As Sakura demolishes Sasori’s Hiruko puppet, a
figure draped in a piece of black cloth leaps away rapidly; it is the
true form of Sasori. He has figured out how Sakura was able to avoid
all his traps and attacks. Chiyo saw through all of his
attacks and was
controlling Sakura’s body with the use of thin chakra threads
normally used for puppet jutsu. Futhermore, she was able to
attach the same threads to Sasori’s tail when she threw the
initial barrage of kunai at him. The chakra threads were
suppressed in power and so were invisible to detection, Sasori did not
notice them until his tail was stopped when he tried to attack
Sakura. Chiyo is impressed Sasori was able to work it out so
well. Sasori replies that it’s not surprising since
it was Chiyo who first taught him about puppet jutsu.In the Hidden Village of the Sand, the elder council has convened for an emergency meeting with both Kankurou and Baki in attendance. The major concern of many members is not that Gaara’s life is in danger, but the fact that his kidnapping may be  looked
upon as a sign of weakness by the other countries and Hidden
Villages. One elder even suggests that it may be a good thing
if Gaara did not return at all. They had elected Gaara as the
new Kazekage of the village because they thought it would allow them to
control him better. But despite the changes in Gaara, one
elder states that there is still fear amongst the older generation that
he might go berserk again. After all, the previous Kazekage,
Gaara’s own father, had ordered his son to be assassinated at
one point.Kankurou becomes angry at the elder’s words and physically threatens him. Baki orders him to cease and reminds him where he is. A fellow elder tells Kankurou he has a right to be angry, but this type of situation has happened  before
to the Sand. The Sandaime, the third Kazekage of the village,
disappeared a long time ago. He was by far the strongest
Kazekage of them all, but someone was able to defeat him leaving no
trace of his body behind. The village focussed all of its
resources on finding the Sandaime which made the village
vulnerable. A war broke out the relationships with other
shinobi villages deteriorated. This time the council is not
willing to make the same mistakes; the wellbeing of the village must
come before Gaara.With a loud boom, Naruto’s violent attack on Deidara misses its mark and he impacts into the side of  the riverbank. Deidara produced an
explosive clay bird and  sends
it flying at Naruto. Kakashi intercepts it with a shuriken
and the bird explodes in the air. Naruto yells at Deidara
that he will not allow him to take Gaara. Deidara comments on
how odd both Naruto and Gaara are as Jinchuuriki. The
previous two Jinchuuriki that Akatsuki had captured did not care for  anybody else. In fact, none of their
fellow villagers came to help them when Akatsuki abducted
them. Deidara tells Naruto that he will share the same fate
as Gaara and die when they take the Kyubi from his body. Pulling the cloth away, Sasori reveals his face. Sakura is surprised and Chiyo is especially stunned at what they see. The Sasori standing before them has the face and body of a young child, he has not aged at all since Chiyo last saw him so many years ago. Sasori produces a summoning scroll. He says he’ll show them his favourite puppet because it is the one that was the hardest to kill. When the puppet appears, Chiyo can’t believe her eyes. It is the Sandaime, the missing third Kazekage of Sand. Sasori was the one who killed him and turned his body into his own puppet.
