MenuCHAPTER 018 - Training Day 
Kakashi tells his team that there training starts with climbing a tree.
The team finds this preposterous, questioning how climbing a tree is
going to improve their techniques. Kakashi suggests they let him
finish. He adds that they must climb the tree without using their hands! Sasuke and Sakura are shocked, but Naruto on the other hand is excited. Kakashi demonstrates by merely walking up the vertical tree trunk, and then under a limbm making him completely upside down. Kakashi asks if they understand, and then explains that it is all possible if they gather chakra under the souls of their feet. Sakura 
angrily questions how climbing a tree is going to make them stronger.
Kakashi tells them the point of this training is to first teach them
how to better control their chakra, for that is the most important
aspect to using jutsu. He adds that this technique can be difficult for
even very skilled ninja, because the small amount of chakra needed to
climb a tree is small, but must be exact, and the bottom of the foot is
the hardest possible place to gather chakra; which means mastering this
should make it easier to master jutsu. Secondly the training is to develop the stamina needed to properly control chakra. He explains gather chakra for different jutsu can be very difficult, and in battle, a ninja is constantly moving, making it move even more difficult. That is where the tree climbing comes in.  He says this is
something they must learn on
their own, and throws
three kunai toward them. He tells them to use those kunai to mark how
high they make it up the tree. Then use that mark and try to surpass it
every time. He tells them they won't be able to simply walk up at
first, so get some momentum and start with running up. Naruto starts bragging that this will be no problem for himself, but 
Kakashi tells him to put his money where his mouth is. All three start
trying to gather chakra in their feet, and make a run for separate
trees. Naruto immediately falls back, while Sasuke makes it a descent
way up before jumping off. He notices too much chakra cracks the
surface of the tree, but too little won't allow you to stick. Kakashi notices the difference in the two, but suddenly everyone sees Sakura sitting on top of a tree branch pretty high up. Kakashi pronounces her to be the best at  controlling chakra so far. Much to
Sakura's dismay, Naruto is the one impressed by her, not Sasuke.
Kakashi starts bragging about her, before poking fun at Naruto and
Sasuke, but Sakura stands up for them. Kakashi thinks to himself that Naruto and Sasuke have an uncomparable amount of chakra within them, and if this training goes will, they could become valuable assets. From a distance,  Inari is
watching them train. He soon leaves, calling it all a waste of time. At a tree-house looking building, the Hunter-nin kid approached Gatou with his two bodyguards. Gatou mocks him, along with the entire Mist Village for being defeated. He goes on to mock Zabuza, before things get tense Gatou approached Zabuza. He reaches him arm toward him, but the kid grabs it and  tells him not to touch Zabuza with his
dirty
hands. His bodyguards attack immediately but the Hunter-nin quickly
immobilizes them. Gatou tells them they have one more chance. Zabuza
reveals that the Hunter-nins name is Haku, and tells him not to kill
Gatou, its too early.
