MenuCHAPTER 247 - The Sand's Invaders  Naruto takes a walk through
town with Sakura and Kakashi, it's been
ages since he did this. Kakashi mentions he has developed a brilliant
new technique, but Naruto and Sakura seem more interested about where
to go eat. Disappointed at the reaction from his pupils, Kakashi makes
an excuse about paperwork and disappears.  Walking down the street,
Naruto and Sakura spot Shikamaru and Tamari
walking side by side. Naruto asks if Shikamaru is on a date with
Tamari, and both of them deny it. Tamari explains that she has to
travel between Sand and Leaf because she’s an instructor for
the upcoming Chuunin exam. Naruto reminisces about
his Chuunin exam but
Shikamaru points out that Naruto is the only one from their class that
hasn’t passed the test yet. Naruto is shocked to discover all
his friends including Sakura have become Chuunin in the time he has
been away. Shikamaru mentions that Neji, Tamari and Kankurou have even
become Jounin. Most surprisingly, Gaara has become the Kazekage of the
Sand.
In the Sand Village, the elder council is holding a meeting.
Sand and
Leaf have been cooperating
over the years and become close allies. One
bit of information from Jiraiya surfaces during the meeting: Akatsuki
is on the move. As the members disband from the meeting, one of them,
Yuura, is hit in the head by an invisible force.Outside the Sand Village, two members of Akatsuki, Sasori and Deidara, walk toward the city. They were the ones responsible for the jutsu on Yuura. It seems Yuura had been manipulated by Orochimaru in the past and now lay as a sleeper agent in the Sand  Village. Sasori and Deidara
came to Sand to capture the “One-Tail Shukaku.” The
city guards spot them, but when the two arrive at the gates, the doors
automatically open for them. Standing amongst the dead bodies of his
fellow Sand ninja is Yuura. Orochimaru’s manipulation is
still effective and Yuura has become obedient to Sasori.Deidara is an explosive clay user, he can mould the material into many animal forms and trigger them to explode on command. From a mouth growing out of the palm of his hand, Deidara produces a bundle of clay which transforms into a bird-like creature. Riding atop his clay beast, Deidara sails into the sky to attack the Sand Village from above.
