MenuCHAPTER 248 - Ambushing the Sand Deidara soars high
above the Village of
the Sand and
spots three sky guards watching from the rooftops. He creates three
small clay spiders and lets them drop down. The spiders catch the
guards by surprise and leap onto their faces, at which point Deidara
performs a hand seal causing them to explode. His actions are noticed
by Gaara, who intercepts Deidara as he lands.Without uttering a word, Gaara launches an attack with a sand claw. Deidara escapes to the sky on his clay bird, but Gaara pursues using his floating sand technique. Deidara refers to Gaara as a “Jinchuuriki“ (power of human sacrifice) because
he posesses the One-Tail Shukaku inside him. Gaara has little
words for him and summons a huge mass of sand from below.
Gaara
clearly has the geographical advantage in this battle.![]() With so much sand at his
disposal, Gaara produces
multiple sand claws which simultaneously attack Deidara. He
barely manages to evade them in the air and then produces two clay
birds which he launches swiftly at Gaara. Gaara defends with a claw
but the birds are too fast. They home in on Gaara and Deidara triggers
them to explode on impact. Deidara peers through the smoke
and
sees that Gaara has summoned his ultimate defence sand sphere in time to block the blast. Thinking Gaara has taken a
defensive stance, Deidara lets
his guard down long enough for Gaara to execute his Sabakurou
(Desert
Prison). A giant mass of sand rushes from behind Deidara and
proceeds to envelope him and his clay bird. Deidara makes
a
mad dash for the last remaining opening in the sand prison and manages
to punch through by abandoning his bird and jumping through.
However, he makes contact with the sand mass and part of it clings
onto
her left arm as he falls. Gaara wastes no time to perform
his
Sabakukyu (Desert Coffin) and crushes Deidara’s arm in an
instant.
