MenuCHAPTER 016 - Who Are You? 
Zabuza's body lay motionless on the ground with the needles lodged in
his neck. Kakashi inspected the body to reassure himself of the death.
It was true, Kakashi told himself, Zabuza was finished. The masked
ninja thanked Kakashi because he had been searching for an oppurtunity
to kill Zabuza for quite some time now. His mask was white with four
squiggly lines in the forehead region. (The same as the symbol on
Zabuza's forehead protector.) Kakashi said that
with that mask he must
be as Hidden Mist Hunter Ninja. The masked ninja acknowledged that this
was true. Naruto asked what a hunter-nin was.  The masked ninja said his job was to hunt down Missing-nins. He said he was a member of the Hidden Mist's Hunter-nin team. Kakashi thought to himself that from this kids voice and height, he must be around Naruto's age, and was impressed that he was already a Hunter-nin. There must be something special about this kid. Naruto looked both impressed and astonished by this masked intruder. Naruto told him to identify himself immediately. Kakashi assured Naruto that this guy was no enemy. Naruto said he couldn't believe that a guy as strong as Zabuza was killed by a  kid not much different from him.
Kakashi sympathized with him, but reassured him that this was the
truth. He told Naruto that out there in the world, there were
kids even
younger than Naruto, yet even stronger than Kakashi. The Hunter-nin
appeared next to Zabuza's body and told them he must dispose of it, as
it contains many secrets. He bid them farewell, and disappeared. Kakashi told the team to get ready to finish taking Tazuna back to his house. Tazuna told them that once they got there, they could relax all they wanted. All of a sudden, Kakashi collapsed. It was because he over used the sharingan.  Back at Tazuna's
house, his daughter checked to
see how the bed-ridden
Kakashi was doing. He said he was ok, but probably couldn't move for a
week or so. Sakura acknowledged that the sharingan was
incredible, but
with that kind of a side-effect,
one must really consider before using
it. Tazuna said they should be safe for a while after
defeating
somebody that strong.  Sakura asked more
about the masked kid. Kakashi
told her it was a mask
used by the Mist's special Hunter-nin team. They are also known as body
erasers. Their job is to completely dispose of the bodies of
missing-nins, without a trace. A ninja's body contains secrets about
their villages. Things like chakra types, herbs, and other secrets the
village contains. Kakashi claimed if he died, the secrets of the
sharingan could be revealed, and an enemy could steal the
jutsu.
Hunter-nin protect these secrets. Elsewhere in the forest, the Hunter-nin sits crouched over Zabuza's body with a kit of knives. First he cut the mouth cloth to let some blood drain. Zabuza grabbed his arm, and told him he could do it himself. The Hunter-nin didn't look surprised, and 
acknowledged he was
back to life faster than he thought. Zabuza told the kid he was tough,
pulling the needles out. Zabuza made fun of the mask, so the kid took
it off. The kid said it reminded him of the old days, and was
necessary. The kid told him he would have died if he didn't interfere, but Zabuza was just mad that he had to go for the neck. The kid told Zabuza he didn't want to hurt his beautiful body, and it was easiest to hit an acupunture in the neck. He told him he wouldn't be moving much for a while. Zabuza went on to compliment the kids cleverness. The mist cleared, and with it, Zabuza's determination. He claimed next time he would beat the sharingan.
