Cel-shading is used to render the characters so that they mimmic the look of the anime. Play modes includes standard battle mode and story mode where battles are interspaced with character dialogue and in-game cut scenes shown in the form of a comic book. Gameplay is one-on-one fighting within a large multi-level environment filled with weapons and power-ups (similar to Super Smash Brothers). There are a total of 14 playable characters, 12 of which have non-playable support characters which aide them in combat by providing items or participating in combo attacks.
