Prelude:
During the attack on Konoha, Sasuke chases down Gaara but is no match for him when Gaara begins his partial transformation into the One-Tail Shukaku.  When Naruto and Sakura arrive to help Sasuke, Gaara pins Sakura to a tree with sand that slowly begins to crush her.  Seeing Sasuke paralyzed by his Cursed Seal and Sakura’s life in danger, Naruto summons all his strength to defeat Gaara and save his friends.

The Battle:
During the initial fighting, Naruto is paralyzed with fear and worry about protecting both Sakura and Sasuke from the crazed Gaara.  Naruto attempts to summon the Toad King: Gamabunta but only manages to summon one of his children, Gamakichi, who offers no help except criticism. Gaara taunts Naruto into reckless attacks and then repeatedly pounds him with Sand Shurikens.

With Sakura's life hanging in the balance, Naruto manages to pull off an elaborately coordinated attack which Naruto video cliphe touts as Naruto Uzumaki’s Zenith of Constant Movement.  The purpose is to progressively move closer to Gaara while producing more Shadow Clones each time one is destroyed.  When Naruto is finally able to position himself behind Gaara, he performs a variation of Kakashi's Thousand Years of Pain with an explosive tag kunai. Fortunately for Naruto, he stuck the kunai in the weakest spot of Gaara's sand armor and the resulting explosion put Gaara in a critical state.

Next, Naruto puts everything on the line and produces hundreds of Shadow Clones.  They attack all at once with a barrage of shurikens followed by a 2000 hit combo version of the Naruto Rendan.  But before Naruto can pull off a 4000 hit combo, Gaara unleashes the full power of his Shukaku transformation.

Faced with the gigantic form of the One-Tail Shukaku, Naruto has no choice but to attempt to summon Gamabunta one last time.  With his own chakra depleted, Naruto is able to tap into Kyuubi's chakra and complete the summon before Gaara's Sand Funeral jutsu crushes him.  With the Toad King: Gamabunta on his side, the battle appears to be going in Naruto's favor.  That is until Gaara performs the jutsu Camouflage Sleep to give entire control of his body to Shukaku.  After being released, Shukaku goes on a rampage. His Rising Tribal <Naruto video clip Cavity projectiles overwhelm Gamabunta's own Water Canon Balls. Gamabunta tells Naruto that their only hope is to break Gaara's induced sleep, but they must get next to Shukaku for Naruto to reach Gaara.  Because toads lack fangs and claws, Naruto performs a combo transformation with Gamabunta to turn him into the form of Kyuubi.  When Gamabunta latches on to Shukaku, Naruto forcibly wakes Gaara with a punch.  However, even with Shukaku's consciousness gone, Gaara still manages to maintain the gigantic body.  Naruto taps into Kyuubi's chakra one last time to power himself up and deliver a headbutt on Gaara to break his control.

With Shukaku defeated, an exhausted Gamabunta returns home with Gamakichi.  Naruto and Gaara are also exhausted but face each other for one last attack.  They leap at each other from the treetops, but it is Naruto's punch which lands its mark, thus finally defeating Gaara.
