Hyoton (Ice Release)

Description:

Hyoton is the bloodline ability to combine wind and nearby water to create ice, and manipulate it into various forms as: senbom (needles), spears, mirrors. This ice, merged with the user’s chakra, is stronger than most metals, and invulnerable to fire attacks. To activate this ability and to manipulate the ice, the user needs to perform hand seals.

Haku was the last member of the unnamed Clan from the Mist who possessed the Hyoton Kekkei Genkai. However, he was killed in battle while fighting Team Kakashi.  It is not known if there are any other surviving members of his bloodline.

Something notable about Haku was that he was able to control the Hyoton ability at a young age. He was also able to perform the necessary seals to manipulate ice with one hand; and was able to manipulate water without hand seals.

This Kekkei Genkai follows the same principles as most chakra fusion jutsus. To manage it, the user needs to control at least two chakra elements of be able to fuse them together to create a new element. In this case, water and wind chakra control was required to perform Hyoton.

Possible Techniques:

Sensatsu Suisho (Thousand Ice Needles) - Ninjutsu technique that creates a thousand ice senbom (needles). Haku was able to control the attack of these needles at will. The senboms can be used to immobilize, torture, or kill.

Makyo HyoSho (Crystal Ice Mirrors)- Ninjutsu technique which creates several ice mirrors, to form a prison to trap the enemy. Haku merges his body with one of the mirrors, which then allows him to move freely from one mirror to the next at near instant speed. This allows him to attack his opponents from multiple angles at almost the same time. Using his ice senboms, Haku can create a deadly web of needles with this technique.
