MenuCHAPTER 261 - Jinchuuriki It is clear to Kakashi that they lost to Akatsuki in the last battle. The purpose was to stall them and it worked perfectly. Chiyo concludes that the Akatuski must have already begun to extract the  Tailed-Beast from Gaara. She surmises
they might attempt to use the extracted demon
to make a new Jinchuuriki. Sakura’s interest is
peaked again upon hearing “Jinchuuriki.”
Chiyo explains to her that although is very dangerous to try to control
a Tailed Beast, many organizations still attempt to do so in the
pursuit to create the ultimate weapon. Jinchuuriki literally
means the ‘power of human sacrifice’; by sealing a
Tailed-Beast inside a human host, the beast’s powers are
compressed. The host will be able to resonate with the
Tailed-Beast and may gain the ability to use some its inconceivable
powers.
Chiyo reveals that before Gaara, there were two other hosts
who had held the One-Tailed Shukaku demon. Sakura is shocked that the
use of Jinchuuriki has had such a long history. Hesitantly,
she asks about how to remove a Tailed-Beast from a
Jinruuriki. Chiyo explains that the process would take a
considerable amount of time, but is possible if one uses a sealing
jutsu which releases the same amount of power possessed by the
Tailed-Beast. However, once the Tailed-Beast is extracted,
the
Jinruuriki will
die.Upon hearing this, tears begin to well up in Sakura’s eyes. Naruto turns to her with a big smile and tells her not to worry because he will surely rescue Gaara. Sakura exclaims it’s actually  him she is crying for, but Naruto does not let
her finish and tells Sakura they should get going.At the Akatsuki hideout, the leader orders Zetsu to get rid of the two bodies used as body doubles for the Imitation Shapeshifting jutsu. Zetsu complies, he appears at the corpse of  the body of the Sand ninja used for
Kisame’s double and begins to consume him. Itachi
reports that Team Kakashi is traveling with an advisor from the Sand,
Chiyo. Sasori’s eyes widen at her name because he
did not expect the Sand to send his own grandmother for the
mission. At the same time, Chiyo is resting with the others
around a fire. As she looks to Naruto’s  sleeping face, her thoughts turn to how it
resembles young Sasori when he slept between his father and mother. The next day, even as the Konoha ninja continue to race toward the hideout, the extraction process for Gaara is complete. In a dream state, Gaara sees a double of himself. He wonders about who the other presence is and about the purpose of his own existence. As the other Gaara moves into the distance and fades away, Gaara’s real body falls lifelessly to the ground. The Akatsuki leader announces the extraction is finished. At that moment, Team Guy arrives at the entrance to the Akatsuki hideout.
