024 - Speed
Sasuke and
Haku clash blades. Both Kakashi and Zabuza are surprised that Sasuke
can keep up with Haku's speed. Kakashi tells Sakura to guard Tazuna and
let Sasuke handle Haku. Haku claims he doesn't wish to harm Sasuke, but
has no choice if he doesn't step aside. Haku claims Sasuke
won't be able to keep up with his speed next time, and he has already
gained two advantages on him, much to Sasuke's surprise. Haku explains that the
first is the water on the ground, and the second is that he has already
occupied one of his hands because Sasuke needs to guard against
Haku’s needle with his kunai. Sasuke can now only run from
his attacks.
To Kakashi and Sasuke's astonishment, Haku is
able to make hand seals with only one hand. He shouts out "Special
Jutsu: Water Flying Needles," and a bunch of water-composed needles
rise into the air pointing down on Sasuke.  Zabuza is amused by Haku's comment about
not wanting to harm Sasuke. Sasuke begins to focus his chakra to his
feet. Haku’s needles swarm in on Sasuke, an explosion occurs,
sending Haku flying backward. When he looks up, Sasuke is gone. Sasuke
had used chakra to propel himself high into the air, he sends a barrage
of shuriken after Haku, forcing him to retreat backward. Taunting his
slow speed, he suddenly appears right behind him, repeating the same
words Haku had told him about only being able to run from his attacks.
 Sasuke throws a kunai
punch at Haku, which is blocked, but then Sasuke throws the kunai with
his wrist alone, forcing Haku to duck. Sasuke was waiting for this and lands a hard kick to Haku’s
head. Haku is surprised by Sasuke's incredible speed. He is sent flying
back to Zabuza, who is astonished that Haku lost in a match of speed.
Sasuke claims he is the victor in speed. Kakashi tells Zabuza not to
underestimate his team; Sasuke was the number one rookie in the Leaf
Village, Sakura is the brightest, and Naruto is the… well,
he is the number one hyper-active ninja in the group.
 Zabuza seems amused.
He tells Haku at this rate, they will lose. Haku agrees, and begins to
do something to the air around everyone which Sasuke soon realizes. He
surrounds himself and Sasuke with giant floating mirrors with his Demonic Ice Mirrors Jutsu. Kakashi has
never seen this technique before. To everyone's surprise, Haku jumps
into one of the mirrors, disappearing inside it. His image then appears
in all of the mirrors surrounding Sasuke. Kakashi wants to interfere,
but Zabuza jumps in front of him, claiming himself as Kakashi's
opponent. He tells Kakashi there is no more hope for Sasuke.
In the mirror cage,
Haku announces he is ready to show Sasuke his real speed. At once, all
the mirrors send a barrage of needles at Sasuke from all angles. Zabuza
cautions Kakashi that if he goes to save Sasuke, he will kill Sakura
and Tazuna. Sakura apologizes to Tazuna, but she must leave his side.
She runs towards the mirrors and throws a kunai towards Sasuke for him
to use. But Haku appears out of one of the mirrors and grabs the kunai
easily, revealing that it can see both inside and outside of the cage.
But suddenly a shuriken successfully hits Haku in his mask, knocking
him to the ground. It is Naruto, he has finally arrived!
