Shibuki's father was a strong role model for Shibuki while he was growing up, but his death dealt a traumatic blow to the young boy. When the Waterfall village cam under attack by invaders several years before, Shibuki's father, as the leader of the village, drank the Hero Water in order to defeat the enemies. However, the Hero Water has the side effect of killing those who are too old to withstand its effect. Because of his father's death, Shibuki grew fearful of danger and being killed even though he was the next village leader.
