaara, then none of this would have ever happened. Gaara never had any choice in  the
matter and labeling him as a “Jinchuuriki” made his
life even more demeaning. However, Naruto also blames
himself. He couldn’t save Sasuke and now he has
lost Gaara too. He is frustrated that after three years of
training, nothing has changed at all. Despite some of Naruto’s harsh words, they seem to make Chiyo more resolute. She walks to Gaara’s body and begins to performing a jutsu on him. Sakura recognizes it as the Life Transfer jutsu Chiyo had used to heal her earlier. She calls out to Chiyo to stop, but her only response was a smile back at Sakura. Thinking back, Sakura realizes this is what Chiyo meant by “something more important she must do.” She is attempting to bring Gaara back by exchanging her own life for his.
