The Naruto Hurricane Chronicles Movie will premiere in Japan on August 4, 2007.  The fourth Naruto movie will be based on the story and characters in Naruto Hurricane Chronicles (Naruto Shippuuden).  However, whether or not the movie will tie-in with the main story of the manga and anime is not known.  All three previous Naruto movies have been based on side stories that have no connection to the main Naruto plot.

Details on the contents of the new movie are scarce but two trailers have been released.  The first preview trailer released in early 2007 can be seen on the home page.  The newest trailer was released in April and can be watched below.  It shows a teaser of what may be a turning point in the Naruto series: the Death of Naruto. Although I am almost certain this is only a marketing gimmick, I have to admit that Sakura's scream near the end sends chills down my back.  More details on the movie is not available at the moment, but check back for updates.

**UPDATE**
A new trailer has been released.  Since there is only less than a month before the movie premiere, this will likely be the last preview to be released.  You can watch it below as Naruto Hurricane Chronicles
Movie Trailer 3.  In it, we witness the scene where Naruto is supposedly killed by being impaled through the chest.  The theme of the movie seems to be about challenging one's fate.  The main plot of the movie involves around Naruto risking his life to save a girl who has accepted her fate and given up on hope.  Naruto refuses to give up on her and puts his own life on the line in the fight against undisclosed enemies in a cavern.  Sakura screams his name as Naruto is impaled by a tendril through the chest.  Konoha holds a funeral in his honor where Sakura questions why Naruto went so far.  Other scenes shown were villains wearing outfits resembling Orochimaru's style (pale loose shirts and ropes).  Another scene shows Rock Lee in his Eight Gates transformation state attacking a large monster.

The verdict?  Naruto is killed in this movie, but don't count on this to be a permanent death.  Remember that all Naruto movies are in essense an extended filler episode with high quality animation.  The story in the Naruto Shippuuden movie likely takes place between the end of the Naruto part I and the current Hurricane Chronicles anime TV series;  it would break chronology if Naruto is killed.  So worry not Naruto fans, the blond haired ninja still has too much life (and a multi-million dollar franchise) in him to be killed just yet.
