MenuCHAPTER 256 - Those Who Stand in the Way Negi Hyuga activates his Byakugan and cannot believe the tremendous aura of chakra emanating from Kisame. Negi notes that he hasn’t seen this much chakra from one person since his battle with Naruto during the Chunin tournament.  
Kisame grins and starts the battle with Water Seal:
Aquatic Shockwave. A huge torrent of water is
released from
his
mouth. An enormous tidal wave is sent crashing towards Team
Guy. Everyone jumps away as the water is about to envelope
their position. As Guy is in mid-air, Kisame appears from  the
cover of the wave and catches the Konoha ninja off guard.
Just as he is about to slice Guy with his sword, Samehada (Shark Skin),
Rock Lee attacks from the side with a jump kick called
Leaf’s
Rising Gust and knocks‘ Kisame‘s sword
away. Before Kisame could retaliate, Negi makes a successful
long range strike at him with a new taijutsu called Hakke Vacuum
Palm. Kisame recovers his sword just in time to block a
spiked ball projectile from Tenten. The explosive tag
attached to the ball  explodes, but Kisame manages to duck underwater
in
time to avoid it. After seeing
Kisame’s ninjutsu
and sword, Guy’s searches his memory again, but all he
manages to
remember is that Kisame is someone he had fought before. Naruto, Sakura, Kakashi and Chiyo are travelling toward the location of the Akatsuki hideout. Sakura asks Naruto when it was that Akatsuki first began targeting him. Naruto refuses to talk about it, so Kakashi fills in the details for her. Three years ago,  two
Akatsuki members, Kisame Hoshigaki and Itachi
Uchiha came to Konoha to take Naruto. They were stopped by
Jiraiya and haven’t made another attempt at Naruto
since. Chiyo speculates that the reason is not because
Akatsuki can’t retrieve Naruto, but rather because they  need
more time to prepare the ritual to extract the demon fox Kyuubi from
him. Chiyo explains that there are a total of nine
‘Tailed Beasts’, each named according
to the number
of tails it possesses. Each beast contains a monstrous amount
of chakra. During the Great Ninja War, all the hidden shinobi
villages tried to acquire the beasts to gain a military
advantage. However, mortal men cannot hope to control such
power, which is why Chiyo questions why Akatsuki would try something so
dangerous. After the war, the nine beasts were scattered
across the world. Some roam freely while other tailed beasts
are sealed within human hosts such as Naruto and Gaara.At the Akatsuki hideout, the extraction of One-Tail Shukaku from Gaara is almost complete. There are nine eye sockets on the blindfold which covers the statue’s face, two are currently filled meaning Akatsuki has already acquired two Tailed Beasts. As the ritual is nearing completion, a third eye begins to open. Zetsu picks up Naruto’s group heading towards their position. The Akatsuki leader orders another member to intercept them. As Naruto and the others reach a clearing in the forest, Kakashi suddenly warns everyone to halt. Standing in their path is Itachi Uchiha.
