011 - Going Ashore
Kakashi tells Naruto that it’s good that
he’s letting out the poisoned blood, but warns that
he’ll die from blood loss if lets it keeps leaking out like
that. He goes to bandage Naruto’s hand, but notices
that the cut is already healing itself; it is one of the
powers granted by the Nine-Tails Demon Fox sealed inside Naruto.
Tazuna comes forward and admits that this mission is
probably above the C-rank level because a very dangerous man is after
his life. Gatou, a wealthy shipping magnate, wants Tazuna
dead because he is building the bridge. The Gatou Company
secretly sells drugs and smuggles illegal items for profit; they use
ninjas and gangs to take over the businesses of other
countries. Gatou has already taken control of Wave
Country’s shipping industry, but Tazuna’s bridge is
a threat because it will open up a new connection to the
mainland. The Wave Country is very poor, so of course Tazuna
did not have enough for an expensive B-rank  mission
and had to lie. He tells everyone it’s okay for
them to quit the mission, but adds that if he dies his grandson will
cry and his daughter
will hate the Leaf ninjas forever. Kakashi offers to protect
Tazuna at least until he is safety back in his country.
The team escorts Tazuna back into the port of his
village by a small boat in order to avoid detection. As they
make their way off the pier, Kakashi sighs because he knows their next
attackers will be Jonin level for certain. Naruto, still mad
that Sasuke took all the spotlight in the last battle, tries to act
cool by randomly throwing shurikens into the bushes pretending that he
sensed something. Everyone tells him to stop acting like an
idiot, but Naruto does it again, but this time Kakashi sensed
something too. They find a white rabbit in the bushes when
they retrieve the shuriken. Kakashi knows something is not
right because a wild rabbit would be brown during this
season. The rabbit is white because it has been kept in a
cage for the purpose of body switching techniques. Kakashi
knows their attacker is here already.
Zabuza looks down from the trees and recognizes
Kakashi as Konoha’s Copy Ninja, so it’s no surprise
that the Demon Brothers he sent were defeated so
easily. He throws his large
sword at everyone like a boomerang, but Kakashi notices it in time to
warn everyone to duck for cover. The sword lodges itself into
a tree and Zabuza makes his appearance standing atop the
hilt.
Not wanting to lose to Sasuke again, Naruto rushes
forward to take on the new enemy but Kakashi stops him.
Kakashi knows that the ninja is a missing nin from the Hidden Mist
Village known as Zabuza Momochi. He is an opponent on a whole
other level and Kakashi pulls back the protector over his left eye and
secret weapon because he knows the coming battle will be a tough one.
