MenuCHAPTER 020 - The Land that had a Hero
Tazuna explains that the people of this land have been stripped of
their courage, ever since that day of the incident of Inari's father.
Kakashi asks what happened, but Tazuna explains he must first tell
about Inari's father, the hero. Inari met that man about 3 years ago. On a dock, it seems Inari was being picked on by 3 older boys. One of them stole his dog, Pochi. Inari's complaining irritated the kid, and he threw the dog into the water. He tells the others to let go of Inari, and if he likes the dog so much, he can go in and save it. Inari wants to save the dog; it is his only friend, but he doesn't know how to swim. The bully, now revealed to be Akane, pushes Inari into the water telling him to save his dog. The other two kids start to doubt if they should have done this, but Akane quiets them down with
threats. Inari was
drowning, but his dog Pochi started swimming to shore. The boys chased
after the dog, leaving Inari in the water, still drowning. Sometime later, Inari woke up next to that man from the picture, his father. But he didn't know him yet at the time. The man told Inari he saved him, and taught those kids a lesson. The man was surprised the dog didn't help him, because in his country, dogs are very loyal animals. Inari is ashamed of his cowardly actions, but the man tells him not to worry about it because he is just a kid. He tells him when he becomes a man, to choose
a life of no regrets. He tells him that if he loves something, protect
it will all his life, no matter what. If he does that, even if he dies,
the proof of his life will remain. Tazuna explains that this man, this hero, was named Kaiza, a fisherman who came to the Land of Waves to follow his dreams. He said Kaiza and Inari became very close friends after that, most likely
because Inari's
real father was dead long ago. Kaiza soon became part of the family,
and was the answer to the cities problems. Back to the flashback, Kaiza is informed that due to the rain, the water is overflowing the city damn. Kaiza's plan to fix this was to tie a rope around the stray gate and pull it closed. The townspeople were skeptical, it was too dangerous, but if they didn't do something, all of D-area (a section of the city) would surely be wiped out. People, especially Inari, tell Kaiza it is too dangerous, he will die, but he assures them he will be alright. He told Inari he would do anything to save the city he loves. Kaiza jumped into the
water, carrying the rope. With Inari's
support, Kaiza accomplished placing the rope over the gate, and
everyone pulled it shut. Kaiza was proclaimed the hero of the city, but
then, Gatou came to the city. Tazuna explains that in front of
everyone, Kaiza was put to death by Gatou. Gatou told the people that
Kaiza was partaking in terrorist activities against Gatou Corporation.
Therefore, he must be put to death as a punishment. Inari watched from
behind a gate, scolding his dad for lying about being able to protect
him and the city with his two arms. Tazuna explains that after that,
Inari, Tsumani (Inari's mother), and the whole city had changed after
that day.
Naruto remembers
Inari telling him that there is no such thing as a
hero. He trips, eagerly trying to run outside. Kakashi tells him if he
is planning on training, he should take a day off. If he releases any
more chakra, he could die. Naruto gets up, telling everyone he is going
to prove that in this world, heroes do exist!Summary provided by ssi sasuke |
