MenuCHAPTER 022 - A Rival Appears 
A night after training, a rough looking Naruto and Sasuke head back to
Tazuna’s. When they get back Naruto tells them that they both
made it
to the top. Kakashi says they will start protecting Tazuna
tomorrow with Sakura. Tazuna tells them the bridge is almost done,
which is good because he too is also beat. Tsunami warns them they
mustn’t
overdo it. Inari looks at Naruto and starts thinking of Kaiza. He
begins crying. He bursts out at everyone, telling them to stop trying so hard because all their efforts are futile agains Gatou and the strong men he has hired. Everyone is alarmed but Naruto, who just dismisses it. Inari lashes out at Naruto telling him he would never want to be like somebody as goofy and carefree as  him. Naruto brings up the
tragedy with Kaiza and calls Inari a cry baby. Sakura tells Naruto to
stop. Outside, Kakashi comforts a crying Inari. He tries telling him that Naruto didn’t mean what he said, he just doesn’t think before he speaks. He tells Inari that Naruto also grew up  without a father. He didn’t have
either parents, and
has never had a single friend, making his past worse than
Inari’s.
Inari asks how this is possible without him crying even once. Kakashi
tells him that Naruto is sick of crying, and for his dream, he would do
anything. He, like Kaiza, knows what it means to be strong.  The next day Kakashi,
Sakura, and Sasuke depart to the bridge. Naruto
is still sleeping, exhausted from training, so Kakashi asks Tsunami to
take care of him. Gatou prepares an ambush for the bridge that day. Zabuza and Haku depart. Naruto finally wakes up, unexpectedly early, and takes off for the bridge site. When Kakashi and team get to the site, there are a bunch of badly injured workers. One of them, badly hurt, tells them a monster did it.  Back at Tazuna’s house, Gatou’s bodyguards approach a clueless Tsunami and Inari. The mist starts to set in at the bridge. The team gets ready for the assault. Zabuza’s voice pierces through the mist. He notices that Sasuke is shaking again, just like last time. Zabuzas appear all around them. Sasuke tells him that he is actually shaking from excitement.
