Biography:

Hidan is one of the newest and most foul-mouthed members of Akatsuki. He is a missing nin from a village who worships an evil god named Jashin, but which country and what the name of his village is yet unknown. Hidan’s partner is Kakuzu, and although the two share similar “immortality” abilities, their personalities are very different. Because of their respective unique abilities, Hidan and Kakuzu are sometimes referred to as the “Zombie Brothers” by other members of Akatsuki.

It is not known if Hidan’s unique abilities are directly related to his religion or not, but Hidan is firm to believe so and devotes much of his time praising Jashin and conducting meditation. One of his more unusual rituals is to stab himself with his weapon and lie motionless within a triangle-circle design on the ground. Hidan always performs this ritual after a difficult battle, but it can last over three hours much to Kakazu’s annoyance.
Hidan’s trademark ability is to kill an opponent by damaging his own body. After drawing the circular symbol of his religion on the ground, Hidan then attempts to draw his opponent’s blood and consume it. Once this is done, as long as Hidan is inside his circle, any damage he inflicts onto himself is directly transferred to his opponent’s body. Because Hidan is immortal, he can damage his own body, even destroying organs or severing limbs, as much as he wants without dying.
After killing Asuma Sarutobi, Shikamaru Nara planned his revenge and set a trap inside the Nara sacred forest. There, he blew Hidan into several pieces using hundreds of explosive tags. Hidan’s still talking remains fell into a deep pit and was buried alive. Though no longer considered an Akatsuki member, Hidan is still alive.

Abilities and Jutsus:

	Hidan's scythe Hidan's main weapon is a scythe with multiple red blades which he swings around using a long cable. He claims his attacks are the slowest of Akatsuki members, but his attacks are highly agile and unpredictable.		Hidan's Ritual Hidan's ritual is a special technique which he uses in the name of his evil god, Jashin. It allows Hidan to link his body to that of his opponent so any injury done to him will also affect the other person. Hidan require's the opponent's blood and to be standing inside the ritual circle for it to work.
	Immortality It is not known if this is a kekkei genkai or an ability attributed to his religion, but Hidan cannot br killed in battle no matter how badly he is injured - including decapitation.
