MenuCHAPTER 259 - Itachi's Power 
Naruto is caught in Itachi’s genjutsu, he throws kunai at
all three copies of Itachi but it is futile. Itachi’s body
transforms into a flock of black birds upon being hit. He
rematerializes floating in the air above
Naruto. Naruto is angry that he was affected by the genjustu even
though he wasn’t looking into Itachi’s eyes. Itachi
gloats that having one finger is enough to hypnotize Naruto, it is then
that Naruto realizes Itachi had performed his genjutsu when he simply
pointed at him.
Itachi further talks down to Naruto by stating he won’t
use his Kaleidoscope Sharingan on him; or rather he can’t use it
at the moment. Frustrated and feeling helpless, Naruto thinks
back to what Jiraiya had taught him about fighting genjutsu users
during his training. Genjutsu is an illusionary
technique where the user manipulates the five senses of an enemy ninja
by controlling the flow of chakra through the cranial nerves. It
usually requires a ninja of high degree of intellect and skill to
use, unfortunately Naruto is not one of those. Jiraiya reveals to
Naruto the ways to break a genjutsu. One is to concentrate large
amounts of your own chakra to disrupt the chakra flow generated by  the opponent. The other method is to have an ally channel chakra into your body to disrupt the flow. Naruto attempts to break Itachi’s genjutsu by gathering a tremendous amount of his chakra. Itachi is impressed by Naruto’s progress but denotes he is still weak. The remaining black birds Itachi had materialized from dive at Naruto's position. They morph into  shurikens
in mid-flight and plunge into Naruto’s body. Naruto is in a
lot of pain but maintains his concentration to break Itachi’s
genjutsu.Suddenly, the skin on Naruto’s face begins to peel, revealing the face of Sasuke in his Level 2 Cursed Seal state. The illusionary Sasuke says he will finish the job of killing Naruto from their last battle and proceeds to strangle Naruto with his own right hand. While Naruto fights with his own body, Sakura’s head emerges from Naruto chest, Kakashi’s head morphs out of his left shoulder and Gaara’s eye appears in his left  hand. They play on Naruto’s own guilt by placing blame on him for letting them down in the past.Naruto’s heart is racing and he is about to reach his  limit
when the genjustu is broken by Sakura and Chiyo. Naruto returns
to reality and realizes Itachi’s illusion took place only in the
first few seconds of battle. Kakashi recoils from his
initial attack and asks if Naruto is okay. The real
battle is coming and Naruto will need to put his all into it.
