The Shinobi Countries of the Naruverse. A big thanks to Silver_Uchiha for the map. ![]() Legend: Black names denote the five major shinobi villages, white names are the names of the lesser villages (not all village locations are known). Note: "Land of ___" and " ___ Country" mean the same thing. For example, Fire Country may also be called the Land of Fire. The Naruverse Geography The Naruto world or ‘Naruverse’ is composed of approximately 38 countries that, like in the old feudal system, operate as separate political entities ruled by feudal lords known as Daimyos. The major military power in most countries is provided by ninjas. The five most power countries and eleven smaller ones possess or once possessed their own Hidden Shinobi Villages. However, the peace among the countries is weak. Their security depends of the number and skills of the ninjas in each village. To avoid war they demonstrate their power in a show of strength at the annual Chuunin exams where hand picked Genins from each village compete to advance to the Chuunin level. As a result, the leaders of the villages are forced to keep many secrets to protect their techniques, training methods, and kekkei genkais (bloodline abilities) from enemy villages. Some even went further and sealed tailed beast in shinobis of their villages in an attempt to harness the power of the demon beasts. |
