MenuCHAPTER 273 - Last Battle  The final battle
has begun, Sakura and Chiyo brace for the attack from
Sasori’s one hundred puppets. Chiyo orders her own
puppets to intercept them. Two of them link together, one
generates a chakra field in the shape of a shurinken while the second
puppet hurls him towards Sasori’s horde.  Sasori’s
puppets attempt to block it with their weapons, but
the chakra shurinken slice through them unhindered. Another
of Chiyo’s puppets attacks with tendrils while a second
slices through them with twin swords. Three of
Chiyo’s puppets combine into a pyramid stance and perform a
jutsu known as Sanbou Kyuukai (Three Buddhism Treasures: Vacuum Smash)
and create a powerful vortex of air. But the vortex only
halts Sasori’s puppets temporarily and their massive numbers
soon overwhelm the trio. Although Chiyo’s puppets
are individually stronger, they cannot hold out for long against the
Sasori’s sheer numbers. Sakura is holding off the
onslaught with the
remainder of her strength. Her tiredness causes her to be
careless and susceptible to an attack from behind.
Fortunately, Chiyo notices in time and sacrifices one of her puppets to
block the blow meant for Sakura. Chiyo knows that even in
this intense battle, neither Sakura or herself can afford to become
injured. They only have one antidote to Sasori’s
poison left, and the fight will become several times harder if one of
them were to sustain an injury from a poisoned weapon. But in
her lapse in concentration, one of Sasori’s puppets manages
to get through her defences and slashes her arm with a blade.Sakura shouts out to Chiyo, but she insists that they must keep going. They will eventually be overwhelmed by Sasori’s puppets, so they must gamble and attack Sasori himself. One of Chiyo’s   puppets produces an orb and
Chiyo tells Sakura to use it on Sasori. Chiyo then creates an
opening through the puppets to give Sakura a clear line of attack at
Sasori. Sakura pushes forward to as close as possible and
throws the orb straight at Sasori. In mid-air the orb
transforms and grows into the mechanical head of a creature with rows
of fangs protruding from its open mouth. Sasori is too late
to avoid the attack and is pinned into the wall by the
device. It contained a sealing jutsu that suppresses all
chakra flow, even chakra threads. In one moment, all of
Sasori’s puppets lifelessly collapse to the ground. The poison Chiyo received
from her cut has began
working and Chiyo drops to her knees. Sakura rushes back
yelling for her to use their last
antidote, but is shocked to see one
of Sasori’s puppets rise from behind Chiyo. The
body that had been pinned to the wall was just the hollow shell of
Sasori’s body. His true essence, the only remaining
part of his real body, is contained in the capsule attached to his
chest. Cunningly, Sasori was able to transfer it to one of
his other puppets before his last body was sealed. As Sasori thrusts
forward a poisoned blade to kill Chiyo, Sakura realizes she
won’t make it in time to deflect the attack. In a
selfless move that even surprises Sasori, Sakura blocks the blade using
her own body.
