Summary:
Naruto has a short skirmish against Sai while Shikamaru backs him up. But before the battle can progress, Sai retreats and tells Naruto they'll meet again soon. With Kakashi recovering in the hospital, Tsunade intends to choose two members to replace the empty spots on Team Kakashi. Shizune voices her concern about sending Naruto out on more dangerous missions. She has apparently went behind Tsunade's back and brought in the two Konoha elders, Homura Mitokado and Koharu Utatane, to try to change Tsunade's mind. The elders brought Danzo along and allow him to choose a member from his former ANBU Roots to be one of the replacement members on the new Team Kakashi. Tsunade suspects Danzo's intentions and selects one of her loyal ANBU subordinates, Yamato, to be the leader of Team Kakashi and to keep an eye on the Roots member chosen by Danzo. Later, Naruto and Sakura gather to meet their new teammates. Naruto becomes angry when he discovers that Sai is one the new members. |
